« Ok but not great »

The hotel is one of the first you come across as you leave the station. It is popular for meetings and conferences as the public spaces have a nice contemporary feel to them and staff are generally friendly. DO NOT order food in the bar or in room without first ascertaining if there is a conference on about to be served food, otherwise you will be waiting an hour. The rooms have a tired feel to them, not unusual at this price level, but the air conditioning doesn't work and the duvet is barely thicker than a sheet, so be prepared. Staff at breakfast had rabbit in headlight reactions to the simplest of questions, but most staff very helpful. Small gym and spa are available on site.

All good thanks. The main criticism would be that the cooked element of the breakfast would benefit from being warmer (in common with many buffet style breakfasts). Warm plates would also help

The conference facilities were really good providing a room specific to requirements and a wide range of refreshments. The evening meal was different to say the least with most of us receiving a vegetarian meal without it being requested but I understand this may be down to the booking team from Tribal. IT was however extremely noticeable of the different standard of food presented to those with specific dietary requirements compared to the majority of the party. The lunch was great - with the exception of the allergic reaction I suffered but this could have been due to anything rather than a negative against the hotel. MY room was spacious and clean and had everything you would expect from a hotel room. The facilities were a little dated but fit for purpose and the room itself was surprisingly quiet for a city centre location.

« Lovely Hotel »

The Novotel, Sheffield Centre is a lovely hotel close to all amenities. A short walk from the station, tram stops, shops and an abundance of restaurants. The staff are welcoming making checking in / out easy. Our room was spacious and, for a city centre hotel, quiet. The room facilities were clean and bright. Breakfast was, as expected, plentiful with a range of hot and cold buffet style offerings. I know only Accor "Le Club" members get a welcome gift but the plate of delicacies waiting in our room was very much appreciated. All in all we enjoyed our short stay and would certainly stay again should we need to visit the Sheffield area.

A lovely stay. Just a minor hiccup. One of the cups in our room was dirty and had been overlooked. My husband went to reception where it was immediately rectified. Room was lovely and comfortable and we had a lovely stay.

« Good Hotel »

The hotel is easy to find from the station. The front desk was very efficient and helpful, it was a pleasant experience. The hotel looked great and the facilities were good, but the room was a little jaded. I felt like it had been given a really cheap and quick finish in comparison to the main areas. The bar was OK. Dinner was average, I had the fish and chips which I felt was very basic in quality and presentation - the fish was not great, hard batter and it carried a lot of fat. In terms of sleep, which is the most important, that was good, although pillows were a bit the, but that's always a whinge from me.

Had a business trip to Sheffield and the Novotel delivered a very good experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms and hotel were very clean and well presented. Breakfast was reasonably priced and always of good quality. Reasonably priced bar with friendly barstaff. Will choose the Novotel in future trips to sheffield.

As before, my room was cold and it seems there is no way to make the temperature higher. I rang reception and said it was cold. Reception said to turn the thermostat up to 35 (!) but even so it was less than warm. They did say they could provide a heater but presumably it would have to be on all night.

Everything was clean and well presented the room was comfortable. The room was well equipped . I couldn't work the coffee machine on the room . I had a lovely drink at the bar in the evening but didn't have time for breakfast so can't comment on that
