Overall the experience was an improvement on our last visit and the service at the bar was much, much better. However, the restaurant service had deteriorated. It was very slow and the wine waiter brought us the wrong wines twice.

Newly refurbished hotel Great stay apart from Dog was barking in a near by room and also barking and eating from table in restaurant it also licked all the sugar packets on the next table which I didn’t like. I did tell the staff but they didn’t seem bothered.

After renovation, everything looked refreshed and modernized, rooms are ok, bathroom still small (we stayed on the fourth floor). No snacks available at the bar except chips ( we arrived at 15.30). Perfect stop over for us traveling up and down from Luxemburg to Provence.

The renovations are top notch, you would have got 10 but for two things We needed to pay the restaurant direct for our meals due to our ore-paying for our room and the new check-in process however the payment machines did. It connect well so we couldn’t pay through them and instead had to have the charge transferred to our bill so we could pay with a receptionist. The new look dinner menu was not up to the same quality as the previous one, breakfast was still top notch though

I WAS TOLD DURING MY RESERVATION CALL THAT THE ROOM HAD A COFFEE MACHINE. THERE WAS NO COFFEE MACHINE. The room is very small. The table in the room is also very small.

The plastic cups in the bathroom are SOOO CHEAP that it is an insult to the guest. If you are lucky enough to open the cellophane wrapping of a cup, you probably will break the cup and then, as the plastic is so thin you might end up cutting your hand. Awful. Stingy cheap. As I said, an insult. The same for the paper cups for tea/coffee. So small and only two cups. You leave in the room so little coffee that, again, it is insulting. In a room that was fully renovated only a week ago the handle of the bathroom tap was coming off. Why ? Why does the guest have to be the one that discovers this fault.?? DO Novotel not have anybody checking for repairs? Did anybody from Novotel management check the quality of materials and fixtures that the builder is using? The quality of the construction work is so poor that it all looks like it will fall apart in six months. I hope you notice it in good time before your builder is paid. On another matter, a male employee of the bar/dining room does not stop touching his nose to then touch cups and plates that he hands over to clients with drinks / food / etc. The question is: has there been any training? Is there a manager of food and beverage to teach this gentleman the basics of hygiene?? Who trains? Who manages? Who manages the managers? Good hotel management demands more than just fancy modern decoration. It demands professionalism and it seems missing at the Beaune Novotel. Thank you for reading this far.

Good welcome with helpful receptionist and enjoyable welcome drink. The restaurant food was very good. The refurbished rooms were good and the adjoining rooms were thoughtfully equipped with either a bath or walk in shower.

Should have been great but ruined by paint fumes

The hotel and staff were great. But our room 330 had recently been painted and the paint fumes made it difficult to sleep and also left us all wheezing the next morning. We did complain to staff and they told us to get in touch to head office. I tried to fill out your online form but this would not work. The fumes really were unbearable. We have let Booking.com know about this and ideally would like some form of compensation as it did ruin the night.
