« Rooms small and way to hot! »

I also when enjoying a night cap drink don’t really want to be sitting in the bar with 20 uniformed police officers making use of the free tea and coffee you are providing them with. They were in here for over an hour and more simply kept coming it clearly is the local weekend hangout for them but not good for customer Trying to enjoy a beer blinded by the hiviz clothing and loud radios

« Friendly staff, clean hotel, a bit noisy »

The staff were always helpful and friendly and available to offer their service. Great location and within walking distance to many of Birmingham's attractions.. The hotel itself and the rooms are clean and in good order. The noise insulation between the rooms aren't very good though and it was quite noise at times. The hotel is aware of this as the provide earplugs as standard. .

« I totally recommend ibis New Street »

I was with work colleague's who I consider friends at our stay in the Ibis. We had a great time. We had a great laugh with staff and police who came in while on duty. I actually can't wait to go back in September to the ibis for our next conference in the ICC. We stayed in a different hotel previously but we'll be staying in the Ibis in future. Staff are so friendly. Hotel clean, warm and inviting. Rooms are on the small side but that's all you want the room for is to sleep. Really happy with the cost and breakfast was hot and delicious.

As always, I was greeted on arrival, my room was ready and clean. The room was bathroom were clean. All the employees were friendly. At breakfast, I ordered porridge which was cooked well and promptly. There is a lot of choice of items to eat and drink. As there was no chamomile tea, I asked for some and it was brought immediately. Check out was quick and painless. I had another good stay, thank you.

« What you would expect for a Black Friday £40 deal »

Room comfortable and clean. Shower hand set holder was broken so head was set at midriff height. The plug in the sink was a bad fit and could not seat low enough to seal. therefore had to try to wash and shave under running hot water ( not the first time...wonder if this is deliberate to prevent sinks overflowing and flooding?) Gap under shower door meant bathroom floor & awaiting clean underwear etc soaked when left shower. Breakfast; Endless queue for one of only two coffee dispensers that takes about 2 minutes per guest ( x120 rooms = 2hours !) Utility " full English" = bacon sausage beans tinned mushrooms and dry hard scrambled egg all pre-cooked and kept "warm" for the 3 hour duration of service. Previous night I and a colleague ordered a gin & tonic and a 330 bottle of propriety beer. The barman charged £9.00; Upon considering a second round we looked at the price list and found the price had been " rounded up" from the listed £8.20 to the £9.00. On pointing this out the barman apologised; thanked us for discovering and drawing to his attention his mistake and offered a free drink. Having said all that the hotel is clean and friendly and I do keep going back , because of its price and convenience, and the ambience which is better that many of the other low cost city hotels , and a lot better than Travelodge!

We chose this hotel because we thought it was near the station - but it isn't. Be prepared for a 5 minute walk which is ok if you do not have mobility problems. However the hotel is good and comfortable.

« A handy hotel for a budget stay »

A comfy bed, warm room and fairly quiet. No frills and the bathroom is definitely cosy, but I appreciate their approach to limiting damage to the environment with non-bleached towels and linen, as well as bulk toiletries rather than tiny plastic pots. Recycling facilities would be a good addition. I didn't eat there as a gluten-free vegan my choices were non-existent.

Friendly helpful staff available at all times to greet and help with any queries. Quick check in and check out. The room was clean, warm and comfortable. My feedback from last time's stay had been listened to as I was given a room on the quieter side of the hotel as requested. The hotel is in an excellent location to access the city centre with all its shops, restaurants and transport hubs.

« Customer service was poor »

We were staying on a date night as had tickets booked at the glee. Waited 15 mins in lobby before assisted then when we got to room the pillows were dirty. Luckily there were spare pillows so we used them. The TV also didn't work and we had to use our phones on the free WiFi for entertainment. Not happy with my stay which is why I hadn't completed the first survey.
