« Nice Hotel »

The hotel itself is very nice and the staff were very welcoming. The room was ideal for our stay and was very clean. Our only issue was with transport. Having repeatedly asked at reception about the travel cards for transport and where to buy them, we then found out that the ones we purchased were only valid on GVB services and not the service from the hotel -397 bus. This needs to be highlighted as we came across several other parties who had the same issue. The free transport to and from the airport is great but should also be hightlighted that the service doesn’t run between 13:30 and 16:00 as no one made us aware of this. Overall, a great trip.

« Comfortable stay with all the essentials »

Comfortable spacious rooms, with two exceptions - 1. Guests would prefer to have a mirror by the desk area. It isn’t ideal to have to go into the bathroom to do your hair and make up when you have a plug, seating area and desk to utilise, especially when sharing a room with another person. 2. Each room would really benefit from some noise control from other guests coming and going in the hallway. When other guests pass, it was incredibly loud.

« Great stay few minor issues »

Lovely rooms and bathrooms, the outside of the building could do with an upgrade but overall a lovely hotel. Really does need a pedestrian crossing over the road as many use the bus stop just down the road however to get there you have to cross a very busy rod without a pedestrian crossing to protect you. The food was good we wanted a light meal after a long day out the waiter clearly was disgusted by the fact we didn’t want a 3 course meal and made this clear with his attitude which was rude, however this is only minor just a note don’t eat there if you want something small We tried the New York pizza delivery service which was wonderful, decent price didn’t take too long, the leaflet in the room did say that it would be delivered to the room however we recieved a phone call to collect it from reception, I do highly recommend this just note that you will have to walk down.

Reception staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Adequate fir a short stay. The evening meal was terrible, but the breakfast was good.

« over all ok, but some details need polishing »

Employees/ service is excellent, reception, bar and restaurant employees are helpful, and service minded. No complaints there. Staying at the hotel for 5 nights, there are a few items that would have made the stay more pleasant. Menu. with only 3 core menus in the restaurant, the lack of choice became detrimental to the overall experience. after 3 evenings having dinner in the hotel, the thought of having to repeat the choice was not appetizing even though the quality of the food was good. Breakfast and lunch was good overall but more variety is always welcome. rooms: room and cleanliness were good. however the noise from the radiator was problematic the first night, this was solved afther having requested an airing of the radiator from the reseption. this kept the noise at bay for 3 nights, but the last night the noise was back, so i presume you have a general air problem in the heating system, and would benefit from airing out all rooms, maybe. the only problematic issue with the stay was the internet connection, while the direct download speed was survivable, the upload speed was pitifull and the connection quality was hopeless making it impossible to utilize microsoft sharepoint, outlook and the web based programs we were there to train on during the course. I ended ut having to connect to the internet using my mobile as a hotspot. For a business hotell this is beond the pale, and should be looked into.

« It’s a nice hotel, but we probably won’t stay here again. »

The hotel is nice and the staff is VERY friendly. Sadly, we booked this hotel BECAUSE they had a shuttle to and from the airport. NOWHERE on the website does it say the shuttle doesn’t run between 14:00 and 16:00 (we arrived at 14:15) AND it doesn’t say there is a surcharge to return to the airport. If we had known these two things we would not have chosen this hotel and the website is very misleading.

« Nice relaxing experience »

Nice hotel but quite far from any amenities other than the BP Station next door. Bus a 5 minute walk away but across a busy dual carriageway - a bit nerve-wracking if you're from a country that drives on the right. There is a lake just across the road which is a nice place to walk and relax.

« Amazing stay ! »

The Stay at the Mercure Amsterdam West was amazing! The check-in was very professional and convenient. I got an upgrade to an Prefered Guest Room in the upper floors. The room was very neat and clean. Never sleep so comfortable like on the Accor Beds! I much appreciate the hospitality of Mrs. Vera Schaefer! She was so helpful and make me feel very welcome as a frequent traveller. Breakfast was good and the service friendly and attentive. Next stay in Amsterdam is definately again at the Mercure! :)

The hotel is is located near to the Schiphol Airport, but it's very easy to get to city center by taking the bus (397) from the station -5 min walk , either by buying tickets from the driver (2.5 euros) or by using Amsterdam Travel Ticket which also gives you access to other public transportation such as trams, metro, buses operated by GVB. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They also responded quickly to our question before the arrival. We arrived earlier and they gave us the rooms, even if the check-in should have started at 14:00. There is also transport from airport to the hotel, which can be taken from A9-A13 and the driver is really nice. The bar staff during the evening were very attentive. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great, the lift doesn't have an inner door which was a bit unnerving. The breakfast choice was very good and the staff very helpful and pleasant

A comfortable hotel with helpful and friendly staff.About 15 mins from the centre and the airport with a handy airport shuttle and a bus that leaves every 10 mins to the centre.Good selection at breakfadt with freshly squeezed orange juice a bonus.

This was booked through the company I work for via the UK agent Capita and the hotel were requested to invoice Capita directly. The hotel refused so I had to pay for this personally and then try to claim the expense back. I also started receiving spam Dutch email a day or two after returning and the only party I had given my work email address to recently was the hotel, which makes me question whether this data has been sold to third parties. The choice of meat options on the dinner menu was limited (burger or fish). Service in the restaurant was good. The room was fine.

We stayed for the weekend & prior to this I phoned for some information & I spoke with Amanda at the front desk - she was the most efficient & helpful welcoming person over the phone - so even before we stayed - we felt very welcome - so thank you Amanda & Mercure Hotel. The hotel was very family friendly & safe - I am already planning to do a solo trip with just my daughter as I felt very comfortable here.
