Good location, great breakfast buffet. Not having air conditioning in the rooms is a bit disappointing. Mariana, at the reception desk, is great. She should be promoted.

We arrived earlier than the stated check-in time and the helpful lady at the check in desk got us checked in early to allow us to drop our bags off before heading out on an adventure. The room was spacious, clean and well maintained, very comforting to stay in.

Dear Ibis, I have stayed in the Ibis Augsburg Hauptbahnhof quite a few times over the last ten years I have been living in Germany, as well as other Ibis' around Germany, in Dubai and have generally been happy with the quality of the hotels and the service. This time, however, I have a major beef with the behaviour of one of the staff at my stay over the weekend. I don't even know if I can blame this particular staff member as it seems to be a very bad customer service policy in place. I was in Augsburg for a wedding last Friday. On Thursday night (22.03.2019) I was scheduled to check in. Because of a missed connection, I travelled 12 hours overnight and arrived at 5:30am the next morning. I checked out on Sunday at 5:15am. On the way back from the wedding, in which the transport provided was a private bus and I lost my bank-card and phone. I was able to book a train trip home with bank transfer, but by Sunday morning I only had 20€ in my wallet and no card to withdraw any money. Because I had paid in advance, so I thought there would be no issues, but on check-out they said I had to pay 12€ for breakfast. I had not ordered breakfast either on the internet, on the the forms or verbally. I paid the whole amount for three nights on check-in, Friday morning at 5:30am before I went to bed. The ceremony at the Standesamt was at 8:30am, so I didn't have time to sit down for breakfast on Friday. Sunday morning I was taking a 5:40am train, so breakfast didn't make sense either. I repeat, I did not want or was able to eat breakfast. Plus, if I had ordered breakfast, I would have paid on check-in with my bank card and the rest of the room when it was claimed I ordered breakfast. Basically, I was told by the man on reception that was in the system, there was nothing he could so I had to pay. Full-stop. I explained I didn't have enough cash on me and I was told if I can't pay, they would have to call the police. Let me just emphasise that point again: they made a mistake and overcharged me, and when I pointed out their mistake, they threatened to call the police. This is unacceptable policy. There are lots of different ways you could charge me if you felt compelled to do so (even though you had no right). You had my credit card on file. You had my full address, passport information, phone number - you could quite easily send me an invoice. If I had bought one extra drink, I would not have been able to pay the account. As it was, I was lucky I could buy a sandwich for breakfast on the train trip back - I hope the irony is not lost here. I hope you will do something to improve this sort of behaviour. I would also like the 12€ back. I'm not normally this rude, but I am not usually this angry. Apart from this particular staff member, I was generally happy with the state of the room and the rest of the staff. The internet is a problem - it wasn't really useable in my room and I had to go to the foyer. The phone also wouldn't dial out of my room - I followed directions (I pressed 0 before I dialed my number), asked for help at reception, got told to try again and just gave up. I would appreciate a response.

The employee, who you did had contact is a very new one and it seems to me, that he is not well trained yet. We will of course refund the full amount of the breakfast. Please contact me directly per mail (H1…) with your bank details. Once again, I am very sorry you experienced these problems and sincerely apologize for them. Please rest assured that we are taking the appropriate measures to address the problem and prevent future occurrence. Service was good and friendly, breakfast OK, but the room was small and the bathroom really very narrow and tiny.

In unserem Ibis Augsburg Hauptbahnhof sind die Doppelzimmer ca. 11-12 qm und die Badezimmer ca. 2qm groß. Wir haben das Ziel gute Qualität zu adäquaten Preisen anzubieten. The room is absolutely fine, unfortunately I had loud neighbours the first night, the rest of the nights were fine though. The carpet in the hallway has a rather pungent smell which is hard to ignore.

Clima needed. Air conditioning needed. Every day the maid closed the window and room was much too hot when I returned. She knew it was hot. Maid left emergency exit door open.

Your hotel is a great value at its normal rate of 100 some euros a night. But charging 249 euros a night is the equivalent of stealing money from your customers. I consider it completely unethical to charge such exorbitant amounts when the hotel is nearly full. This was not Christmas or a special holiday, it was simply a busy week in Augsburg. Charging a little extra for peak demand is fair and understandable, but charging 2.5 times the normal rate is outrageous. I hope the extra 150 euros you got from me is worth the value of a lifetime customer, because that is what you have just lost. I will not give future business or personal business to a hotel brand that acts in such an unethical way.
