Had an issue with flights and had to stay in Birmingham for the night and fly out the next morning. In need for a bed overnight and Novotel was able to accommodate, which was excellent it being a Friday night. We are Gold Members of LeClub and we were looked after well.

I was upgraded to an executive room as part of my Accor Gold Membership with the welcome drink which is great. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were a bit tired - could benefit from new bathrooms (with toliet combined in - not seperate room) and better sockets/USB ports/ connectivity etc. The room service I ordered (a pizza and some calslaw) was really not very good. The pizza was nearly cold and undercooked (the pepporini type saisgue on it was too think and chewy) the calslaw had far too much manyoanise on it... really not nice at all.

Service in the bar was excellent. We would have liked breakfast in the morning but found this very expensive. We went to the airport and got 2 breakfasts for the price of one at the Novotel. I do not think you can justify the,price you are charging.

A brief stay overnight to catch an early morning plane. Hotel is very well situated - literally across the road from Departures - and reception was efficient and pleasant, but the Superior room was very disappointing. Decor was tired and scratched, toiletries were minimal and cheap, sink was blocked, and the shower water flow low. I expect better for £170/night. It is disappointing to realise that the hotel is cashing in on locality, without maintaining the expected good standards.

« Late night, early flight »

Impressed. Not only with check in being quick due to attentive staff, I arrived with disabled partner and there was a small queue, waited a few seconds and approached by staff member to be checked in. My request for easy access room with a shower was listened to. The ambience of reception and two speedy lifts to our room on sixth floor with only about a dozen steps to the room was brilliant( not tramping the length of a corridor as in some hotels. The queen size bed very comfortable in a standard room layout, impressed with the spacious bathroom and walk in shower with anti slip mat and shower seat supplied. The restaurant was busy but were seated and did not have to book (sometimes advisable to book a time if you can), the staff were helpful explaining the meals and suggesting drinks, i can recommend the lamb as it was cooked to my request and tasted delicious. Due to erly flight check out was no problem just dropped keys into box and away we went.

I found the experience of the check n and check out quick and easy. The room was clean and bed comfortable. The bath room a little tired. The restaurant service very poor and very slow but the food was good.
