« Car park charges state before booking »

The hotel and staff where great. The only problem I had Was, no car park charges where mentioned when I booked the room. I only got told that I had a car park charge when checking out.

« A very good stay with a couple of blemishes »

We enjoyed our stay; rooms were comfortable and breakfast very good. Two disappointments however - first, despite being empty, shower gel was not replaced in our rooms and second, when we ordered an evening meal on the Sunday morning the message was not passed on to the Restaurant which was closed when we went down for dinner. It was then opened for us and another party followed shortly afterwards but something had clearly gone wrong with internal comms.

« Some minor niggles, promptly really with. »

Confusion on checking in as to what was included, sorted immediately. A discrepancy between what was offered on the Accor website and what the hotel expectation was, sorted quickly. Not made aware of the parking charge until departure, while charging for an, in effect, required service this should be more transparent.

« Ideal for what we required, room could do with a revamp »

Stay was fine room was for ideal for what we needed. Apart from the lack of plugs in the room (223) as one was broken and pubic hair in the bath the stay was fine.

« Very dated hotel, expensive for what it was and breakfast was appalling »

Other than the initial reception area the actual rooms and corridors and stairs carpet, flooring and decor was very old dirty and dated. The breakfast was appalling we waited 25 minutes for any sort of eggs both fried and scrambled to come out as there was none. There was no sausages then for another 20 mins and no pastries or croissants at all. No bread when we first arrived to even get some toast whilst we waited for the cooked stuff to come out. When it did the scrambled egg was very watery and ruined the rest of the food ok the plate and my sausage was pink inside and greasy We stay in hotels a lot and for the same price a night in fact for a lot less we have experienced far superior in the past.

We were at the novotel for a wedding and decided to stay overnight. We had a great time, the food was lovely and the room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The pool could do with a re-vamp but that wouldn't stop us from staying again.

« Battered and bruised hotel. Not at the airport! »

Disappointed to have to give a poor review after so many lovely stays at other hotels within the group. This was also our most expensive stay and thankfully it was only one night.

« Standard Novotel hotel »

Nice location with plenty of on site parking. The public areas of the hotel appear to have been recently refurbished and are very pleasant. There are signs of some wear and tear in the rooms particularly the carpet and some paintwork. Large comfortable bed and a very quiet room led to a good night's sleep. We didn't eat in the hotel so cannot comment on the food. All the staff were pleasant and helpful.

Staff very friendly and polite and nothing was to much trouble, however the carpets in the corridors and bedroom was really disgusting, stained and dirty, the carpet was all rippled and old a hazard really. the room was basic but the bed sheets had marks on the and the curtains had things on them the net had holes in it and the lights layered with dust. when we went down for breakfast we had to wait over 5 mins for egg of any sort as none there and hasbrowns, then had to ask for white bread as non there, then went to get juice and all was completely empty and they only brought out apple juice in 2 small jugs the restaurant was busy and things should have been stocked, again now yogurts or fruit had to ask again. I would say your staff are a credit to you and the managed it all in the restaurant with 3 staff very well, but when we had a time to get on the road for a 6 hour journey and expected to have an easy breakfast this was not the case as we waited and asked for pretty much everything, a real shame as we have stayed in the Novohotel in the past in Southampton and it was a complete contrast to here - modern and clean - this hotel needs new carpet and curtains minimum throughout and better cleaning. not sure we would come back!!

« As described, friendly and helpful staff mostly, room and bed comfortable »

Disappointed we missed the restaurant for evening meal. Went to pool and didn't realise it shut at 9pm. Used gym and pool. Reception and bar staff friendly and helpful. One of the females member serving breakfast not not very helpful. Glad to see Maria still there. Room and bed conformable. Asked for more milk at reception and was provided with it straight away.

« Hotel needs renovation »

Generally the hotel needs some updating, bathrooms need better maintenance, and cleaning. The pool steps needed tightening My bathrobe was not clean and covered in someone else’s dark hairs, this was horrid. Th shower head squirted water in all sort of direction. The bottled water wasn’t replaced in the room for day two. The welcome gift was a usb stick, not much good for anyone anyone! There was only one person working at checkin and he was too busy to deal with all customers It just wasn’t up to the normal standard of Accor. On a positive the bar staff were excellent

At £91 for 5 days parking, taxi transfers, and an overnight stay, this is amazing. So glad we didn’t bother with the Hilton as this was half the price and twice as convenient.
