Hotel reception staff member on arrival never uttered a single word when we arrived or during the check-in, all he said at the end was if you have a vehicle then it is £6 per night, he gave the impression he hated his job and his life, made my wife and I feel very awkward and very unwelcome. Room decor a bit outdated and heater does not work great if at all. Bed duet cover was torn down one side

It was a short stay, the only complaint I have is at breakfast not all the hot food was available and we had to request fried eggs

Very good for an overnight stay near the airport. Breakfast was good as was dinner in the adjacent Toby Carvery. The decor is somewhat tired but everything (kettle, TV, shower) worked. Good value for money and the only negative was the £6 parking fee, not mentioned until checkout.

The experience i had at staying at your hotel was no way as good as last time. The reception staff were very good but we were extremely dissatisfied with the breakfast element which we initially had paid for. The hot food element especially the scrambled egg with an insect in it was vile and would fail any health and safety inspection. The reaction was poor when this point waa given out and there was no planning regarding vegetarians. Cheese was closely associated with ham on the same serving plate. I came to this hotel in 2017 and i was really impressed so much so i encouraged friends of ours to come with us on this New Years Eve trip and they felt dissapointed in a different way as well.

« We were disappointed compared to previous visits. »

When we arrived we were dismayed to see that a large group with many unruly children had taken over the bar/reception area. The reason we had booked the hotel was because we needed to eat in the bar and have our dog with us. We were unable to do this so went in the restaurant and left the dog in the car. On leaving the restaurant we were astonished to find a woman changing a baby's nappy in the middle of the reception area. On the second evening the same thing had happened and as we could not face the noise in the restaurant to enjoy our prepaid meal we opted to go to the Toby Carvery next door. Again, the dog had to be left in the car.

I wasn't planning to spend New year's Eve in Newcastle so finding a hotel was a bit tricky two days before that. I know this hotel very well, it got a bit dated but I can forgive it for the price.

Christmas Party had no atmosphere. Only 8 tables in the room of which our company was 3. Service was dreadful. e.g. After the 4th time of asking for our coffee, one waiter missed a cup and poured coffee onto the table. He never apologised or did anything to clear up the mess. The person playing the music was not a capable DJ. We had to go and ask him to play some up to date music, and at one stage he played a song at the wrong speed! Needless to say, we will not be having our Christmas Party at the Novotel again.

« Reasonable for a reason »

It’s a nice hotel that needs attention to detail. The entrance was grande, high tech but the room carpet was filthy and disgusting socks worn at all times and they needed binned after. There were marks on the toilet walls. The cleaners cupboard said it all the floor was littered and disgusting (on 1st floor). Loved being able to take my dog but need not have brought a respectful floor covering and travel bed. The Swiming pool had lots of hair and toilet roll in it, the bins were overflowing. The gentleman on the desk was very welcoming dark hair tall.

Staff are friendly and helpful they are the best part of the hotel. The hotel rooms need up grading. Rooms are scruffy. Carpets are stained and dirty. Didn't want my kids bare feet on the floor. Very dusty on base boards. Pool area is filthy scum around the pool and on the tiles. Such a shame as stay in novotel alot this is the worst one we have stayed in. Needs work asap. Shame dogs were baking in hall ways. I wouldn't want a dirty room that a dog may have stayed in. Nor do I want to hear baking early in the morning.

All the staff were brilliant especially the restaurant guys. My daughter was poorly and ended up being sick whilst at breakfast. They came straight away and started to help me. And told me not to worry. We've stayed here a few times now and will keep returning.
