Having decided to use the train from the airport this hotel seemed to fit all that was wanted, except for the lack of a kettle in the room. We were just a few metres from the canal cruises, the shopping on Damrak and the local restaurants.

I changed my room twice during the visit and the member of reception staff could not have been more helpful - I didn't catch his name unfortunately but he wore glasses. The shower in the second room lacked power and was a bit of a let down.

Everything was excellent, except the fact that was very noisy in our first morning because of some working on the room above us or the roof (I’m not sure if it’s a room there) but reception team sorted out quickly.

You really couldn’t get a better location, next to Central Station, so ideal when arriving by train. The room are modern, well designed to use space. Double Glazed windows gave me the best sleep I have had in ages. The new designed “hub” rather than a reception desk is a big hit. Able to engage with reception staff easily and also move away for a private conversation. Breakfast is extensive and fresh, fried eggs to order and delivered to your table. But it is the willingness and friendliness of the staff that made my stay special. Any little “hitches” were sorted out immediately in a concerned and friendly way. Well done and thank you to all staff.

Good, but two things to be improved: 1. The reception needs to be better organised so that there is a clear queuing system. Now, at busy times people are milling around and there's no clear first come first served arrangement, nor is it clear for new guests where to go. 2. There should be fan speed control for the heating unit in the room. Now it's either full on, and obtrusively loud, or off. Surely a 3-speed fan is standard these days.

Despite the fact that this hotel is very well situated, being very close to the Central Station, it is also very noisy for the very same reason.Rooms are basic, but comfortable.If staying at this hotel ear plugs are a must!

We choose this hotel every time, ´cos of the good location. Its next to Central station so its really easy to come. Hotel old side rooms are quite small and "oldish" and new side really nice. Staff is friendly and everything works, but I dont think this new style of reception is that good system.

Great central location. 24/7 service which is excellent. Our room was nice and clean but we were expecting something more from a ‘superior room’ and we did not even have a kettle or tea and coffee in our room.

The Ibis Amsterdam Centre has a great location just next to the Amsterdam Central station Simple but clean rooms The check in procedure is a bit troublesome (there is no real reception desk) and can take a while when there is a line of customers Adding a self-service checking would make the hotel great

Our room was nice, but there were a lot of dust under the bed and in the ventilation system. There were tree times when a silver fish went across the ceiling.

« Lovely room & view, room a little cold. »

It was a lovely room & fabulous view however we got 2 single beds pushed together when we had booked a double room. The room was a little cold also, we had the thermostat turned up full but it wouldn't move past 18degrees.
