The hotel was lovely but the very best part of our stay was Thiery, our concierge! He was amazing!! He got us reservations at great restaurants and made the almost impossible happen by finding last minute transportation for 16 to our wedding venue and back! He is the shining star at your hotel! Loved location of hotel. Front desk very helpful. Never could find a valet when needed. (Coming and going. ) Bar in lobby seemed short handed and pricey Need to have coffee in the lobby that is hot. Happy to pay for coffee and croissant. )Only option is $27 euros for buffet breakfast. ) coffee in room not very good. Overall experience was fine. As Noted above rooms and lobby are very nice.

« The stay was adequate but not Value for Money »

On arrival as a Gold Accor Plus’s member I expected to receive the free drinks and have conversation around a room upgrade. I got neither, and had to specifically request the following day the complimentary drinks voucher. Further on checking out I found out that I did not receive any Le Club Hotel points for the stay. This is extremely disappointing given the cost of the membership. The room itself was ok but the carpet throughout the hotel is tired , worn and needs re-lacing. It’s not what I would expect from the hotel given it quality rating.

« Nicely renovated place that needs some more focus on the details »

Nice short Business trip. Room was very good. Some more english Television programs would be nice. Breakfast was very good, but why using disposal coffee Cups for the capsule coffee? The Training device in the Fitness centre was in very bad condition. In fact using this device could be very dangerous. Maintenance is needed. I recommended to place it out of order. These devices have to be checked regulary! The lock of the door of my room was blocking it from falling to closed state. Using the keycard on leaving the room was needed in order to Close the door. A Little inconvenient. If you are not Aware of it the room is closing automatically but is than blocked and remains open! Overall nice place, but for the quite high prize the details must be prefect too.

« After having stayed at other MGallery hotels, I was expecting between service and value for money. »

The hotel is very well located in Aix, which often visit. The common areas are of suitable quality and be able to have your breakfast overlooking the pool area was nice. However, I find that the hotel lacked in three areas: (i) service; (ii) the quality of the room; and (iii) taking the membership in the Le Club into account. So upon arrival, there was no customary drink voucher (Le Club) and no upgrade (Le Club). The room was almost claustrophobic (not at all what I expected from MGallery). In terms of service, at breakfast there was a small note that you could ask for a cooked breakfast, but the staff did not ask for this so I only saw it when I had completed my breakfast the second day before checking out; so a bit disappointing. As for the bar, I ordered a "Le Memorable", which meant that the bartender would compose something for you. The waiter came back and asked what I wanted in the drink. I said that I do not have any constraints (all mixers, all kinds of alcohol and fruit would be fine). He insisted on guidance so, I said "vodka", when he then wanted more ingrédients, I said no "the whole point is to be surprised". Then the drink (which was good) was served 30 minutes later, which was too long for my company of colleagues.

The hotel is well located. The staff were excellent: professional but friendly. They happily met our requirements when we wanted only a light meal on the Monday evening. Our room was comfortable,although we did not make as much use of our terrace as we might have because the division between terraces is slight and our neighbours turned out to be smokers, which we very definitely are not. It was a shame that on Tuesday morning the coffee served with my breakfast in the room was not hot enough, because the lid 0f the coffee pot was bent and did not close properly. However we would certainly stay at the hotel again.

We stayed at Roi Rene Aix-en-Provence in May 2018. The staff at the hotel were efficient & could not have been more helpful. The front of house & valet parking was perfect. We will be staying in another Accor hotel in July, the Francis in Bath, we hope this too will meet the same exacting standards

This is our 4th visit to the Grand Hotel Roi Rene in Aix-en-Provence. We really enjoy staying here as the hotel has a 'boutique' fell to it. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very smart and the breakfast is excellent.
