« Unlikely to be repeated. »

Our room was extremely hot when we arrived. After discussions with technical staff we were informed that the room heating was set to "heat" only as it was January. The AC was switched off, the only way to cool the room was to use a special key to open the window. The window was opened and when the room cooled down was closed by hotel staff. Guests have no way to control heating or cooling. When we went down to dinner there was a long queue of people waiting so we went to the Novotel next door. At Novotel it was chaos, no one seemed to be in charge. We were persistent and were told that the wait would be at least 30 minutes, we found a booth to wait in and have a pre-dinner drink but were ignored by staff. and left. Back at the Ibis the queue has diminished and we had dinner, staff were attentive.

Second time at Ibis Paris Orly, conveniently by the terminal through a new walking bridge. The check-in this time was a bit hassly as the first room allocation was to a room already occupied. The rooms was of course changed (after having three times asked if we were sure there was somebody in the room... how can't you be sure if someone is clearly snoring on the bed and there is luggage and clothes in the room.... Quite odd to ask it three times?). The second room was unfortunately a smoking room and we needed to change it immediately as well. The third room was allocated by another person at the reception and she seemed to understand the problems and made sure that the next room meets all criteria stated in our booking: a non-smoking twin room. Finally we got ourselves in a correct room which was just as it should. The overnight itself and the breakfast buffet were good Ibis standard, everything fine with it. Will definitely stay again on our next trip through Orly. I am just wondering how well the staff is trained or are they often using temporary personnel as it sometimes feels like you are not take very seriously as a client or the person is just doing the minimum without too much concentration. This happens more rarely than the good experiences though. The only thing which is scaring is that the system allows double allocation of room which enables giving strangers a valid key to a room already occupied by other client. This does not increase the feeling of security, especially if you happened to be the one sleeping in your room when somebody enters your room with a valid key....

This was the worst hotel I've stayed at in quite some time. There are two positive things I can say about this hotel and then I'll leave the detailed nightmare of my stay. First - there's no bugs/rodents/insects... so that's a plus. Second - when I had to pay for a second room because the first room was too small for two people they had another room available. Those are the positive items. Here's the issues: if you're parking a car here you can't park anything about a midsize in the garage - it's impossible. I had a VW Passat and cleared the corners at the entry by no more than 2-3 inches when turning in. Also the entry to the garage (which is for three hotels - not one) is marked with a very small printed sign which is somewhat difficult to see when it's raining. After checking in and getting to my room, there was one double bed. I reserved a triple room because I was travelling with my 18 year old niece. I called back downstairs and they said I'd have to come to the lobby to get another room (any decent hotel would've brought the keys to me... but this isn't a decent hotel). After getting the keys and going to the second room I opened the door to two twin beds. I'm 6'4" and my feet go off the end of European single beds... so we had to go back down to the lobby (because, as I mentioned, bringing keys to a guest after a mistake isn't possible at this hotel). The third room did have the correct bed combo, however the single bed literally was a pull-out from some type of odd contraption. The entire room was literally 9 feet by 14 feet including the bathroom. It was the smallest hotel room I've ever seen - ever - anywhere. I've stayed in cabins on cruise ships that were larger than this room. We had the room reserved for two nights and the second night I got a second room so that my niece could sleep in a bed that was an actual bed. Oh and there's no airport shuttle - you have to catch the bus that isn't provided by the hotel - and that runs 6am to 10pm. We did a day-trip to Rome with the flight leaving at 7:10am and returning at 10:35pm - which meant this was of no use to us. Instead I had to go park at Orly airport for the day (which was close to $40 just FYI). Speaking of the parking - you can't pay at the front desk or have it added to your bill. You have to pay by cash or card at the kiosk on level -1 in the parking garage. The credit card reader at the exit doesn't work so you can't pay there (that was as of the 29th of December). We went next door to the Novotel to eat because after the room fiasco I wasn't risking consuming food at this hotel. Overall, this is one of the worst hotels I can recall walking into. If the hotel were in the United States I would've demanded a refund and slept in my car. On TripAdvisor there's nothing but bad reviews recently - now I understand why. I would appreciate a refund for the 2nd room that I paid for on the 2nd night, though I seriously doubt that will happen. If this were a hotel in the US I would be reaching out to the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint. Your hotel's staff should be ashamed of their lack of service and your company should be ashamed that things such as shuttles and parking accommodations are so disorganized.

The Hotel is next to the airport and almost no one could speak proper English ( mostly every tourist speaks english). Therefore it was difficult to communicate with the stuff. Also, I was charged 230 euros deposit on the arrival and then 175 euros for the hotel. Even though I was told 230 euros was a deposit, I still haven't got my money back and now I am dealing with this matter through my bank. Apart from it everything was ok.

« Convenient, clean and comfortable »

Check in was a little slow (due to a queue), otherwise fine. Room was well appointed, clean and comfortable. There was a door to connect to the room next door which I always feel reduces the soundproofing of the room. The selection at breakfast was excellent, but queues at the coffee machine slowed things down a little. Perhaps another coffee machine would ease the congestion at peak periods?

Réception - no smile, no explanations and manager who ignores situation. Room minuscule, but clean, about the only good thing about our stay. Outside of 1 person at the bar everyone else totally incompetent or totally disinterested in their jobs. Only reserved hotel because of proximity to airport.

Good place to stay before flight (or arriving). Good breakfast, including REAL French cheese. Fast check out. Diner could be improved, especially the buffet. Good bar. Room was quiet (no plane noise). very large shower

Well located hotel, comfortable room and good price. Surprised to see that this Ibis has a restaurant (with freshly cooked products, not reheated industrial products). Very nice staff...I had forgotten my iphone charger and the staff managed to find one for me. The room seems to have been recently rewamped, as the decoration and bathroom was fully new and fresh.
