Good quality of breakfast and very generous room rate. We really enjoyed the location of the rooms on the highest floor and at the very end of the corridor. It really helps to sleep on busy weekend nights. We will be back next year and hope to have similar rooms then. Thanks ;)

For our third stop in Antwerp we have choosen Ibis Antwerpen Centrum because of its location in the inner city in comparison to the price. The rooms (esp. the bathroom) are really small, but absolutely sufficient for such a trip. If you need your room just to sleep and take a shower you may enjoy the rooms. Breakfast is appropriate to the style of the hotel. The personnel is young, cool and always helpful.

Often stay at this venue. Not sure about the new style check-in but I suppose times move on. Good level of comfort and clean. I am concerned that although the hotel is making efforts in respect of being green, it is strange that there are still one use plastic cups in the bathrooms, wrapped in plastic and that complimentary bottle of water is in a single use plastic bottle.

Everything worked perfectly. There’s been a change to not having a formal Reception — not sure how well that works if you still need staff in an adjacent office. I didn’t do online check-in. I looked for online check-out, but apparently that’s not enabled yet. I really liked the freshly-squeezed orange juice in the breakfast room. But I used to like the theatre of seeing a machine squeeze it for you! Ibis at Seraing used to have one of those.

During my most recent stay @ibis Antwerpen Centrum is was really surprised about the way is was addressed by a young lady who identified herself as a ‘trainee’. When I ask her a question about the Saturday market just in front of the hotel, I received the answer that she could not possible know this as she was a trainee from Breda and that I should look it up on internet. I realise a trainee cannot possibly know everything about the local context. So, it was not so much her lack of knowledge that surprised me but rather her tone of voice and clear disinterest in me as a guest. Later that same evening she consciously and deliberately let me wait to order drinks while serving guests that arrived later first. She clearly didn’t like me, which is fine. What is not fine is that she lets her personal antipathy against me influence her service level. Not feeling chemistry with a guest is not an acceptable reason to deny that guest the service s/he paid for. I strongly advice ibis to mentor their trainees and brief them on how to address guests.

The check-in was very confusing, as there is no obvious point of contact with the reception staff as there was on previous visits. The return of the reception desk would overcome this difficulty. Again on departure the same lack of a focal point was confusing.

The stay once in the room was great but even though we left a £150 deposit for all extras, we had problems, being told we couldn't place drinks and food on a tab! Ridiculous as that is what a deposit covers.......in the end we were permitted but it made us feel frustrated and having a deposit was a waste of time. Suggest you create an Accor card that people can top up and use in all Accor properties for extras and then staff won’t get confused and customers who have paid, won’t be insulted and turned away without them having to carry money within the hotel......when they are supposed to be relaxing! Not your standards of the past at all. Shame as we and the family use you all the time! I truly hate the way reception is now......

Have been at this hotel many times. During my visit before this one, the reception desks were already gone and the employees were already walking around with their mobiles to check you in. Am not sure it whether this is very ergonomic for the employees to hurt their eyes while working on a small mobile screen. And for the more older people, it is very confusing. I guess this is a kind of a pilot. I remember that those kind of pilots in Japan, with almost no reception, ended in installing back the "old" reception desks. But for the other things, the rooms are always very clean, the breakfast delicious.

Very helpful personnel at check in, although I could have done it online. The room was comfortable. I am very fond of poppies so I noticed the hall carpeting. Great breakfast. I will stay here again if I am in Antwerp and will recommend it to friends.
