« We could find no fault with our stay in any area »

We were recognised from previous visits and welcomed by several members of the team. We were treated as if our stay was of importance to the hotel made to feel very welcome. They were courteous and friendly and worked efficiently at whatever task they were performing. Our room was clean and comfortable and equipped as expected for an executive room.

Experience was good. Main issue was the unavailbility of the pooldur to high chlorine levels. The pool was one of the reasons for coosing this hotel.

Breakfast good ..dinner bad too expensive..imitation pub food..pool good..rooms dated..location ok..over all above average.for three star.......need to put a fidge in room...PARKING FEE ridiculous......

Rooms are a bit tired - could do with updating furniture etc. Also, we were given a disabled room which does not have a very attractive bathroom. More effort could be made to make it more pleasant. The standard bathroom was much nicer. Very slow bar service. Very good breakfast and nice pool although quite small and one afternoon we were unable to use it as it was too busy.

« Clean and comfortable »

Very restful and pleasant. The changing rooms by the pool, however, were very poor. Badly need redecorating. Also no water available ar the poolside and a pile of dirty towels. Sauna not very nice. Whole area needs an overhaul.

« Reasonable but irritated by have a pre-payment for additional items without my authority »

The stay was ok. Staff could be friendlier. The receptionist couldn't address my issue with the pre-payment. I'm not sure if there was a shortage of staff at breakfast, but the waitress was very harassed and unfriendly. A very small point, and a personal one, but there is nothing worse when the staff have shirts or blouses and they are completely un-ironed. It sets the whole tone for the hotel and I am sorry to say the attitude of 'can't be bothered'. Regarding the pre-payment, I stay ever week in an accord and do not get pre-payments taken prior to checking in and specifically do not expect to have additional pre-payments take for extra items without my authority.

« Great budget hotel »

Had a good night at the Novotel Newcastle. Check in was easy and the room was a good size. We used the pool, the stairs in to it were rather wobbly and slippery. Everything else was fine.

« Once again an ideal treat for the grandkids, pool and friendly staff always a hit with them. »

We often use your hotel as a pre-flight stay and as a bit of a treat for our grand-daughters, it is local and offers exactly what we require for a brief stay . we always find all the staff friendly and helpful, the pool is perfect for the kids, being local to the north east we are familiar with the area and find the location ideal. We are on a limited income being pensioners and often find the offers tempting and will no doubt visit you in the near future.

Our stay was ok. The shower and the bathroom ceiling in room 140 need to be looked at. Shower head was leaking and this had caused ceiling paint flaking, not a very nice sight! The breakfast service was a bit slow and we had to wait about 15 minutes for fried eggs, which are usually the most popular items on any breakfast menu.

« Disturbed night in a shabby room »

Unfortunately we had a flood light directly outside our room which kept me awake. My husband was woken up on three occasions with the service door banging. The room itself was in dire need of redecoration and a deep clean. The carpets were very dirty and the walls and skirting boards were very dirty too. I did use the gym however there was no water provided as the machine was empty. I then went down to use the sauna to find it turned off, so I would have had to wait quite a while before it was ready to use. I decided to go back up. Overall our experience has put us off booking Novotel’s.p

« Decent place for family of 5 and a dog. »

The hotel exterior and lobby area was nice but the rooms and hallways are in need of updating. Pool was small but good for kids to play in.

« Nice if a little dated »

The hotel was much like other Novotel hotels, it just felt like it needed updated. The keys for the rooms were fiddly to use. The Xbox for the kids, with 1 game only, a bit disappointing. The pool being closed on Sunday morning was a real disappointment, our daughter was really looking forward to a play before we checked out. I'd stay again but would temper my expectations
