Room was good. . What is not acceptable is to find piece of plastic with the bacon in the breakfast of the morning. So this from my point of view is a big complaint, not acceptable. I was giving evidence of this to the your people in the room, but seem to me that was not the first time.

I stay in this hotel virtually every week and have not had any complaints until recently. As a Platinum Accor club member I receive a complementary drink, I always enjoyed a whisky but this has recently been stopped. It may seem like a small thing but it is small things like this that would prejudice me against staying with your chain in the future.

I had asked for sleeping arrangement on the floor as I cannot sleep on soft mattress. I normally request this to all hotels where ever I go and stay. As has been my experience with other hotels i was expecting a small carpet or yoga mat and some cloth sheet made available to me. Normally at other hotels i myself rearrange the room furniture and make space for my sleeping area where i lay the small carpet or yoga mat and cloth sheet. However, when i reached Mercure room given to me, i was sweetly surprised to see that my bed was carefully made on the floor, and all i had to do is just doze off and take rest. Thanks a lot!

When I arrived Sunday morning @ 10am to check-in the front desk employee, a lady, was very rude to me. She did not greet me or say hello, I walked up to the desk and before I could even speak to her she rudely told me there were no rooms available. I had paid extra to have an early arrival check-in and told her this & she continued to be rude to me, I had to give her my name & ask her to check my reservation before she would even look at my reservation. Very very rude. When I checked out Thursday morning I had left my luggage & I came back around 5:30pm to get my luggage and the same lady from Sunday morning was very rude to me again. I walked up to the desk to give her my luggage tag and she did not speak to me, I asked for my luggage and she was rude to me. She snatched up my tag and went to get my luggage, she gave me the wrong luggage. I told her that was not my luggage and she was very rude to me, then she got my luggage and all but threw it out in the hall and did not bring it to me. I told her she was being very rude and she just laughed at me. Terrible experience with this lady.

Room was very small and in a generally poor state of repair. No desk at all. Bathroom also needed redecorating. Yet the price was at a premium level. Very convenient location, but I think I will look elsewhere when I visit next time.

I don't like to give a bad review, but it's justified, even though I think the staff I spoke to were doing their best. This is supposed to be a 4-star hotel (at Euro200 per night!), but there were no toiletries in the bathroom, except a small bar of soap. The bath was not non-slip and no non-slip bathmat was available. This is very dangerous for elderly people; a friend was killed by a fall in the bath. The staff didn't know the English term. The second day, there was no soap in the room. The third day, there was no bath mat. The breakfast buffet was lavish, but the bacon and sausages were over-cooked, almost cremated. I wondered why the restaurant seemed unpopular for dinner, until I saw the menu, which I considered very unattractive, considering the number of other restaurants in the area.The hotel was clean and quiet, but that is about all I can say in mitigation.
