Very close to both train stations--you would hardly want to be closer. Staff was both friendly and helpful. If you get hungry, you can get a sandwich 24/7. The bar next door was occasionally noisy, but I always stayed up later than they did, so it was okay. The room is small but absolutely what you need.

The room was basic but ok. There was no working air conditioning, and the surrounding area was so busy you could not leave the windows open. The staff were very helpful and the location was very close to all amenities.

Room was clean and the breakfast was outstanding in the morning also impressed with car parking and as a blue badge holder there was no charge only point was the air coolers in the room arnt very good but they did have a fan in the room . My family really enjoyed our stay and would recommend and will stay again.

The hotel was a great location and comfortable. Our family room was great. However, we were woken during the night to the sound of dripping. Having turned on the light we realised the dripping was coming from the wall and dripping directly into our suitcase. The carpet and some of our clothes in the case were soaked through. I messaged reception and then went down to find someone as I was concerned that the large bubble in the wall was likely to pop at anytime. There were no other family rooms available so we were offered a double and a twin. I was staying in the hotel alone with my two children and was not happy with the idea of them being in one room and me in another down the corridor. The only solution we were able to come up with was for the three of us to share the double bed in the double room. Far from ideal as my children are 13 and 10 so not small children. The lady who moved us was nice and helpful, offered us a free drink in the bar which we declined as it was 1.30 am and told me to speak to the manager in the morning, which I did. The lady in the morning stated I would get a refund for the room cost and apologised. Again she was pleasant and friendly. I know these things are unfortunate but I left feeling that no one had really bothered to see if we were ok, if any of our belongings were damaged or if we required help to dry off the wet clothes and suitcase etc. We had travelled from Scarborough to spend two days shopping for our holidays but the second day was somewhat spoiled by us all being exhausted and unable to use the spare space we’d left in the suitcase to pack our shopping as it was damp and full of damp clothes. Although the hotel was a perfect location for our needs I wouldn’t stay again and would think twice before staying at an Ibis hotel in future.

The room was hot and humid. It is not possible to leave the window open all night because of the hotel's location. For the price I paid, I would have expected the room to be air-conditioned. Cf. Express by Holiday Inn.

The experience was fine, however as a frequent user of Accor Hotels I was disturbed to find that there was no way I could connect with staff should I have had any kind of accident/illness/need of help in our bedroom. This was because there is no landline telephone and being elderly neither my husband nor I use mobile phones other than in an extreme emergency when we would phone the first number on our phone. We did not have your phone number, neither would we think of using the mobile phone in an emergency in a hotel. What's App - which we were directed to use should the need arise - is not on our list of phone numbers. Please tell me what we should have done should such an emergency have arisen. Your hotels are now clearly wanting only the young people - who are social media savvy - to stay in your hotels.

I arrived v late with a lot of heavy luggage. Stefan who was on duty put me in a room near the lift and helped me carry my suitcases. It made all the difference to the end of a long difficult day.

You stay in a hotel to sleep, not this one! The beds were rock solid with some kind of lumpy mattress topper on them and really uncomfortable and there is no soundproofing to keep noise from outside to a minimum. Got hardy any sleep. Don’t recommend and won’t stay again. Room also very small and bathroom smaller.

Paid for an early check in - on arrival told this wasn't possible as no one had checked out. Don't understand why you are selling this as a service if it can't be delivered. Was told the extra £10 we paid would be refunded, only to find this morning I have been conviniently been charged a late checkout fee of £10.... Won't be staying here again

Great location in the city centre. Staff are so welcoming and everything is just less hassle. The service is friendly and efficient. Breakfast is great with a variety of choice. Every year at this time we come together with friends to celebrate their birthdays. It is also understandable that not all requests are guaranteed, however they managed to fulfil my needs. I have stayed with them many times and I will continue to in the future. They always look after me. Thank you for having me!
