Had to wait 20mn for checking in. Seems to have lots of interns at the reception and restaurant. Everything else was fine

When deciding where to stay for our D-Day tour the Mercure Hotel Omaha Beach seemed the perfect choice. And it was for the location. The hotel itself needs a face lift. It sits on a 36 hole golf course which is very nice, the Omaha Beach can be seen as well. The hotel rooms need to be renovated. The beds seem to be laying on flat surfaces without box springs. They sat much lower to the ground. The furnishings are dated as well. The only real bar is the lobby bar next to reception. Reception staff also mans this area which can make it awkward during check in of new guests. Towels in the bathroom were definitely older, thin, subpar. The restaurant on site was not good. We dined there on two nights and found the food average at best. One night I ordered filet of pork which I thought would be pork tenderloin. What I received was bacon wrapped ham shank. Wife ordered a steak that was grossly overcooked, well done. Both nights each of us attempted to order one of two salmon starters listed on the menu but received the other, even though I pointed to the one I wanted on the menu. 2nd night I ordered fish and chips and got fish sticks with chips. It was good but not what I expected. On the plus side the reception staff was great, very helpful and accommodating. And again, if your touring the D-Day invasion area the hotel location is perfect. Just plan on dining else where. As far as price goes, its a little overpriced for what you get but again, location is worth something.

We had a short family break, took a duplex room which looked like nothing on the web site as was dark and on the top floor with no lifts. There was a fire alarm at 6am on the first morning and we evacuated our room. There was one other couple in reception when we got there and not hotel staff! I would question the staff had no idea what to do in the event of a fire alarm. The breakfast was good. We ate in golf club restaurant the first night and not again due to the limited menu.

booked room for 3 persons , only enough towels for 2 had to ask for more . also only enough tea and coffee for 2 had to ask for more then only got sent a cup no more milk or coffee . went for breakfast in the morning the person dealing with breakfast did not say anything not a bonjour - good morning or any comment at all

We enjoyed the hotel very much. It was chosen because of the location in Normandy being quite near the ferry port of Ouistreham. Your hotel staff ensured that all our requirements were met. The room was most satisfactory and our dining experience in the Albatross was fantastic. The quality of the food was of the highest order as was the service we received. Our arrival was met by a beautiful smile from Chloé at reception and that set the tone for a memorable, albeit, short stay. We have previously stayed several times at the Grand Hotel, Cabourg.

Our stay was very good. Room smelled a little musty but may have just been the time of year. Toilet has an awkward positioning. Great, convenient location. Restaraunt was quiet pricy for what we actually got and needs a chicken option. Overall staff was super friendly and helpful and the hotel was very nice.

I arrived early and had the Brunch while waiting for my room. Outside at the barbecue, I ordered the chicken and was told to get seated and they would bring it to me in 10 minutes. They took my order and gave it to another customer so I had to go back outside and reorder and continue waiting. As for the food, the only thing I liked was the wine. At checkin, I told the lady what happened with my lunch and she told me that she would talk to “someone” about giving me a break on the price. Of course, nothing was said or done about it. The ladies at Reception were friendly and helpful with my questions. The room was fine but I don’t like the bedding which is one piece. It might be ok during cold weather but it’s way too hot for warmer weather. I prefer a separate sheet from blankets. Last summer, I spent in Europe and brought a sheet from home to use instead of the one piece sheet/blanket which is in all the hotels now. I seriously object to the one piece bedding.

A clean and comfortable hotel with friendly and helpful staff whose English was excellent. Good food in the restaurant at a good price. The hotel is only a 10 minute walk from Port en Bessin and you can get a reasonably priced taxi back if you don't feel like walking back up the hill.

1/ Hot water took 12 minutes to come. 2/ Bed sheet stained (picture given to reception) 3/ Air conditioning not working. As a result of very warm room we did not sleep the whole night Experience so bad that manager did not charge us for the night.
