« Good but really small... »

The room was clean and efficient, but oh so tiny. We laughed and we will we have to go out into the hallway to turn round... It did not stop us from enjoying our stay though. the breakfast was also very enjoyable and nicely priced.

The Staff were very helpful and couldn't be faulted, breakfast was superb overall a very nice stay. The only moan is that the building was too hot especially sitting in the bar area. Not just for me but our group.

« A good room, that is clean and functional. The bed is high quality. »

I liked the way I was welcomed by the friendly personnel. Everything was clearly communicated via e-mail and thanks to the online check-in, paperwork was decreased to an absolute minimum. The only downside of a room of this (not so cheap) price is that the bathroom is a bit too small. Not such of an issue, but it could be a bit bigger. Also, concerning the special chocolate room I booked, it would be nice and a small extra if you also actually put some chocolates in there, instead of only decoration in the chocolate theme. « Surprisingly quiet for city center but pricey »

We arrived in Gent by bike and felt safe storing our bikes in garage (as the hotel is noted as bike-friendly by the Flanders Long Distance Bike Route guide. The staff was very friendly. I’d stayed at Ibis St Baf’s before and it was too noisy with tram traffic, so I was pleasantly surprised that this hotel was quiet. Also, guests were very loud in the lobby, but we weren’t bothered by noise in the room, despite being next to the elevator. The new beds were very comfortable. We thought the price was quite steep though at EUR 125 without breakfast.

Have stayed here many times.Is ideal for visiting Gent has the benefit of a car park which is easily reached without enduring the fearsome one way system .The staff as always are friendly,professional and helpful although it sometimes difficult to track down a bar person! The rooms although small are adequate with all the necessary comforts. Will definitely return

Nice lobby, bar, breakfast. Rooms are a bit too small to manoeuver and only 1 towel per person is a bit cheap (in other Ibis hotels abroad, you get 1 for the shower and 1 for the hands pp).

The hotel was ideally situated for our stay. Checking in was easy and the room was comfortable. The room was quiet apart from the air con that was a little noisy. We didn't eat in the hotel but the coffee was very good. It would have been nice had there been hot drink facilities in the room. The car park was below the hotel and spaces were reasonably sized.

« Great location, clean but basic room. »

I was pleased with the ease of check in, and the location was very convenient. The room was quite small and a little claustrophobic for me but we didn't spend much time in it. The room and bathroom were small and although dated were very clean. Breakfast was very good value, we were impressed. The only problem we had was exiting the car park as we hadn't been given a token when checking out.

« Helpful staff but faults in room »

When we arrived at the hotel there was only 1 room available so the girl on reception rang through to -Baafs Kathedraal and reserved another room as we were a party of 4. We parked at Ibis Centrum Opera as we had spent over 1 hour trying to get to the other hotel. I think it should be advertised on website that it is virtually impossible to get to the Ibis by the Cathedral. The room at Centrum Opera was ok but the bedside light and the toilet seat were both faulty, If it had been me staying in the room I would have rang reception for somebody to fix it, but it was my elderly mum and sister that where staying there and they didn't like to complain. The room wasn't cheap and should have been up to standard.

The romos of this hotel are very old and need a big renovation. Rooms are smal, showers with low water pressure and price is high comparing to the quality of them. Breakfast is not bad, but expensive. The atmosphere of the hotel is nice.

The check in staff were efficient, friendly and very accommodating (I'm an awkward customer!) The bar staff were the same, went the extra mile! The room was kept clean and tidy and I was confident about leaving personal belongings in the room, a little thing but important to me!
