Excellent stay for a week at this totally refurbished hotel. Spacious room with innovative design. Large bath tub. Welcoming and friendly staff throughout. Good breakfast food selection and exceptionally good service from all the staff during breakfast.

Everything about this beautiful hotel was perfect. The hotel has just been remodeled and is gorgeous. The rooms are contemporary and stunning, the bathrooms are stunning and have everything you need including a wonderful rain shower and Hermes products. The bed and pillows are plush and divine. We dined in the restaurant several times. Not only is it gorgeous but the food is sublime. The staff also goes above and beyond to make your stay perfect.

Front desk staff were overall amazing. We had a few service glitches, especially on housekeeping. Housekeeping was absurdly uneven. While the cleaning was solid, sometimes we got conditioner for hair, sometimes not. Sometimes some of our glasses where replaced, sometimes not. Sometimes we got two washclothes, sometimes not. This little details are important (and other Sofitel hotels execute with perfection). We also had an evening where we tried to reach room service. Front desk couldn’t transfer and gave us a nonworking number. When we called back, he was very rude about it and said room service would call us. After waiting 1/2 hour we gave up and went down to McDonals! This is not acceptable.

I was so excited when I was booking Sofitel Roma especially that we would be staying there after a major renovation. It did not disappoint. Ivan was very helpful in our check-in and in making our stay more memorable by giving us a free upgrade to the Luxury Room, a privilege of being a Platinum member. The room was indeed very luxurious. We enjoyed our breakfast at the seventh floor terrace with a breathtaking view of Rome. The service of the hotel staff was also superb. We will definitely come back.

Renovated but lost its charm

Even though the hotel has been renovated it has lost its charm. The roof top bar/restaurant is cool and funky but the rooms feel cold and dull. Not old Italian like it used to feel. The rooms are very noisy from inside the hotel as they echo very loudly because there are no soft furnishings ie. carpets to absorb the sound. The service is better than it used to be upstairs. Will be choosing to stay elsewhere in the future. As a platinum member I would have expected complimentary breakfast as they don’t have a club lounge and not just a complimentary drink of only certain items. It feels like they don’t appreciate your loyalty but have to begrudgingly give you something. It’s insulting and won’t be a platinum member much longer.

The room was next to the elevator, I didn’t want that room because of the noice. The manager stay it won’t be an issue that it was well isolated and of course it wasn’t. Your curtain don’t even close properly because of the way you hang your TV on the wall. You could also add a curtain In the bathroom. We had dinner there one and let me tell you it took us over 40 minutes before getting wine. We received our appetizer way before our wine..... Everything was so slow and the food was mediocre. The view was amazing.

First class service and check in. The hotel were able to receive a parcel for me prior to my arrival and delivered to my room on check in. The whole experience of staying there is just a pleasure and i wouldn't stay anywhere else in rome. Really love the new room renovations, the bed is comfy, the bathrooms are much more functional and its good that there are USB charges next to the beds. The rooftop restaurant service was also exceptional and a great view over the vatican. Will stay there again for a 5th time when i visit rome again.

Check in experience was very disappointing as we kept on being told wait would be 30 min, then another 5-10 and then ultimately wa almost 2 hours. As well we requested reservations be made for us at restaurant in advance by email prior to arrival and then upon arrival - restaurant had no reservations for us. Extremely frustrating and disappointing.

I understand that with a new property there will be teething issues but I don't see why I have to pay full price to help you work them out. I had a similar experience in Sydney when the Darling Harbour property opened (I was also not allowed to claim the points on a 2 week stay). You've lost me as an Accor member.

The guest relations and concierge staff were very good. Overall the experience was not as expected due to factors surrounding the fact the hotel had only just reopened. Power outages, drilling noises, lobby seating area closed off because of the ceiling leaking. Restaurant could not provide printed receipts, everything was hand written, which seemed strange.

First of all i want to say that after one week opening it looks good and promising but a few things that is the reason for the 6. taking in mind 600 euro a night! At arrival i was standing in front of the door wich has to be opened manually with two suitcases and nobody there to help, at the desk checking in was not fluent first want to bill me full amount (I paid with partially points) than it is without breakfast ( I booked with) sorry didn’t see it, at the end a caution was put on my CC from 680 euros. I wrote a mail previous to arrival that my wife is allergic for Hermes products coming on the room only Hermes products took a while for other was arranged. Eating in your restaurant was good food nice View and very nice refurbished staff very kind but need some training. again staff was very helpful and advised in some nice restaurants. Checkout I paid with my CC but unfortunately the caution is still on my CC blocked sent two mails no response this is a killer I never been in a other hotel where this happens. It is now 5 days later and still blocked no response :-( In a price range of 600 a night these are killers . Regards

A truly memorable stay

A beautiful hotel. The renovation has been completed to a very high standard. The reception staff, including concierge, are excellent setting the tone for a memorable stay. The bar staff on the rooftop were very slow in serving plus we had some communication problems but the venue and view are fantastic. The breakfast staff were very happy and welcoming. Some were obviously being trained which put pressure on the others. Our poached eggs on the first day were wonderful and runny. On the second day they were completely over cooked. I am sure consistency will come. The bedroom was great. We loved the decor. Our TV was not working properly. We reported it but it was not fixed. I reported it again on checkout. A small point...more shower gel should be provided without having to ask, or a bath soap. One small pot between two people is not enough. Overall we had a wonderful time and will certainly come back.

The room had no information booklet, and so when I wanted to ring the front desk, I didn't know the number. Equally, I had no idea where everything was. The room was extremely cold, the staff were not able to provide any solutions The lift of the hotel is also not very good, keeps shutting on guests if they don't move fast. Overall a beautiful hotel to look at, but not user friendly. Small things add up to experiences, and those are lacking here.
