« A favourite hotel of mine »

Arrived on Friday afternoon and found reception and parking more difficult than usual as the hotel was busy. Staff not so attentive as on previous stays but hotel is lovely and bedroom excellent. Will be returning in September.

« Not as good as usual. »

We love this hotel and the staff, and have stayed here perhaps ten times, however this time we were given a balcony room with a bath and not a separate shower and as I have had my hips replaced, it was very difficult to get into. Unfortunately the hotel was full so we were unable to change rooms. This room also had extremely limited wardrobe space and so one of us was unable to unpack their suitcase for the whole of our stay. I would also have been pleased to hear in advance of the building work that was going on as it was very noisy and we could have easily changed our holiday dates. However the staff were as lovely as ever and the Sunday brunch wonderful, it has not put us off returning to the hotel, but next time I will book direct with reception to ensure there are no unforeseen problems.

« Very nice stay »

As usual, our stay at the Grand Hotel was great. I was just a bit (a lot) disappointed that my madeleines were not ready on time. I ordered the night before leaving and they weren’t ready at 10:15 the next day. Our suite was beautiful and I appreciate the Bigelow products.

« Perfect stay for a short weekend »

We didn't have a lot of time to scroll in the street, going to a beach or searching for a good restaurant to dine. I was looking for a place that had it all keeping our short and precious stay as comfortable as possible. The Grand Hotel in Cabourg was perfect for this purpose. A beautiful setting along the sea, in front of the pedestrian street of the city center with a gastronomic restaurant that exceeded our expectations. The hotel crew was joyous and relaxed. « Grand as the name suggests »

Chose the hotel for the perfect location overlooking the ocean along promenade, not far from the 1944 memorial sites and museums. Everything at the hotel was maticulously organized to provide utmost comfort, from the attension to details by the staff, to the large rooms provided with all the necessities and amenities for a comfortable stay. Breakfast was a highlight and a time to look forward to and enjoy the nice variety of food and drink along with the ocean view. The town of Cabourg is also a pleasant place to enjoy, and the proximity of the commercial street of avenue de la mer being at a walking distance from the hotel adds to the convenience

A unique experience at a reasonable cost. Unforgettable stay in room with sea view and terrace. Not very much to do in Caborg itself, but close to beautiful Route du cidre and pretty places like Villiers-sur-mer, Arromanches and Beuvron-en-Auge. Thumbs up!

« Excellent service, beautiful hotel, tech could be improved »

We had a nice stay at the hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. Beautiful hotel, nice location, great breakfast buffet, but rather expensive. Not impeccable however: our mattress was dirty on the side (large stain) and the room service card was already filled out. Also a pity that the bathroom speaker was not connected, and it was impossible to connect a smartphone / Spotify to the television or any sound system. Television was not 'smart' either, and the Wifi was terribly slow. These things are becoming quite a standard feature in many hotel rooms and the average Airbnb's, so we had expected no less from a Sofitel hotel.

« Excellent apart from minor irritations »

It is some years since we stayed before this visit. It was good to find that high standards have been maintained. Welcoming, good clean comfortable room, it is a pleasure to be able to sit in comfort. A minor irritation was the failure to supply adquate tea bags and the lack of milk, as opposed to cafe cream. The one failure was the inadequate lighting, we just couldn’t see to read. Helpful staff especially on the desk. Food. Good breakfast but coffee could have been warmer. Really nice dinner but with perhaps a little too much time to digest between courses!

« An excellent stay - home away from home »

We keep returning to this hotel as not only is it an exquisite place to stay but the personnel at every post are excellent ambassadors for the hotel. Present, helpful, discreet they are exceptional in what they do. To cap it all the Balbec dining and the breakfast lay out is excellent and a special thank you is neccesay to the chef and his team.
