Visited for two nights with our dog and car from UK. On checking in we were given an upgrade due to our Platinum Accor status which was excellent for us and the dog. Car Park was extremely accessible and the suite was one of the best we have stayed in, and extremely good value. The service was always excellent, from the doggy pack to the complimentary drinks. Breakfast was of a good standard and the staff were always polite and helpful. We will definitely visit again, the hotel is a credit to the AccorHotel group.

Had a good stay, friendly staff, rooms were clean, but the walls were very thin and especially on the Saturday it was very noisy, as well as in the hotel as outside, which woke me up a couple of times.

Great location to Royal Theatre and Palace. A lovely stroll to Plaza Mayor for a wonderful range of food.

Great location to Royal Theatre and Palace. The Royal Palace a must see the audio is fantastic. For food can’t go past Plaza Mayor. Walking around was very easy. A visit to Prado Museum was amazing saw great works by Goya.

Good location, breakfast and services. Room was clean but noise insulation needed improvement. Good reception on arrival and fast check out. Bar was nice for meeting and drinking. Internet was good and stable. Will book again.

The place was very clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent since there was a good variety of food to chose from. Staff was friendly and polite. The only minor thing there was which did not effect me, since I had the room to myself, was that the door to the bathroom did not close properly. Otherwise, everything in the room was in excellent condition. Thank you.

Connecting door between my room and next door was perfectly transmitting all the conversations from my neighbours into my space, and they did not speak loudly. You need to improve the noise isolation I did not get an invoice while checking out (Digitalisation / paperless stratehy), and still don;t have it for my expense report. Restaurant menu very limited Staff mostly friendly, but not very attentive while dining and slow.

A $100 a night hotel not a $300+

I do not believe the hotel is worth the advertised price per night. For a $300 dollars a night I expect an overall higher service level. Below I provide more detail Service: I found the staff in general to be very hands off. When we arrived we were not provided any info about the hotel (wifi, breakfast, etc.) or area, asked if we wanted a map or any kind of welcome. Further, the women who checked us in was wearing a T-shirt with a huge stain. I understand that the hotel wants to convey a relax vibe but at the very least the staff should look presentable at all times. Perhaps have extra T-shirts available as accidents can happen. The room- The cleanliness of the room could be improved. It was clear that it had not been vacuumed or broomed in a while as there where plenty of dust bunnies present. The corner of the room where also dirty and the floor felt a bit sticky, thankfully we had slippers. Nonetheless, I expect a higher cleanliness level when I am paying $300 dollars a night. The bed was not comfortable, the pillows where terrible. The linens felt very cheap and despite being the middle of October there was no duvet present or a blanket was available in the closet. The “duvet” was very thin, it felt as if only a sheet was present. I was cold the first night and did not have a good night sleep.The second night I asked for a blanket and the person who answered my cell phone call let me know that he was not sure if he would be able to get a blanket as he was alone in the hotel. Again I do not expect a $300 a night hotel to have one person staffing the hotel. It is important to point out that despite the protest from the staff member, he was able to bring me the duvet very quickly. I was perplex as to why he would make me upset by thinking I would have another sleepless night. The phone in the room never worked. When we arrived I had a couple of questions and wanted to call the reception. The phone was not working. I used my cell phone to call the hotel. I reported the phone. The second night I wanted to call reception again the phone was still not working. I used my cell phone again and reported the phone. We left and the phone never worked. The curtain, in particular the railing was not working. One could not open the curtain and hence the window. Again, all these little details are not expect from a +$300 dollars a night hotel/room. Gold member perks- As stated before the phone in the room was not working, I could not call the hotel reception let alone make local calls. The welcome amenity was a joke, 4 tiny circular chewy candy the size of a small marble. We did not get an upgrade in the room - this I am aware is dependable on availability so no complains here, but believe that when an upgrade is not available perhaps a better welcome amenity could be provided. This stay really made me question whether it is worth “taking advantage” of the “perks” offered by the membership and perhaps I would be better off going to a boutique hotel. I wanted to start with what I liked in the room, which was the window and the ability to open it, however, I was not able to open my window. Would I return to Madrid, yes, had a great time and the city is great. Would I return to Mercure Plaza Madrid? That’s a different story.

Good location with very clean and bright room. We arrived with a warm welcome of receptionist . Floor attendants are polite to greet us with smile. Breakfast is good too. A good staging experience like 2 nd home.
