We always enjoyed our stay at Sofitel le faubourg. Lovely to meet same people year after year. Breakfast need some more varieties and front desk people can be more polite and accommodating. Not all of us is fussy.

We had scheduled with our travel agent to have a 1PM check in. Arrived at the hotel with the front desk saying they had not heard of this. Even though our room was reserved, check-in took a long time...given that the rooms were not ready, I'm not sure why this took so long. I gave them my cell number for them to text me when the rooms were ready. Received a phone call from the front desk that the rooms were ready. We were just around the corner sitting down for lunch so I came back to the hotel to check into the rooms. I went to the front desk only to find out the rooms were not yet ready. Added the check-in process was all around the hotel's paperwork instead of being guest focused on letting us know of the hotel's amenities. Had to wait another 15 minutes. Why they called to let me know the rooms were ready when they weren't, I'm not sure. Finally, got into the rooms. The staff had left a cake and balloons for my birthday, which was a nice touch. That evening a member of the staff came to turn down the sofa-bed for my daughter. This was followed 15-20 minutes later by another staff member dropping off flowers and another interruption 30 minutes later for turn-down service. ...this all seemed very uncoordinated. Surely, turn-down service could have delivered flowers and arranged the sofa-bed. This all sounds petty, but we were jet-lagged and really just wanted to relax undisturbed. On a positive note the room was perfect for our family. It was well appointed and clean. The next morning we went down to breakfast...not easy to find, as the station to check-in for the restaurant was not manned. We assumed it was closed until my son walked around the corner to find the restaurant and staff. Someone should be present at the podium you have for check in or simply place a sign to direct guests into the restaurant. The front desk check-in process I'd give a 2 with the facilities receiving a 9.

The overall amenities like the bi level sleeping arrangements were nice, along with the Hermes toiletries and daily breakfast (best pastries ever). The proximity to places and 24/7 security was definitely a plus. However, the poor air conditioned downstairs, uncomfortable sofa bed (with cig burn), and the placement of shower (very inxconvenient for tall people), was the downside. Good thing we were out most of the time.

pretty lady at checking in forgot to "de-lock"the bar so we couldn't access for diet coca cola and water for 2 days not understanding what was happening. Breakfast delivred at 7.30 am (not cool when you worked overnight )as the previous day instead of indicated 10.30 on the second day. etc...

The hotel is quite welcoming, with a young and friendly team. Room size is reasonable for Paris. The location, while very central, can be a bit problematic as the street has a restricted access, and makes it difficult for cars (taxis, uber, etc) to get to the hotel. Check-out process a little lengthy.

Our stay was very pleasant. The beds and furnishings were most comfortable. The front desk and concierge staff were very helpful. Our only complaint would be with reference to housekeeping not being consistent. One day we would be short a bath towel and the next a hand towel.

Not a 5 star experience, and not worth the money

The staff was very nice and accommodating. But the fitout of the hotel was not commensurate with the 5 star rating and the cost of the rooms. The amenities were not substantial. And, most importantly, the room was not air conditioned. We stayed during a very hot period in Paris, and the room was uncomfortable and not cool enough. We actually went to other hotels (George V and the Crillon) to relax and have drinks because the Sofitel was not cool or comfortable. For these reasons, I will not return. And I will not recommend the hotel to friends going to Paris.
