Check-in was very frustrating. There was only one receptionist, dealing with other matters on the phone and the process took a good 15 minutes. Apart from that the whole experience was most enjoyable. I would stay here again.

No laundromat/wasserette and their laundry service seemed a bit expensive but there are others in the area. Bicycle rentals were available (3-speed safety bikes with locks) but weren't advertised and I wasted much time looking for rental shops.

I got a free upgrade, thanks for this! I liked the room's style and the location of the hotel itself as I could easily reach any sightseeing point I wanted. The service was also nice as they reacted friendly and helpful when I had questions.

Having stayed here on a number of previous occasions we felt the hotel atmosphere was a little flat. Staff were polite but not friendly. We like the location but the building work outside the hotel meant we were woken up quite early. Our room was also not cleaned properly on one occasion.

The front desk gentleman, who has been working quite some years at the Mercure Hotel at the Spui, Den Haag, was welcoming and rememberd me from former stays. The location in the centre is excellent and convenient.

« Good caring staff in difficult circumstances »

As a frequent stayer in the hotel I have got used to the excellent service that the Mecure provides. This time it was even better but for not good reasons. Unfortunately I fell ill shortly after arriving and during the next 3 days the hotel staff couldn't have been more attentive. They ensured I was fed and watered and all my needs were catered for. Just the little things make the difference and these guys go that extra mile. Rutger and his management team should be proud of the guys on the ground facing off the the clients.

« A nice weekend »

It was a fantastic w-e. The girl that made me the check in was really nice. The room was huge and clean. The bed was so confortable with a lot of pillows. The breakfast in the morning was perfect: well organised, with everything: cold and hot food/drink, croissant, bread,... And the cappuccino was amazing! I left my little bag in the hotel for free at my check out, to continue to visit the city.

As always, my stay in Mercure was a great experience. In general, all staffs were friendly, accommodative and helpful. Well maintained rooms and good breakfast choices are worth to mention here! Very impressed with environmental initiatives (paper key, encouragement to use same towels, not everyday cleaning (indeed with a free voucher) Couple of points to improve : 1) Dinner menu was not good enough, very very limited options available. Certainly need high attention 2) LCD TV in rooms are outdated one, its been 7 years since I've been watching the same one with very limited channels :(
