Excellent! My wife who has mobility problems really appreciated the little lifts instead of having to go up the steps. The food was exceptionally good and very charmingly served. In better weather we would have really enjoyed our room's terrace. We will certainly hope to come again!

Hotel is a great building and location, it does lack parking other than off site which i was disappinted about. We found there to be no staff avaliable to carry bags into the hotel and found the staff levels generally below what we expect of 5 star hotel service which also applies to the amenites.

Our stay at this lovely site in Cabourg was tarnished by a glitch in the system of checking our credit prior to arrival at the hotel. Thinking that someone had compromised my CC, I asked my bank to cancel my card. Needless to say, this was very unexpected and we were left with anxious feelings financially. In discussing this with the hotel manager upon our arrival, we only received an "I'm Sorry!" I explained that we have never had our CC challenged, and there was no mention of this as possibly happening when we booked our stay. We would recommend that Accor Hotel mention this in the future to those who would choose to stay at your facilities.

We loved our stay at Le Grand Hotel Cabourg. Our family of 4 stayed in the 2-bedroom suite, and we had lots of space to spread out. My teenagers loved the robes and slippers as well as the shower that had 2 heads and a light that changed colors. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We have stayed at an Airbnb as well as 2 other hotels during our trip, and this was by far our favorite!

It was just perfect: a beautiful view on the sea, the room was very clean, the service excellent. We could rent bikes for a very reasonable price. The room service for the dinner was very good.

We just love the staff & attention they afford us. It has become part of our life to visit this hotel & see Cindy & her colleagues. In fact, we remember Cindy joining the Hotel 15 years ago. We used to visit 2 or 3 times a year, BUT we are retired now & only get there once a year for my wife's birthday on 7th April. We have ALWAYS stayed in our usual room 206 for each of the 36 years we have visited. The hotel restaurant & food is quite excellent, a great chef !

Overpriced - magic didn't happen!

For 430€ per night in a 5* hotel in a non-premium location like NYC, Paris or London, you'd expect the best and some magic and luxury. And that didn't happen: - we were said the room was ready but when we arrived in the room, house keeping was just starting. So, we stayed in the corridor for 15+ min hoping they would finish, but it lasted much longer. - then we asked the front desk to be notified when the room is really ready. They didn't call... Second deception at check-in. - No welcome in the room either, like a snack (I would have expected a couple of madeleine for example), or no welcome letter. - when trying to find a table at the bar in the evening, we were told with an unfriendly tone "not this one, this is for a family. You seat in the lobby by the entrance". So we left. Not even close to be a nice experience! - overall, while the room was nice, there was no magical touch that makes you feel you're in a special place (example: super amenities or fresh flowers...) - the lobby is impressive but when you look at details, it feels a bit short for the standard they claim: worn carpet by the stairs for example. - same thing for service: while the service was OK, we felt no personalisation or specific attention that made us feel welcomed. And, again, for this level of price, being just OK is not OK. - the breakfast was good but, again, not exactly the level you'd expect (example: no waffle, limited bread choice, no brioche, limited choice of fresh fruits, limited choice of cold cuts, hot dishes limited to scramble eggs, bacon and potatoes...). And asking an extra for eggs if you want your breakfast in bed is mean. Positive aspect: vegs are organic. So, I would be very happy for a 150€ stay but it felt very short of expectations for 430€. It feels like the Proust legacy made this hotel very arrogant and too proud of themselves: it's a nice, premium hotel but not Luxury.

Néanmoins, cela ne justifie pas le fait que vous n’ayez pas été appelé ensuite pour vous tenir informé et nous aurions dû vous adresser une attention afin de vous prouver notre implication suite à ce désagrément. Je vous prie donc d’accepter toutes nos sincères excuses car cela n’est absolument pas représentatif de notre savoir-faire. J’ai également lu l’ensemble de vos commentaires concernant votre petit déjeuner, l’accueil au sein de notre bar et votre ressenti au sujet de votre chambre. Votre avis est très précieux pour nous et je vous remercie de nous en avoir fait part. Je peux vous assurer que nous saurons tenir compte de vos remarques et j’espère que nous aurons la chance de vous recevoir à nouveau afin de vous faire oublier ce mauvais souvenir. Hôtel room was good. However, was very disappointed because hôtel was not complying to Accor club gold rules: - room was not garanted 3 days in advance. We could therefore Book only 1 night. - we could be upgraded, despite rooms were available on the website !

We spent a great time with the package for Marcel Proust's Goncourt Centuary Celebrations. The hotel presentation and the description of Cabourg was a first for us. The conferences around dinning and living were well organized with a lot of references to Marcel Proust bibliography. The Gala Dinner was the best time especially with some cuttings of food which are still trying to repeat at home. The rooms were at the right level for this category of hotel and the breakfast was also an unforgettable experience.

Excellent except there is no swimming pool in the spa.

Dear Sir, Being a "Monument historique," our hotel cannot be transformed to incorporate a swimming-pool, the spa may seem quite small but it is the best we can do and a mere "plus" for our clients. Yet we are currently in talks with the city of Cabourg to attach the city pool to the Grand Hôtel. I had chosen the hotel because from past experience the level of service , quality of the rooms and the selection of dishes is in my opinion (and those of my fellow travelers - we were 9 in all) would be hard to be bettered. Once again the Hotels team showed a level of commitment to the residents that impressed me and rendered our stay a memorable one. From breakfast to evening dining to room staff to bar staff to reception and porters , all the personnel perform their role to perfection and with a joie de vivre that shows their pleasure in their respective roles.... many thanks to all for this exceptional Xmas experience !!
