« The Mercure takes the strain of an early departure »

This was the second time we had opted to spend the night before an early flight at the airport hotel Mercure. The room was spacious, comfortable and elegant. Despite its proximity to the airport the hotel is very quiet, ensuring a good night's sleep. Instead of an anxious motorway and ring road drive on the morning of the flight we had a two minute ride in the free hotel shuttle and the peace of mind of leaving our car in the hotel car park. Overall, a very pleasant experience and a relaxed start to a holiday.

poor value for money. Breakfast disappointing as at 9.00 there was hardly any scrambled egg and bacon. The idea of cooking your own eggs in a pan is poor for a hotel costing 160 euros a night!

The hotel was rather nice, plenty of parking and swift to check in, the room was fine and nice and clean and spacious. However the greatest disappointment was the evening meal, having spent the whole day travelling, we were looking forward to sitting down and having a nice meal, unfortunately the menu at the weekend is extremely limited!!! - a choice of two starters, two mains and two deserts. Basically the main course was either steak or salmon, the starters - nothing appealed, even the deserts were not appealing, not even cheese and biscuits, so it was simply a main course and call it a night. Unfortunately the steak was not that great either, my wife left most of us as it was full of fat and gristle.

« Not good, poor service in the dining room, a flooded bedroom and a late shuttle to the airport. »

When we arrived in our room it was soaking wet - there was a severe leak in the bathroom which had flooded the bedroom carpet. The cleaning staff had just finished - they should have noticed this. The dining room servers were very poor. The shuttle driver to the airport was 15 minutes late without apology. We checked in at 4:30 pm and our room was not yet available.

Was welcomed warmly, particularly in the restaurant when I sat down for a late, very late dinner. Staff were very warm particularly the lady who served my meal. Amazingly helpful. Room was comfortable and very clean. Check in and check out smooth and uncomplicated along with efficient airport transfers. One negative note - was quoted a much higher rate on the phone as opposed to booking on the Accor Hotels website - very disappointing and unnecessary.

A good welcome at check-in, the room was comfortable and had the view we requested. Dinner was enjoyable and good value and the breakfast choice was excellent, although this is the first time we have had to cook our own eggs. That is an observation not a compliant. We are returning for a further stay shortly.

Very close to the airport and easy access to the city center. Shuttle service from the hotel may be have a space to improve that the driver did not appear on time and I had to store my suitcases by myself as well as no good-by at the airport...

I needed to have a late check out , as our flight to Singapore left at 8 40 pm, and you provided this service. Staff were great. Bedroom adequate. Breakfast was appalling. There was a sports team competition, weight lifters etc, staying. These people “ scoffed “ all the food, ravenously , leaving nothing, I repeat, nothing left. The kitchen could not keep up with this overload. Poor management .

We stayed two nights with a late arrival from London the first night, a day as tourists in Bordeaux, then an early departure by car to Ile de Re on Saturday. It was convenient and comfortable for us to stay at the airport due to our late arrival and our need to pick up a rental car on check out, Saturday. Hotel beds and rooms were comfortable, breakfast was good and we had dinner on the Friday night. All were good for a price competitive hotel in an ideal location for our visit.

« It’s OK »

The hotel is very close to the airport terminal - about a 10-12 minute walk. Room is small but adequate for one night. Air conditioning worked well. Mattresses are comfortable but the pillows are a memory foam which are very firm and which we found not at all to our liking. Shuttle to airport left promptly as scheduled.

« Disappointing second stay »

Hotel restaurant under renovation but temporary dining area was chaotic at both dinner and breakfast. Tables not cleared and there appeared to be a lack of staff though I would commend our very friendly Italian waiter at dinner who was trying hard to cope and serve with a smile. In room, telephone and one bedside light was not working and the shower drain could not cope with even a short shower and so quickly flowed out onto bathroom floor. We have stayed often in the nearby sister Ibis Styles hotel and honestly don’t feel the service and standard of facilities at the Mercure was worth paying more for. At least everything there works and the dining experience is superior. As an ACCOR member, booking through the ACCOR site, I would expect to be informed at the time of booking if a major facility like the restaurant was not available for normal service.

« Great location, comfortable, good quality »

We stayed over before an early flight and everything was good. Comfortable room with all facilities, excellent TV and bathroom, bed very good also. Left early next morning so had a quick breakfast which was fine, nothing spectacular but all fresh and good quality. Staff were very friendly and professional and access and parking easy. Will happily use again.

On arrival the front desk disavowed all knowledge of my booking until I produced paperwork. The room had a step ladder which was later collected and a made up camp bed which I didn’t require. The coffee machine leaked and the shower soap dispenser was lying in the bath. It was impossible to get any soap from the dispenser. The bar was closed for renovation and it was very difficult to get a drink which had to be requested from the front desk which was understaffed and always had a queue. I wanted to contact the hotel by email but no email address available on the website.
