« Good location, comfortable hotel, hot rooms, poor air-con, no natural ventilation »

Stayed 3 nights, first time in Bordeaux. Selected hotel on location and booked via Accor website. HOtel in in aging Meriadeck shopping precinct which is a bit of a concrete jungle. It had some relieving factors with Esplanade Charles de Gaulle to break it up and you can enter the rear of the hotel from that level. The location is good close to Linea 1 bus stop to and from the airport. The shopping mall and large supermarket are across the street. You can walk to the Cathedral, to palace Rohan and Porte Dijeaux down to Place de la Bourse, Rue St Catherine and place de la Comedie or Opera House. Did 37361 steps walking on the Saturday- lots of scope. The staff are friendly and very helpful, the hotel is busy and breakfasts were good. Room has the ubiquitous 'nepresso machine' if you like that sort of thing. Regular coffee or tea kettle provided also. Only gripe really was the temperature in the rooms. Best sleep is 16-18 deg celsius but the room was 24-25 degree even with the air-con truned down to 5deg and max fan, it blew out warm air at 24 degrees. This is getting to stroke or myocardial infarction (heart attack) increased risk levels. On raising this with the receptionist, the solution was a fan, which just blew hot air about and made lots of noise. The hexagonal windows were locked so no natural ventialtion was possible and this seems to be a recurring problem noted by guests for this hotel, although the nice receptionist said she had no complaints for other rooms. Few restaurants close by although some good ones on Rue George Bonniac and Rue St Semin but you have to book well in advance and they don't take bookings on line.

« Usual high standered »

this was our second visit to Bordeaux. The first 45 years ago for out honeymoon. We found the staff at all times cheerful and helpful. A good selection for breakfast. Complementary drinks in our fridge which were very welcoming after a day sightseeing.

Most thing were fine, however the rooms are far to hot and no ability to get any fresh air into the room, windows are permanently sealed. Whilst quiet, the excessive heat ruled out any possibility of a good nights sleep. Breakfast was inconsistent in quality, although staff in the restaurant and in reception were very polite and helpful

Poor management, worst security controls. Other people can use their room card to access your room in the early morning and the hotel cannot figure out what's going on in the security system.

« The room was too starkly decorated, the hotel too outdated, and the bed too uncomfortable for a 4-Star rating. It would be difficult to give it a 3. »

The walls were a bright white, with old posters of old movies and old movie stars on the walls that had zero decorative value. The bed was hard as a rock. I’ve stayed at 3-Star hotels that were nicer. It was overall a very disappointing experience.

« Room for improvement but not a bad hotel »

Nice hotel, modern, clean and quiet in the heart of the city. Disappointed by the complete absence of toiletries in our room on arrival... Not even soap to wash our hands! The room was a great size. I gave myself a second degree burn on the bedside lamp which has a metal shade which gets extremely hot. I'm also disappointed we were required to pay a €100. security deposit and a fortnight later this still hasn't be refunded to our credit card.
