We use this hotel to visit friends in Lyon although, because of the excellent transport network, we can easily get to all the major sights too. It has a very secure car park which is useful. The area is really lovely with lots of good shops just a street away. The bedroom was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The staff are very helpful and pleasant and the bar is a good spot for a coffee or a beer. The only criticism is that we didn’t seem to be able to control the temperature of the room. It was very cold weather when we stayed here and the room was very warm, which in general was a good thing, but it was too warm for sleeping and I ended up opening the window. Just a minor inconvenience but worth mentioning.

The actitud that ruined the customer experience

The hotel is comfortable, bar is more than correct, Ikebana is really amazing. At the moment of the check in , they asked me specifically (as usual in accor) if I wanted breakfast. I said No, I don’t eat at mornings. The problem is that, at the moment of the check out, I received a pre-invoice by email including 2 breakfast , that I ever asked for and specially, I never used. When I called the same morning of the check out to ask why they charge me that, asking them to correct the invoice, the ladies said : it was not actually a final invoice and she had nothing to correct.(I still have the two documents). I had to insist. This incident really ruined my customer experience: first, this is not the first time that happens in this Mercure and one other in Lyon (Lafayette). Second, I don’t understand how a charge like this with the precedent can actually apear on my fast check out preinvoice. And last but not least, the fact that the receptionist denied the issue and said: I don’t have to correct anything, made me feel very disappointed and bad treated . It really ruined my customer experience
