Great welcome, but the room was old-fashioned: old carpet, nothing about Internet access, no instructions present regarding your stay, couldn't get on the shower at first as it was very strangely constructed, it then suddenly started working, couldn't get it out afterwards at first, knob of bath was demolished, so forget taking a bath, vlotter of toilet was not fixed, so it streamed continously during the night (but you didn't hear it). Very quiet place, good beds. Light of airco continously went on an off, disturbing your attempts to fall asleep. Still I slept well, liberate check-out times.

Checking in was slightly chaotic. The young lady was extremely pleasant but seemed to be having a few problems with her "machine". I was not given the complimentary drinks vouchers and had to ask for them - then I was only given one despite there being two of us. She did apologise however - I got the feeling she was new to the job. When using the bar Mariane was excellent - professional, friendly and personable. Be aware that when you pay with a credit card there is a "discretionary" twelve and a half percent surcharge on the bill - I did not notice this until much later when I looked at the slip. Drinks and food are a little on the expensive side but this is a "London" hotel so to be expected. Breakfast was excellent and all the staff in the dining room were beyond helpful and pleasant. A major negative was that we observed a young member of staff (with a passenger, also a member of staff) parking in a disabled bay - obviously no badge to display. Not good. I have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions and none of the negative points I have mentioned would prevent me from staying here again or from recommending this hotel if you are using Heathrow Airport or need to stay in this area - the positives far outweigh the negatives.

Good breakfast. Efficient check in. Room was rather hot - Turning down the thermostat didn't make a difference. Room was clean. Good bathroom. Disappointed at having to pay an extra £12 to drive to the hotel and park overnight!

Water in shower was lukewarm on the evening, unable to take a bath due to tepid water. Check in could have been efficient but was in the middle of the entrance, so when retrieving my booking details, had to put my bag down and felt very impersonal as there was a drinks party in the reception area.

Room was lovely, bar and restaurant staff were great, but the checkin experience a bit bizarre. No counter, left stranded with our luggage in entrance while staff member went off to a room and closed the door! Same on checking out, left standing for 10 minutes while staff member disappeared into another room. Neither were friendly and gave the impression we were annoying them in what should have been a routine transaction.

I recently stayed with my family at Novotel Heathrow while on a transit from Vancouver to Johannesburg and wanted my family to take some rest and visit Central London early morning but thanks to clogged bath tub drain and unavailability of plumbing service/cleaning service, we lost approx 3 hrs in the process.Also, when i went downstairs in the lobby area to print out some maps and sightseeing locations to visit during the layover, the computer literally didn't turn on so i couldn't print anything. The other computer was being used by another person. Basically this messed up everything and our plan to utilize our significant layover time completely failed.I would really request someone in customer service department to take this into account and compensate us by returning at least half of what we paid.

rooms are fine. location is good. the gym is good but eating in the restaurant they add a heavy service charge (which wasn't obvious) and it is £12 overnight parking (ouch!!), again not visible anywhere before you arrive
