« Nice staff but hotel needs a renovation »

Overall We found the staff friendly and helpful. One of the attractions was having a ‘private beach’ which we were informed at arrival was closed. I wish we knew this before. The hotel is clean but compared to other Mercure hotels this is in need of a renovation. Our bathroom was spectacular BUT the room itself looked to be from the 70’s or 80’s. Some of the wood was scratched by the TV.

Bedroom was a little dark and looked straight into the windows of the apartments opposite but however was functional. Hotel pool was small and it was disappointing that the beach facility was closed. Staff were extremely helpful and in general we enjoyed our stay.

« Not up to expectations »

The entrance is badly accessed by a blocked off road. The hotel shows no Mercure signage. The entrance to the hotel is underwelming and therefore the arrival experience is not good. The barman was not interested and in my company would be removed. He was worse than just being French. The whole hotel is tired and not fit to be a Mercure.

« Dissappointing »

The hotel does not exhibit any branding of Accor or Mercure which is unsettling when you arrive.The hotel is tired. my taxi could not access the front of the hotel.The barman was rather grumpy and could not care less.The road outside is uninspiring and there is construction nearby.

We stayed one week and had the most relaxing stay. The hotel is quiet and the staff are very nice. We could not fault anything. They were able as well to cater for gluten free which was really nice

« A one night stay so that we could enjoy a beach party . »

Check in staff were not particularly helpful and certainly not welcoming ( with exception of person assigned to Park our car). Room was good though a lot of noise nearby as other rooms were still being cleaned ( 4pm.) . Balcony view was a building site- work started at 0830 the next morning. Final annoyance was being charged 6 Euros for a bottle of water from the mini bar ( clearly shown as 4:50/€ on the menu). I wasn’t going to quibble- I shouldn’t have to! I was delighted to find a complementary bottle as a welcome to our room at our next hotel stop. - The Mercure in Millau. Perhaps something to think about?

Even though the Carlton ne t door were in full renovation mode. Manager Lorenzo changed our room to prevent us hearing drilling all day. The whole experience was totally enjoyable with no issues.

so so, many guests are allowed to smoke in the room, although you say that officially they are not, in reality you don't really care if they do, the receptionist very well knew that many guests smoke in the room, but those guests are not told to stop doing so, the room next to mine had guests smoking non stop, and the smoke was going into my room, and it ruined my entire stay. Your accomodation is very tired and long needs renovating. Receptionists are slightly rude and very cold, I was paying over 600 euros for the night and was being spoken to like he is doing me a favour by even speaking to me

« Good but the hotel needs some renovation »

We had a good experience and the staff members were very helpful and friendly. The hotel’s location is excellent and it’s comfortable and clean. I liked the wooden floors in the rooms as they are much more hygienic. However, the common areas need some work to make the experience more pleasant.

« Great Stay At Hôtel Mercure Cannes Croisette Beach »

The hotel is in a fantastic location between Rue D'Antibes and La Croisette and the rooms and communal areas are very clean and nicely presented. I recommend the associated beach, there is a fee to use it, as with all Cannes private beaches, but there is a discount via the hotel - make sure the hotel book this for you and provide you with a voucher to present to avoid any confusion and issues.

« Professional staff and located in a good location, but hotel needs a refurbishment to keep a 4 star rating in my opinion. »

Professional staff who tried to help us with any questions. Pool was way too small for a hotel of this size. Booked and paid extra for a room with a balcony but was never informed that the balcony actually overlooked a construction site next door. Never used the balcony because of this reason as there was no view and because of the construction noise. Would never have paid for the balcony if i knew of this situation.

The room did not correspond at all to what was advertised and what we expected. Air conditioning was not adequate. The temperature was set too high. 18 degrees. Coffee at breakfast was terrible. Too weak. One day there were no croissant. The room was not up to the standard of a 4 star hotel. Old furniture. The bed was awful, not comfortable.

The reception staff are great. Always a warm friendly welcome and they go out of their way to make sure each guest has a good stay. The rooms are clean and well appointed, the shower is amazing. The one thing that was consistently disappointing was the service, both in the restaurant at the hotel and the beach. This is not a staffing level issue. There were plenty of staff. They were just making sure they looked busy so they could ignore the guests. Straighten this, put some flyers out, wipe a table, talk to each other. It was a mission each morning to get some one to take our drinks order. No one came to our table, we had to go and find a member of staff to ask. As they are all experts in not engaging with the guests at all costs, this was on some mornings, quite a challenge. With the staff to guest ratio for breakfast, we should have been looked after exceptionally. We actually felt more like an inconvenience. We were with you for a week, the bad service was consistent throughout. The beach was even worse. It was the worst dining experience of the entire week including the meals we had out. When we finally got it, the food was good. Again it was the serving staff and what appeared to be lack of management that let you down considerably. When we finally (points to us for persistence) managed to get a waiters attention, we did get an apology for the wait and a free beer, after we pushed a little we also got some bread to eat whilst we continued to wait. The beer was a nice token, but we were actually hungry. If they had brought the bread earlier and advised us earlier that the kitchen was busy, it would have been a completely different dining experience. Again there was a complete lack of customer focus. Having finished our meal, again the waiting staff were no where to be seen. I stood in the main area for a few minutes and was again ignored. So we went back to our sun beds. We were at the beach for another two full hours. No attempt was made to speak to us at all during this time. We assumed therefore that everything was being charged back to the room. Which was fine, we were happy with this. It was only on our return to the hotel we had a call to say we needed to go back and pay. A bad dining experience was compounded by having to go back yet again. When we did go back, it was mid morning. 4 members of staff were stood talking at the beach diary station. Ignoring the two guests who were waiting before us. Having finally realised that the annoying customers were not going to go away they came to see what they wanted. Then completely ignored us as they went off to do something else. Finally I got to pay my bill. Please apologise on my behalf to your staff that I inconvenienced them into having to actually do something. Please be assured we will not be back inconvenience them future and will make sure non of our friends or colleagues (our party consisted of a West End leading Actor and a Senior Hotelier) do them the discourtesy of using their facilities.
