This hotel is very convenient for a Birmingham stopover. It's near New Street Railway Station and the Bullring shopping area. It's also by Birmingham China Town. The hotel provides all you would expect from a budget hotel and the added bonus of very friendly, helpful staff. The buffet breakfast offers a good selection of food.

2 of us stayed here whilst attending the cricket at Edgbaston, it was a perfect base for our time in Birmingham. Staff couldn't be more helpful, ordering taxi's and allowing our luggage to be checked in as we arrived early. I have already pre-booked for next year's test match

Good communication from the booking until arrival. Unfortunately our keys didn't work so they had to be re programmed. Our room was small, but clean and adequate for our needs. The weather was very hot and a fan had been placed in the room and switched on before our arrival. There was air con in the room but it wasn't very efficient. The staff where very freindly and asked us how our stay was and to let them know if we needed anything. We had a meal in the hotel which was good quality and value for money as was the breakfast.

We enjoyed our stay in Birmingham. We chose the hotel based on its location to the city centre and it was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful, with a special mention to Ingrid who was very friendly and welcoming, with a lovely manner. The only snag was the air-con (lack of) and the fact that the plug in fan didn't create any cool air with the current temperature being so high. Breakfast was good but perhaps there could be slightly more choice with the cooked breakfast (eg fried eggs, black pudding)

The rooms need Aircon, it was very hot and stuffy and the room smelt musty. The desk fan provided only pushed the warm air around the room. Opening the window was not an option as the noise outside was excessive. The bar was comfortable though and the staff friendly and helpful

i stayed the weekend of the incredible hot weather 3/8 each room had been provided with totally inadequate fan thats why i took my own - knowing that after staying at this ibis many times the aircon / heating system has never worked correctly ! May i advise instead of paying for blackboards and weird booking in system in reception - (yes i had to wait while the barman cooked a pizza ! ) perhaps money would have been better spent on getting a new zircon /heating system

Really good, chose for the location as needed to be near the train station. Family room was better than expected, staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The only downside was the sound from nearby bars etc but this did stop About midnight . The windows were doubled up which helped but noise is to be expected in the centre. My son liked the free pool and football table! Breakfast was lovely too. Plenty of choice. Wouldnt hesitate to stay again.

Really enjoyed my stay. We have stayed before and would stay again. The only thing I would say is this time round service was really slow at the bar when ordering it seemed to take ages. But overall the experience is great.

Car Park Fine. Staff - particularly check in person - tried hard to please. Loved the deezer free jukebox at the bar! Room was basic (aircon v noisy and didnt work) with a fan to cool things down. Beds not to Premier Inn standard but OK. Hotel situation excellent next to Chinatown, Arcadian centre and Hurst Street. Overall good - would stay again.

Everything was great, friendly staff and clean rooms with everything you need. Even the security guy went out of his way to provide help when we needed something. The only drawback if you could even call it that was the lack of a clear customer service desk so when we walked in we weren't too sure where to go but a member of staff approached us within a minute.

« Fun time in China Town! »

Stayed for the Cricket. The area has plenty of resteraunts and bars. The hotel is a well run Ibis, the staff were, in general, very helpful and attentive. It is a noisy Hotel but that is the location and efforts were made to help this (free earplugs!!). Free water available in the Foyer with glasses, fun games also on offer. Very enjoyable.

Sent to a room un cleaned from previos guest. Asked for twin room got given a double. Room beyond small. Will never use again. Bathroom smelled strong of urine. Disgusting.
