« Well located pleasant stay, but both rooms lacked the services stated »

It was a pleasant stay. The hotel was well located for us to be able to visit family near to the hotel. Unfortunately of the two rooms booked, the Priveledge room never had the mini-bar restocked on the second day, and the Superior Double Room never had a duvet for the duration of the stay. This was despite both roos being cleaned where these faults should have been picked up. I was initially relucatant to stay with Accor, having been messed around by the customer services team in May, for points that were never added to my original account for a stay in the Mercure at Les Arc 1800 in April 2017. As I changed email address, the activation email was sent incorrectly and thus the points were deemed out of time, despite never being added in the first place. I have yet to check if they have been added this time.

« Good experience to stay in this beautiful building »

We stayed in this beautiful hotel for 3 days. It was nice experience to stay here at least once because the beautiful architecture and the age of the building. The room was very spacious and with a nice balcony. It was not easy to find and access to the hotel however the metro station and bus station just outside of the door so it will be very convenient if you want to travel to another city by bus. Our room was not cleaned the first day although we put the sign up and the second day the room was cleaned but they forgot to stock up our fridge and we had to call for drinks which they were never arrived. Internet was very good.

We stayed one night. The service, the view from the balcony and the rest of the room were great. We felt like the breakfast was a bit expensive, especially since only the basics seemed to be present for a hotel breakfast.

« The first contact at reception desk was awful, which affected the total experience »

The hotel is pretty good in terms of building, atmosphere, location, room comfort, physical facilities, etc. However, a very important part of the consumer experience is the front-line people approach, especially in services industry. I had a very disappointing experience with the reception team (guided by Mr.Pauwel?). We came to Lyon by a rented car and chose the hotel because of the closeness to the Gar Perrache. However, the agency informed us very late that we should leave the car at Port Dieux; so my husband left us at Perrache by thinking that we can rest at the hotel a bit with my daughter. Full of stress caused by the misinformation by the agency we entered the hotel, it was really hot, we were tired due to our trip from Nice, mostly with traffic jam, feeling insecure in a different city that we did not know beforehand. We had a reservation from booking.com, I said our name. However I realized that I left my purse at my husband's bag, but I had our passports. We were there at the reception with 3 valises, and we explained the situation saying that my husband will come in almost twenty minutes -emphasizing that I am not sure about the duration because we are strangers in the city- I said that we are really tired and need to have a shower. The manager did not allow us to enter the room, saying that it's a part of the protocol, put our valises at the luggage room and said that we can wait or go to the bar. I could not go to the bar, because I did not have money. I ask where is the toilette and get washed my head (the hot weather is bad for me, I have high blood tension and I use pills). During our wait at the lobby nobody did care about us, did not think even to offer a glass of water (however, an hotel with 3 stars at Nice made a very gentle offer of coffee and cookies "after" we finished to be a customer of the hotel). Here, I think, the most important is to make the payment to begin the customer experience journey, but believe me, it is not the case from the customer's point of view! So, my husband came, made the payment, etc. When I told my negative perceptions about the process to Mr.Pauwell, he answered me by saying that he directed me to the bar!!! It is unacceptable this manner for such an hotel like yours. I really suggest you to revise your staff training if you really care about the consumer experience. Although they can let us into the room by taking our passports, I can understand still if the "protocol" does not allow them. But, the way they approach to a potential customer and the manner the manager responds to my inquiries was really awful. I am really sorry about this experience. We had a 10 days trip in France, beginning by Paris, we stayed at Bordeaux, Montpellier, Marseille, Nice, maybe your hotel was at the top in appearance, but absolutely ranked the lowest when it is asked my total experience. I hope something? will be done based on this consumer feedback; I will be more than happy to learn about it, being a professor of marketing and teaching cıonsumer experience at my courses.
