I was at first disappointed upon check in because we pre booked a premium room and we were initially given a standard room with no view. We returned to the lobby and the issue was corrected. It was a bit inconvenient after travelling for 10+ hours to have to change rooms hauling luggage at midnight. Hopefully this is a rare occurrence. Also, we were surprised as to how busy this property got during our visit and there were often too many people standing around the narrow lobby area. Staff looked over whelmed and we got tired of waiting to pay for some refreshment items so we left them and never purchased the items. Other than that, everything was as expected.

I don't remember if it was my 12th ou 13th time at this hotel, but definitely It wasn't the best one. The room cleanliness is getting worse and the prices are rising. The remain advantages: Localization, comfort, breakfast still continues excellent.

Check in was great and we were happy that we could occupy the room early and that the room was spacious (being wheelchair friendly). Dropped luggage and left room immediately. On our return we found out that the room was not suitable for normal people for the following reason -bathroom mirror too low for normal people -toilet too high -shower floor slippery as it covers whole bathroom floor -the mirror for dress up has no shelf to put make up -the one bed had no headboard and no bedside table and aircon must be used for storage and lying in bed aircon blows on your face. -The TV is only visable from one bed...no chair to watch TV -no kettle or coffee in the room -storage for luggage insufficient. I should have immediately requested another room but as the shortcomings only became clear as we unpacked we decided to leave it and report our dissatifaction and ask for some form of compensation when checking out. The duty manager was called and the experience we had was explained to her. I asked for some form of compensation ie refund or discount on our next visit or just some form of recognition that our complaint was heard like maybe a free breakfast. I could just as well spoken to a wooden door !!! We have been to this hotel at least 3 times before. Will we be back....hardly likely

Was ok, not great. Not terrible either. Hot water pot in the room would be good addition for instant coffee. Of course then clients wouldn’t feed your lobby coffee machine (that doesn’t give change). Seems a little greedy to me.

It is correct that this machine doesn't give change which is clearly stated at the machine itself. Our premium rooms are standard equipped with a tea/coffee making facility. We do however offer kettle's for our guest which we provide free of charge and our guests are free to take tea bags as well instant coffee from our Take Away corner to be used in the room. I had checked in early as me and my husband arrived in Amsterdam at noon. We have left our luggages at the hotel, then went out and came back late at night. We found out that the hotel was overbooked that night and we have to go to stay at the other hotels (under ibis branches) and we were the only one that encountered this situation. We were so curious why the hotel didn’t book the room for us as we already been checked in. We were so upset and exhausted to fight so we have to move that night and imagine you have to relocate again the next day, how tiresome could it be to unpack and pack everyday! This has been the only unpleasant point in our first honeymoon for Europe trip.

Small sized rooms for a high price

Extremely small rooms with barely any space to move around. Very expensive for the tiny “doll-house” style room. You need to be a contortionist to use the bathroom or you may end up tangled in the claustrophobic space. There was no luggage rack because there wasn’t any space for one. To call this place a 3/4 star ibis property is a disgrace. Just because it is next to the central train station doesn’t mean it the place needs to be expensive and tiny.

Staff very friendly, rooms and hotel well maintained, very clean excellent location, possibly may be an idea for first time visitors to have a room with a view of the city or harbour although I appreciate this can be subject to availability. Also could be an idea for the future to have tea and coffee making facilities in rooms as as it's a bit much having to come down from the higher floors to get a drink, otherwise really enjoyed the stay.

WE were very happy with the service and cleanliness of the room. The staff were very obliging when asked for directions, for tea bags and a kettle for the room, however the kettle was broken and we could not use it at all which was very disappointing. I would suggest these items are checked before giving the customers.

As has happened before, although I requested early check-in, a room was "unavailable" when I arrived after a lengthy transoceanic flight (1100 hrs). Three sets of guests were sent to their rooms as I waited. Eventually I was given room 721 -- one of the smallest I have ever been assigned in the many years I have come to this hotel. When I complained of the wait and the other guests acquiring rooms, the staff member said she "was new here and did not understand the system". What is the point of being a frequent guest and Accor account holder if I am treated as mere hoipoloi?

Small toilet and toilet is not clean. Bedding did not change on our second day

I'm sorry to learn you rate your stay only a five out of ten, this is off course not the kind of experience we strive to deliver to our guests. You mention the toilet was not properly clean, this should off course be impeccable. My sincerest apologies for this, I will make sure to forward your comment to our house keeping manager to prevent future occurrence. The house keeping usually change the linen in the room every other day. If you like it to be changed you can always leave it on the floor, or tell it to reception. As for the size of the bathroom, I see you stayed in one of our so called cosy rooms, which are indeed quite compact, as is the bathroom. Should you like to have a little more space, you can also consider booking one of our standard sized rooms, which measure about 5m2 more and include also a bit bigger bathroom. The service and check in/ check out process is very efficient. The staff are nice but hope some of the staff can be more helpful. I inquired some staff on luggage storage issue for next day. The staff said it's okay to store the luggage for us no worry on that. ( But as I previously saw on internet, people saying the hotel don't provide this service so I've asked two staff hope to ensure they can store for us or we will hv different plan with the luggage) I've asked the staff after checkin and when I back to hotel at night. Both are helpful on it and said okay to store it and we can use the locker if we've security concern. But turned out, when we check- out the staff rejected to store for us and saying no we cannot do that. He expressed in a unhelpful and uncaring way. I think which is not allied with what we got from yesterday staff? And I let him know I was already asked the situation yesterday, he is surprised and said they will only do if the locker is full and didnt show he is willing to give any further advice. understand the hotel may be support all customer for luggage storage. however, it's quite disappointed to get rejected at the last minutes by a unhelpful staff.

Excellent location, very small rooms

Location is excellent, walking distance from Amsterdam Centraal and we could catch all kinds of transport to travel in to city and outside. Our room was very small, it had barely any space except the double bed. There was no chair in the room only a stool was provided, which was uncomfortable. There were no ‘glass’ glasses provided in the room for drinking water, only the flimsy plastic glasses were provided. I’m sure ‘Ibis’ can definitely afford to provide ‘glass’ glasses in the room. There was no closed wardrobe in the room, only an open hanger closet. The breakfast (at cost) was very expensive so we opted to take our breakfast outside at nearby cafes at half the cost. Ibis, Amsterdam Centraal, should take advantage of its location and need to make certain improvements to become an excellent hotel in all respects. So overall a ‘Satisfacory’ experience, not Excellent.
