« Good but small bedroom »

Reception was nice, bedroom was clean and breakfast was good with a lot of choice. Nevertheless, the bedroom was very small. I already came last year in this hotel and it already was my remark but I thought it could be only mine. This year I had another one and it is exactly the same thing.

« Strong (cleaning chemical?) smell »

Overwhelming smell hits your face when entering the hotel. Reception area is ok, but rooms are small, untidy and have this run-down look. Coat hangers are very brittle (plastic and thin), and break easily. Towel hanger was already broken. Plastic carpet used in most parts of the room is not glued to walls. No, I doubt I will use Ibis hotels in my subsequent travels.

The hotel is located about 15 minutes away from the town center and the Lille Europe train station. Palais Beaux-Arts is 5 minutes away and so is Lille Flanders station. The hotel itself is what you expect from IBIS Styles, a bit quirky decor, continental breakfast, clean rooms, friendly staff. Convenient and pleasant stay overall.

« My confirmed booking was not honoured and I was shifted to another hotel for one night »

In October, I booked to stay at the Lille Centre Gare Beffroi in December - well in advance. I confirmed this booking in November. When I arrived late at night (after a 32 journey from Melbourne in Australia) I was informed that there was no room for me at the hotel - I suspect it had been given to someone else in a group booking to make more money for the hotel. I had to travel by taxi to another Ibis hotel, unpack (after midnight), then pack again the next morning and move back to the Lille Centre Gare Beffroi hotel. I was offered no discount for this extraordinarily poor service from your company. If I do not get an adequate explanation and compensation, I will give a poor rating to Ibis Hotels on social media. The standard of the hotel and the staff was good when I finally got my room at Lille Centre Gare Beffroi (a day late).

« Very disappointed by the customer service »

I managed to do the online checkin the day before arriving to the hotel. My room and keys were not ready, when I arrived at 12:30pm. We were offered to leave our luggage at the reception, which was not very nice for our stay. The receptionist didn’t explain us anything for the breakfast or WiFi. After complaining, we finally got a room. The rooms are tiny, and not so well sound proof.

For the third time, I booked this hotel. I noticed a drop of quality. Room: The shelf of the bathroom where the towels are stored, which has not been replaced (don't forget to get the towel before the shower) Some paintings that are damaged. Breakfast: Fine, except the coffee.

« expecting a little bit more quality »

OK & fine but I was expecting a little bit more quality in the furniture, bathroom equipment (btw, why there's no toilet brush?) etc. Small rooms are fine but if they're not designed in a smart way, you lose too much space. The breakfast can also be improved and still kept at minimum requirements. The location was safe and central.

The hotel itself, the staff, the location, the breakfast were all very good. The room does have almost everything needed (the tv could have some Englisch, German and or Dutch speaking channels). Only the beds; to short (1.90m), the matrassess were covered with plastic. Therefor we did not have a good sleep at all.

« Minimal but nice »

The bed was comfortable and the room clean. The main issue with the room was the fact that the floor would always get soaked when having a shower. This seems inevitable since (1) the floor is carpet (2) the shower floor is higher than the actual floor (3) the shower curtain is too short. The breakfast was good.
