Solo travel - 20/06/2018
« Good intentions from front of house staff »

I stayed over on the way to Tokyo. It was the weekend of the BBC gardeners world live show at the NEC and there had been an accident on the runway leading to severe delays. I think the hotel must have been full as a result. The dining areas had dirty carpet and the towels in my room were stained, smelly and had hairs on them. The bed was very comfortable though and the staff were nice. There was no water pressure so the shower was a trickle. Not the usual standard but I expect this was a one off given the circumstances. I’m staying there on the way back so we shall see!

Can’t complain about the room. Had a family room of a double bed and two pull out sofa beds. Only needed one sofa bed though and a travel cot. The travel cot however did not feel like it had a mattress just a hard bottom so we had to take the sheets off the spare sofa bed and put it in the cot for a little more comfort

« Again another satisfied stay in the hotel »

No complaints about the hotel. Everything you expect of a Novotel was there. My only minor point was a few nasty looking stains in the carpet. Wouldn't like to guess what that is. That is it with the negativity. There is one thing I always look forward to is the breakfast.....the star of the show!

Very satisfactory and a very nice clean room. However, the plug hole in the bath/shower combination did not drain away at all quickly.

« Convenient but tired and poorly maintained hotel »

Check in was very easy and we did have a nice meal in the restaurant but the room décor was shabby, the beds duvet had old dried blood on it ( this was reported and changed within 15 minutes) and the pillow linen was dirty too. One of the towels in the bathroom also dirty and looked like it had been dragged across the floor.

Check in/out very quick, staff were all excellent. Room on the small side and didn't like the separate toilet. Some aspects of the room were now a bit dated.

« Comfortable, but too expensive »

We stayed overnight to facilitate an early morning flight. We had our evening meal in the hotel restaurant. I was concerned that we were charged £165 for the room when, four years earlier, we were only charged £59. I could not see improvement that equalled a nearly tripled cost!
