The hotel seems to be under some sort of re-modeling. Which is a good thing. However, our room seemed smaller this time than usual with an awkward arrangement. There was also an awful chemical smell coming from the sink in the bathroom. There was no stopper, so we couldn't hold water or plug out the smell. Also the shower doors didn't seal properly and we couldn't help but flood the bathroom.

Most of the staff was helpful and efficient especially a gentleman at the front desk. The bed was terribly hard. The central air was quite cold.

It's an airport hotel, right? They could not have been surprised by the numbers of guests waiting to check in the night we arrived, so why was the desk so woefully understaffed? And why did check-in staff (the two of them) continually race off to deal with other issues? We waited on line a very long time.

From the time we entered the hotel until we left, everything was extremely efficient. We had a good-sized room (for a reasonable price), access to good hotel restaurants (loved the buffet and sitting outside) and our checkin and checkout, which I did electronically, went smoothly and quickly. I will definitely return. And being 50 metres from the train station is a major benefit.

« Construction Work and Unacceptable Staff Reaction »

I actually stayed in hotel from 9/29 to 10/03 under a different reservation made from my husband. Sewer smell in shower mostly in evening which is quite unpleasant. Biggest inconvenience sprung from construction work which I suffered from one afternoon on 10/01, I believe, when I had to stay in all day to work. When I simply mentioned how unpleasant that was to desk employee upon my husband checking out on 3rd (and I checked in for a couple of additional days), her answer instead of a simple acceptable apology was "We're not going to shut down the hotel because of construction work" to which I told her that, at minimum they should warn clients and she added "you cannot hear the noise from your room." That was so shocking and unacceptable as I conveyed to her understanding and friendly manager later. Attitude and proper training are the key to good customer service. Any inconvenience, as I told him, can be easily forgiven when personnel is friendly and warm and this specific unpleasant employee should learn to smile as her colleagues do.

I always stay at Ibis Hotel CDG before coming home. This last experience was not the best, the room was extremely hot. We turned on what we thought was air climatisation but it didn’t help. The restaurant now serve a buffet. The food was just not very good. Keep it simple. Have a menu with a good selection of easy to make fresh recipes. It is Ibis it does not have to be fancy, just good, light, fresh. The staff at front desk, bar, restaurant were all very helpful, professional, smiling. The room and overall hotel was very clean.

« Under Construction - Stay Away »

The lobby was under construction and a mess. Check-in staff seemed overwhelmed. The room was ok, but the air conditioning was not working, even though it was a warm day. I was told that it was "between seasons." Asked for ice at the bar, was given a small glass with some ice, when we asked for more ice was told: "That's an American thing." Bar staff not friendly and certainly not in the customer service business. Finally, we parked our car in the garage, but when we check-out in the morning the pay machine, located in the lobby, next to the elevators, was not working. UGH!

Check in was quick and efficient. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was satisfying and you can’t be closer to the terminal shuttle. I would certainly stay at the hotel again.
