Reason for no 10 we had booked park and fly and were asked to park in section B or C. I moved car out of space to go there and there were no spaces. I then struggled to get another space and informed reception who said to leave it in A

The hotel was was nice, we felt welcomed and the room was great but the aircon in the room didn’t work and it wasn’t until we got in on the night time we realised as it’s been very hot in the day it was hard to sleep in the room. Apart from that I was happy. Aircon reported to reception in the morning.

Was not offered breakfast when I booked my room and consequently was embarrassed to be advised that I was not entitled to it. Have NOT received my VAT invoice as promised at the desk on departure. Is printing out an invoice such a difficult/costly thing to do. Please send it.

« Stay spoilt by poor experience in the restaurant on 30th June »

The rooms were fine, however our stay was marred by an awful meal in the hotel restaurant on Sat 30th June. There was a cycling event on in the hotel's conference facilities, however the kitchen was completely overwhelmed. We waited over an hour for our meals and when one of my friends' meal arrived the chicken was undercooked. She sent it back to receive a meal with still frozen cauliflower. My daughter's pizza and chips was burnt. When we spoke to the restuarant manager after waiting nearly an hour she was bondering on rude to us saying the circumstances were out of her control. This is very poor management as the hotel knew the event was on and should have staffed the kitchen accordingly. In addition, she should have gone out her way to apologise rather than be rude and defensive. She reluctantly agreed to make the childrens' meals complimentary. This conversation was before the cold & burnt meals arrived. When the issue with my friend's meal was finally resolved it was down to one of the excellent serving team members, Chelsea, who dealt with our issues and took the initiative to make our whole meal complimentary. When we asked for the restaurant manager again Chelsea was embarrased telling us that the manager was 'busy with the conference'. A manager who leaves it to their team to deal a scenario like this isn't a manager in the true sense and should be demoted. The saving grace of this meal was Chelsea who would make a better job managing the restaurant. She greeted us in a friendly way when we say down despite being rushed off her feet and was helpful throughout, including taking charge of the situation when our meal descended into disaster. She mentioned she'd applied for a team leader role which she should be immediately accepted for. At one point I went to look for the Duty Manager who I found however he immediately passed off the problem to the restaurant manager! I saw him finally stepping up and getting involved later with Chelsea briefing on what had been happening. There were other equally unhappy customers in the restaurant. As an Accor member this isn't what I expect from your hotels.

Good value for money, great location, friendly staff, breakfast good, decor needs updating. £6/day for parking needs to be taken into account when booking (could be made planned at the browsing stage). All in all it was pretty good.

I was very disappointed with the room that I stayed in (Room 201) where the decor and fixtures were shabby and the electric sockets above the desk didn’t work properly. The window frame didn’t fit properly and the noise from the adjacent A1 motorway was very intrusive. A poor night’s sleep (although the bed was comfortable). Not up to the standards that I expect from Novotel

Very disappointed with our stay at your hotel. Check in was OK but we were not advised of the facilities in the hotel or what to do for breakfast or dinner etc. On arrival at our rooms the decor of the rooms were very shabby indeed and the air conditioning in the room did not work. As it was a very warm day on the night of our stay this led to us having a very uncomfortable night. Having recently undergone back surgery this made my night even more uncomfortable. The service at the restaurant for dinner was absolutely abysmal! Despite the restaurant being very quiet we waited a ridiculous amount of time during each course of our meal. Having just had a back operation I had to stand or go for little walks during our courses as I have limited sitting time and because of the time we waited this again made for a very uncomfortable wait. Regardress if this despite only one other couple in the restaurant the wait time was unacceptable! Our prawn cocktail was very bland and my husband took a picture of his sirloin steak which was barely cooked and chewy. Unfortunately we could not complain as there was not a staff member to be seen for over half an hour! We had to ask a girl working behind the bar for a sweet menu only because this was included in the price of our evening meal otherwise we would have walked away earlier! Even after asking for this and being told two seconds my husband then had to go back to the bar as we were still waiting over 15 minuses later! The breakfast had a good selection of breakfast items however the hot food selection was overdone and not nice at all and this was very early in the morning. I do not normally complain about hotel stays but as we were extremely disappointed with our stay at your Newcastle Airport Hotel I feel I need to complain on this occasion and based on our own experience would not be recommending a future visit to this hotel.

We where given used dirty cups in our room and the shampoo and shower gels had also been used. Also none of the kids play areas where working no x box or games machine. Overall very poor and would not recommend

Stay was seamless and airport taxi transfer and check in was efficient. Room was large, comfortable and spacious. Bed was comfortable and facilities were good. I did not have breakfast as I felt it was rather expensive. Room was peaceful despite being near the lift. Would definitely stay again but might ask for a room further from lift. Great price and comfy beds.
