Overall OK apart from following points: Internet is very slow We ordered with 3 people the sole meuniere in restaurant and it was really not edible, there was way too much lemon on the fish. When we brought this point to the waitress, she said that this is how it is supposed to be, she was not very friendly and did not do anything to change our bad experience.

« Lovely wheelchair friendly room »

Huge room, lots of space for the wheelchair and a fabulous wet room with acres of space! One of the best accessible rooms we have ever found. Plenty of car parking, good choice of restaurants nearby; the hotel restaurant was closed on Sunday night but there are various (chain style restaurants) within a few minutes walk. Friendly helpful check in staff (Julien) who spoke good english. Delightful hotel, ideal for motorway access.

« Pleasant hotel, large and comfortable rooms but room service menu could be improved . »

I had broken my ankle while on holiday in France and we wanted a dog-friendly hotel to break our return journey to Calais where we could get a ground floor room as I was on crutches. We were a little worried when we saw pictures on the website of steps leading up to the entrance but we needn't have worried as we were able to drive up to one of three disabled parking slots right by the entrance and I was able to get into the hotel on the level. We had requested an accessible room on the ground floor as close to reception as possible. Our request had been granted and our allocated room was not too far from reception. It was a lovely large room with an enormous accessible bathroom (although both the room and bathroom could have done with more lighting - there was no lighting at all over the shower/wet room part). There was a nice patio, accessible via a large glass door, with a grassy bank just beyond which was great for taking the dog out. Although the hotel has a restaurant, we decided it would be easier to order from room service. The food was very expensive and came in a large jar (like a Killner jar)! Although tasty, it didn't look very appetising. All the staff spoke good English and were very helpful. Apart from improving the room service menu, the only other thing that would have made our stay perfect would have been the availability of a wheelchair to ease the journey to/from the room but that is probably asking too much.

The rooms need an urgent update, with shower glass door swinging inwards whilst being used, an unsightly corner gap between the bathroom floor and wall, general scruffy appearance, extremely low water pressure. This is not what I expect from an Accor hotel, although I have noticed a general slide in standards over the past 16 years.

« Rooms fine for dog owners and their dog »

Room is fine, the bed comfortable. The exterior of the hotel looking very tired. Not providing dinner on certain days is not a problem, there are many food outlets nearby. I preferred to eat elsewhere as the meal I had on a previous trip was not too good. The room was handy as it opened out onto the grassland so handy for the dog.

« No air conditioning. Company says it's winter. Room at 26 degrees having been in the sun all day. »

We (used to) stay here a lot as it's a convenient night stop between channel ports and S of France. Last time we arrived just before 8 pm after a long sunny day - the room was very hot & stuffy, so turned on the air conditioning switch. Nothing. No fan, no cooling. Electric towel heater was on too, which didn't help. Went to duty receptionist to be told that there was nothing he could do as "September is winter, so the company turns off the air-conditioning.". Whaaat?!! He could only suggest that we open the window. (But if you do that, you can't shut the curtain and you get all the traffic noise from the busy junction, which is presumably why the windows are double glazed in the first place. Very cheapskate policy for a supposedly four star hotel. Luxury? I don't think so. Come on Accor Hotels, show some common sense and consideration for your customers.

Bathroom could be more efficient with a walk in shower instead of a bath tub where you need to shower in, as this is not that easy

« Better than it looks, but not worth the price »

Outside looked terrible, inside much better. Room OK , but bathroom had shower in rusty bath. Food in restaurant very poor and overpriced but the few nearby restaurants looked far worse or were little more than fast food joints. The next Mercure we stayed at was substantially better and although not advance purchase was 15% cheaper as was the in Chartres opposite the Cathedral was far better again but at a far cheaper price. I would value the hotel at about half the price paid and this for an aged motorway stop.

« Pleasant hotel with very helpful staff »

The hotel was clean and well-appointed. The staff were very helpful and their English was very good. When booking, I had asked for the bed to be made up with sheets and blankets, rather than a duvet, and this had been done (not all places seem to be able to manage this). I would highly recommend this hotel as an overnight stop for those travelling from the channel ports to the south of France.

« Room was nice but the breakfast was poor »

We stayed at this hotel on 1st September 2017. The room itself was very nice - clean, spacious and light. The only issue with the room was that the climate control did not work so we couldn't make the room warmer or colder. Other than this, I have no complaints with the room at all. The hotel itself was easy to find and convenient to get to. The building looks a bit tired from the outside so I was not expecting great things when I went into the reception area. That said, the reception area, bar and restaurant areas were all nicely decorated and pleasantly modern. I do have some criticisms of the hotel though. The "fitness suite" was just a regular hotel room with no carpet and 3 exercise machines in it - not what I was expecting at all. The restaurant was probably intended for business travellers but there was no kids menu so we had to ask if they could cook a smaller version of one of the dishes. The biggest problem though was with the breakfast. It was very poor. The cooked food was dry and uninviting - so much so that we didn't have any. There were very few pastries available and those that were there did not taste great - certainly not freshly made. The coffee machine was broken so we had to use a pod machine. My wife drinks tea and the tea was also not good. If you are just need a room then this hotel is quite good but the breakfast is overpriced and not very nice.

We love staying at Mercure Val de Reuil. The rooms are very comfortable, spacious and quiet. However they have recently taken to asking for our credit card - despite us paying in advance. We are not happy about handing our card to anyone having heard horror stories in the past about cards being cloned. They do not seem happy when we refuse to give them our card and are sorry to say that if this continues we might have to find another hotel

« An enjoyable stopover. »

Friendly staff. Very helpful when I telephoned to book. It was pleasing to have adjoining rooms as this really our family. Rooms were clean and quite spacious. Breakfast was good, with a good variety of fresh food. However the eggs and sausages were not available at the time we were eating and so possibly a little more effiency would improve the breakfast further.

« Good for stop over, but a bit far out of town for a base to explore local surroundings »

Nice hotel, facilities ok and staff very helpful, but a bit of a distance from nearest town. Although plenty of reasonable 'chain' restaurants in the nearby location. Broadband speed and connectivity was very poor during my stay (I did mention it, but nothing happened) and this would probably mean that I wouldn't return.
