Have stayed here quite often and it has been good but our latest stay was not a happy experience.Room smelled of smoke. Small fridge and kettle in room were unplugged and when we moved fridge to plug it in the alcove was very dusty.Rang bell in bar a couple of times but no one appeared even though the receptionists could see i was waiting. I tried using the "Fast Checkout" as normally do but receptionist ran after us in the car park saying we hadn't paid for extras even though she acknowledged she had our credit card details on my account

I have stayed here numerous times and it has been ok. This time was not good. Room smelled of smoke. Rang bell in bar twice in bar and though receptionists saw me waiting, they just continued chatting to each other but not about work and i had to go looking for someone to serve me. I have an Accor account that holds my details and credit card and i usually just have quick checkout but this time the receptionist chased us into carpark saying we hadn,t paid extras!!!!!!, but agreed she had these details but for this booking it was different but she didn,t know why. Not good service

Rooms need modernising. Bed was comfortable for a good nights sleep. The restaurant menu was good value but for a glass of small white wine to accompany it at 8 euros was overly Priced why so expensive ?? I would stay again but would take a drink elsewhere. Waiters were rude to some customers and were rushed you need more staff for a smooth runnivg. Also for breakfast no room needed to be mentioned delicious breakfast for anybody to walk in and eat for free. There should be somebody at the front desk asking for room number and show them to a table I’ve had this in other Novotel hotels. Just an advice I’m sure many people have said they didn’t have breakfast when checking’out ? Reception staff great welcome to customers. We will book again no problems

We decided to stay at Novotel thanks to their policy to accept animals. Our 2 dogs could stay with us, the staff of the hotel was very welcoming and helpful - particularly at the breakfast in the morning :) our experience booking over the phone was also excellent. The proximity of the Tesla supercharger was also a criteria to decide to stay. Many thanks for this very good experience.

« a nice hotel »

The public areas of this hotel are excellent and we were impressed with the breakfast and helpful staff. What let it down for us was the ensuite in our bedrooms which was obviously designed by someone who has never run a bath. The shower screen turned inwards over the most elaborate number of dials which were then impossible to reach. The only way to proceed was to stand in the bath which resulted in me scolding my feet while trying to establish how to get the water to the right temperature. Even if we'd been showering this would have still happened there was no instructions to explain the taps/dials. To be honest it was such hard work we gave up in the morning and reverted to using the basin for washing missing our morning shower.

Very bad nights sleep because of an alarm that repeatedly went off on the telephone in the room. No light in the toilet in the room. At 5am went down to reception & asked for help.

« A stay which met expectations »

A good stay on the way further south. Good facilities for kids to relax after a long drive (ping pong, pool,...). Room was clean and nice. The dinner menu is however not very diversified and there are not many available dishes to choose from.

Non smoking room smelt of smoke - appreciate its not the hotels fault. The menu has changed and is quite frankly weird. For example The Novotel Burger has been replaced with a burger in a toasted bun you could get from any cheap restaurant. We already have plans to avoid eating there on our return journey. When the fire alarm sounded in the morning there was no guidance from staff - in fact they seemed as confused as the guests - some of whom were still sitting being served breakfast!

We are staying at the Novotel Clermont-Ferrand several times per year when we travel to the south and also coming back, good rooms,, very good outdoor facilities swimming pool and park to relax, we will continue to return on our next travels
