« Average and stingy »

I love staying at Sofitel Budapest and it was my hotel of choice when I was traveling with my former work. As much as it is a wonderful hotel with truly awesome staff, really smashing breakfast and great modern, comfy rooms, the Sofitel in Luxembourg looks like its poor cousin who gambled away most of the family fortune and now lives by selling family silver and grand mamas tiaras and pearls to dodgy Americans. I am not quite sure what happened in with Sofitel Europe in Luxembourg and why was it left to be so run down and looking just plain ungracefully old. It looked like no one really cared. Someone at the reception mistaken my passport for Romanian - I have no idea how that happened - my residence is in Serbia and my passport is Hungarian. So I started getting emails from the hotel in Romanian. Great language of Ionesco and Mircea Eliade I would love to understand, but at the moment do not. Its little-big details like that. Sofitel in Budapest is all about details. And you can see how the entire staff in Budapest is dedicated and care about details. And then the breakfast. Honestly, the biggest disappointment, especially if comparing to your Budapest Hotel where breakfast is indeed a feast, both aesthetically and in taste. There were literary 3 cherry tomatoes in a mini-bowl (nice bowls, tho!) served for breakfast in Lux. Bread selection was amazing tho. So, I do not know. Maybe your guys from Luxembourg need to visit your guys in Budapest to learn about how an awesome hotel should be run and managed. Or maybe you like leaving an impression of a three star Hilton at the Akron Regional Airport in Ohio. Cleaning ladies were really nice I must say. Very, very kind and helpful. Definitely not worth 700 eur for three nights and one does leave with a bitter taste of a rip-off.

« Every basic services were very good »

Business trip of two nights,no special needs. So clean room, good bed, bar for nightcap and excellent breakfast. Yoghurt, berries, fruitshots, good bread, good coffee. No queing, no rushing to omelettechef. But peaceful breakfast and nice personnel in breakfast room.

« thanks / nearby construction causes inconvenience »

hi - i always choose novotel/sofitel at kirchberg when i visit luxembourg for business because the office that i visit is nearby in val des bon malades. also the #16 bus from Findel comes straight to your front door. however, now the buses use Adenauer which is 10 mintues walk away but this is exacberated by the massive construction work behind your hotel which means i have to take a 20 minute deviation

« Not really what was promised... »

Hotel rooms were reasonably spacious, smart and quiet. But the family restaurant was closed throughout our stay, leaving no economic eating options in the vicinity. We were not informed on booking of the restoration. The parking was a nightmare (on Booking.com website you claim you have your own). The bus to the centre no longer exists, and the tram ends before the long bridge. So a lot of unexpected hurdles and problems that we could have done without.
