Have stayed here before, so what went wrong this time? Quite simple really. They have taken out the telephone in the bedroom. In itself not a problem, but did they mention BEFORE I entered the room. NO. What is now in its place is a sticker telling you to upload WhatsApp or something and contact reception in that way. I took my phone to the reception and asked them to show me how to download the App. Three of them discussed things before telling me that my phone was too old for that sort of thing (it is a perfectly serviceable Nokia that does what I want it to do). I know people who also do not have the latest smartphone and even some others that don't have a mobile. So, Ibis, if you are going to do this, at least advertise the fact. We would have gladly taken our custom elsewhere. Alternatively, a stock of house mobiles for those without that can be loaned for the duration of stay. Again - how about a landline back in the room?

The Ibis hotel New Street station is perfectly located for access to two mainline stations and other local transport. It takes a few minutes to walk into the centre of Birmingham. The hotel in very clean and comfortable and the staff are welcoming, helpful and friendly.

Staff were great. Poor sleep due to what seemed to be a nightclub close by that could be heard from my room with windows closed.

« Perfect but room was underwhelming »

We won free breakfast and drinks as soon as we arrived which was great, the hotel lobby was really cool and less formal which made us more relaxed. Everything in the room was ok, the bed was comfy however the room was quite small and the decor wasn’t very appealing but there was nothing bad about apart from the aesthetics. It would have been nice if the rooms matchedthe interior of the lobby as that was modernised.

Hotel facilities and room were reasonable for the price, however my reservation was not recorded on the system leading to confusion and delay during check in. A request was made to make a charge on my credit card, which I refused due to money already having been taken during my initial booking.

The staff are friendly and the reception/bar/restaurant are looks amazing, which gives high expectations for the rest of the hotel. But when you reach your room, it’s tiny, dated (woodchip wallpaper!) and not particularly clean.

Unfortunately, my Mum had a stroke last week so I couldn't stay at your lovely hotel after all. However, my friends (whom I booked for) did stay and reported back that the hotel was great.
