The hotel is central, very clean and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Ideal for a short stay, wardrobe space limited for a longer stay. Prices are a little confusing I paid 3 different prices for 3 different nights but I would definitely stay again.

The entrance and bar ambience was very welcoming and we were looking forward to our stay. Our room was very small for us as we had two large suitcases and nowhere to put them as we are travelling. The hallway was very hot as was our room. We couldn’t get enough air from the window in the bathroom or bedroom. As there was only a doona and no loose sheet, we slept without any covers at all as we where do hot. We used the fan all night which helped a little airflow. Breakfast was excellent and good value.

Pretty much as I would expect from a budget hotel. Location was good, though the surrounding areas is a bit down at heel. Room small and decor is possibly not to everyone's taste.

« Smallest bathroom I have ever encountered »

Good reception staff and dealt with efficiently at check in. Although we are Accor members and had requested an accessible room, the twin room we were allocated was one of the smallest I ever encountered. The reason for visiting Portsmouth was to visit our daughter at university and I was struck how her bathroom in halls was larger than the one we had at the Ibis.

Hotel is far to hot!! Something all your staff are aware of but cannot do anything about. Management need to wake up and fix the issue as I wont be staying with you again until its fixed, Premier Inn has won my business in the future.

« Another fine stay »

I've stayed here on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed hence why I'm happy to return. Firstly the staff are attentive, polite and always eager to help which in my opinion as a world traveller makes a hotel. The rooms are a decent size and the bed very comfortable with good shower too. I must admit the breakfast was worth it with all the choices you require be it English or Continental. In all another enjoyable stay and look forward to returning next year.

« Basic but comfortable hotel- great breakfast »

The hotel was modern and clean with a great breakfast for the price. We were in a disabled room as we were with our newborn infant and needed space for the buggy. They kindly put us in this room. The room was still small (although the bathroom was huge!) We had a good stay, but the worst thing was the room was boiling hot which was unbearable. We had all windows open and the fan on but it made no difference. We had to sleep on top of the duvet and it was far too hot for a baby too. Need air con.

One night on business ; so in my room from 10.30pm till 7am. The bed was great but the bathroom was very small ; not in itself a huge issue ; just be warned. Breakfast was good and staff were friendly and competent.

« Friendly staff. Small stuffy rooms. »

Receptionist was extremely welcoming. The room was very small and I would describe it as basic. I think the price charged was a little high given the standard of room. It was a very hot night. Our room was above some industrial fans or airdonditioning units for the kitchen so was also quite noisy. I had very fitful sleep. Your staff is your strength however and everyone was very helpful and friendly.

The staff were lovely, however, i was provided with the access room, which is an irritation because as a 6ft male, the low shower head makes it very difficult to shower. BUT FAR WORSE WAS THE TEMPERATURE. I thought the heating was on in the room when i entered, but no, it was just supremely hot. The windows don't open fully, there is no air conditioning and the only salvation comes from an asthmatic fan which really isn't good enough. There is no water in the rooms, and the tap water is warm due to the heat of the pipes. I do understand that the previous days had been hot, and therefore the building was hot. But why isn't there the common sense of keeping the windows open. Or not putting guests on the top floor which seemed to be the most affected areas.... and if needs must... providing free bottles of water to help guests make it through the night. It was extremely, and it was poorly managed by the staff... i.e. no seeming awareness of the extreme temperatures and no plan to deal with it. Very poor

« Noisy, small, terrible shower and needs a good clean »

The room was extremely small. It was a double room (324) but luckily, I was the only one staying in at as I'm not sure how two people would walk around the room at the same time. The room was extremely noisy. I understand you cannot control noise from outside but if you cannot insulate the room against the shouting and screaming of people at 3am then you should not be letting rooms on that side of the building. The water trickled out of the shower head and the grout between the tiles in the shower was brown where it had not be cleaned properly. I am waiting for a member of management to contact me regarding my stay.

The room was great if a little compact, very well designed and with one of the most comfortable beds I've ever had in a hotel. Check in was really simple. And you let me check out late after my car was broken into (not in your car park) so that I could sort everything out and still get a shower. I'd definitely stay with you again.
