« Comfortable stay but not the usual Novotel standard that I am familiar with. »

Staff were friendly and overall a pleasant stay. However as a silver card member, I usually get two complementary water bottles. I was told that this is not standard is not applicable in Montreal.

Hi there, I am an Accor platinum member and I recently stayed at your hotel in Montreal (Novotel). I don’t place any value on public yelp type sites so I thought I would send you some feedback regarding my stay last Thursday. 1) your AC was not up to standard. The room did not get cool enough. 2)your sheets seem like they are polyester, they did not breathe at all and made for a very uncomfortable sleep. 3) your pillows were cheap and way too firm. Not the same quality of other Accor properties. 4) I had a 3 pm checkout and left the do not disturb sign on my door because I knew I needed extra sleep. The cleaning service disregarded the sign on the Door, banged on the door and jarred it open at 10am, waking me up and ruining my day of meetings because I was exhausted. I visit Montreal 15-20 times per year and I will not be staying at your hotel again. I’m not looking for free credits or coupons. This isn’t a nastygram, it’s genuine feedback that you should act on or pass on to the hotel operator. Regards, Matt C. (6…

« My stay met my expectations regarding ease of check-in, cleanliness and location. »

It was a comfortable room with all the amenities I required for an enjoyable stay. I arrived early and the staff offered to keep my luggage in a secured room so I could explore the city while I waited for my room. My only regret was that the hotel does not have a poo or sauna/whirlpool/steamroom.

Compared to other properties, this one provides better fitness equipment, and makes it available to guests 24 hours/da. The room is cool, the equipment works, and there is space for floor exercise. Predictably, the little drinking fountain provides a low energy stream of not very cold water. The restaurant could be fine were there to be enough staff. Each of the 11 times we were there, something was unclean, including someone's egg left stuck to a table centerpiece, crumbs on the butter plate, and so on. Staff work very hard and fast, and they're good, but there aren't enough of them. The reception people are polished professionals, competent and quick to help guests. The A/C works more quietly than at other hotels. This summer has included many very hot and humid days, and the units in the rooms at this property are quiet, and allow the guest to select temperature and fan speed. In spite of all the floors, all the people, and only two elevators, we never had to wait long for the lift. A note to parents: Our room on a top floor had a window (with a view of a dirty alley) that opened completely, an accident waiting to happen!

« Location was great - amenities not so much. »

Our room 822 had a broken window which almost fell on me when I tried to open it. The tv remote channel button didn’t work. The grate on the a/c rattled loudly every time it kicked on. The stopper in the sink was broken and required me to pry it open with my shaving scissors to drain. The front desk staff were friendly and attentive though, as was our housekeeper I have stayed at both La Crystal and the Sheraton, while close in price point, sadly, the Novotel did not delver the quality of experience we were expecting.

« I enjoyed our stay. Good location. »

The experience was good. I think the dining area could be better lit - some of the wall tables were small and dark. I missed the coffee machine that is usual in most Accor hotels. The bathroom would be better having an electric extractor. When I booked online I couldn't see a way of not ordering breakfast for the last day as I had an early flight.

« We found the hotel very clean, comfortable and the service almost perfect. »

The room was lovely and clean. Very comfortable. The restaurant was perfect, the staff amazing. The only problem we had was the telephone line was not working, and the television reception was out more than it wasn’t due to the weather(clearly not something anyone could control). The hotel staff was very accommodating and very pleasant.
