Overall a good stay, the views from the hotel are amazing. The only slight disappointment was the size of the pool, which really didn't allow for more than 3 or 4 people to swim lengths at the same time - and less if there are people playing about. The access to the workout pool also needs to be controlled better - on the last day we were there we were unable to use it, as it was full and nobody came out of it during the entire half hour or so that we were in the main pool

« the perfect place to relax surrounded by natural beauty with the benefit of excellent facilities and staff »

I spent 3 nights with my 2 sons, aged 11 and 14 years old. It was an good opportunity for me to relax after a stressful few months of work and to spend some quality time with my children. We enjoyed the pool, the restaurant, the beach and the closeness of the town. I also had 2 wonderful massages and use the hammam and the gym. It was a very relaxing, restorative break before returning to our normal busy life in Paris. We will back in May with my mother when we she visits from Australia.

Spa was Devine, hotel also and restaurant and food very good. The setting of the hotel is beautiful and the walking trials great and easy to move around to other pretty towns.

« Attentive and caring treatments - more attention and thought for the food is needed »

I came for the "Mer du Sommeil." As said in the title, the staff were attentive and caring to my needs. And I had difficulty with the food that was in our demi-pension plan which did not seem to be thought out in connection with sleep difficulties. I don't eat fish and found I was eating too much meat at night because that was what was available. Vegetables were often too few or overcooked. I believe there needs to be much more thought in the meal plan about how eating and nutrition affect sleep quality and to recognize that any issues of health can also be added by organic produce. On the other hand, I was very pleased with many of the treatments, particularly the Kansu which I will pursue more of in Paris. Joelle, was very attentive and steered me to Brigitte who did a very powerful session of Bach Flowers for me. The sophrologist, Martine, was skilled and caring. I strongly suggest that those who come to do the Sommeil cure are given MP3 sophrology downloads so we can learn to integrate what is being taught. It's essential that for the investment we're making we are given recordings that we can work with after the 6 days. For both of us in this program sleep had been a chronic issue; we agreed we needed at least 3 more weeks of listening to the sophrology exercises to integrate them. There needs to be acknowledgement that ongoing work with these processes are needed. 6 days is too short to integrate them in our lives without the ongoing aid of recordings we can listen to. In terms of the treatments offered Josseline was extraordinary in her touch and her sensitivity and with her I felt what's possible in the experience of deep relaxation.

The staff can’t handle the normal functions of a hotel. Fire alarms ring, the rooms are sterile like an Ibis, the bar is quickly overwhelmed and the restaurant doesn’t know how to serve. It’s as if they found unemployed people off the street and asked them to help them run a hotel. The gym was out of service so if you didn’t have a spa treatment there was only so many hours in a he pool you could spend. Speaking of which the hot tub/Aqua therapy was underwhelming. It’s a shame because the views are stellar and the restaurant design is very attractive and modern. Clearly not enough staff and experienced staff to merit the high prices

« Disappointing as not what expecting for a superior room, staff disinterested and food in restaurant second rate. »

Very disappointing. WE have stayed before and superior room this time was not what we expected - no proper kitchenette as had on previous stays. Cutlery, crockery, glassware dirty - had to wash everything before we could use. Cleaning staff should check before new guests arrive. No bedside tables - just 2 barstools! No table as told we would have. Fittings eg bed heads didn't fit the beds - it was all a bodge. Staff unhelpful. Restaurant food second rate. If we had not paid for the room in advance we would not have stayed for 2 nights. .

« Very nice facility »

The facility is very nice and the rooms are well above average. We were not allowed to check in a minute before 4pm. nor we allowed to stay late in one of our two rooms, even though the rooms were not going to be cleaned until the next morning.! The food is good and a bit pricy. Breakfast could be better.!

« Good accommodation but what has gone wrong in the kitchen? »

We have stayed at this hotel several times and always enjoyed our stay. However this time, I was particularly disappointed in the standard of the dishes offered for dinner. The millefeuille with prawns tasted as disgusting as it looked. The goats cheese mousse was acidic enough to work as a paint stripper and one of the "prawns" looked more like a large slug of the type found in French woodland. The clafoutis served as dessert on the same menu was pure "stodge", lacking in flavour and finesse. We do not agree with the practice of allowing guests to sit down to eat in the restaurant wearing bathrobes. This apparel should be confined to the spa. The live music in the bar on 24/09 was far too loud.

« The best Novotel I have stayed in »

We regularly stay in Novotels and this was the best one we have stayed in. The location on the coast was excellent and we found Dinard to be a pleasant little town. The Hotel was very relaxing and I enjoyed having my breakfast out on the terrace in the sunshine overlooking St Malo bay. The room we had was also very nice and equipped with it's own little kitchen.

I have the Gold status with AccorHotels and so spend at least 30 nights in hotels of this chain round the world per year. First shock was - no airconditioning in the Residence of Novotel Dinard The room is dark due to a narrow window. Unnecessary huge bed-armchair took 30% on the floorspace - why to put them in every room? We had 2 tall metal and plastic barchairs in the room - one we used as a bedside table which we lack in the room. Strange furniture....Kitchenette is a fridge, microwave and a sink The main shock is NO ENGLISH MENUE in the restaurant at this international brand hotel! Waiters do not speak English...Of course it gives you the chance to go out to eat but de-values the hotel. And to go out...the hotel is 3 km from Dinard centre. On the first day I asked for the second chair for the balcony as for two of us only one chair was provided. I was clearly said "NO" and for 5 night we spent there at Dinard the hotel did not find the opportunity to give us the second plastic chair....3 teabags were provided for 2 of us - 1 green, one bio and one black: no chance for a couple both to have black tea....At the arrival I found just 1 body lotion in the bathroom - and for 5 nights we were provided 2 shampoos in addition to that body lotion... At breakfast at the entrance to the restaurant they gave us pieces of paper where it was written what coffee we were for and this piece of paper is to be placed at your table - 2 times of 5 breakfasts coffee was brought after half an hour of chasing. Once it was just cold. At 8:40 - 8:50 a roommaid knocks the door asking when she could make the room. Every time we said In an hour. And twice returning back to the room at 2PM we found the room was not made. At the departure I was asked how I liked my stay with Novotel Dinard. I said "Kind of" and the manager lifted the eyebrows and made the jesture by his hand - probably meaning to continue, to explain... I am at least 15 years him older and as the manager of the international brand hotel he is to know some jestures are not quite accepted in different cultures and it is better to avoid jestures in business environments. I explained why I feel Novotel Dinard did not provide good service. Did I get any apologies? No. I have got "Here is your reciept. Good bye".

« LOCATION PERFECT; ACCOMMODATION AND FACILITIES EXCELLENT »

I have stayed at this hotel many times, usually in the main building fronting the sea views. This time however, with my daughter, her husband and their 4 children, 9,7, 5 and 1 years we stayed in the annex self catering apartments: Had a lovely stay as always and the only niggle is the lack of English translations for the menus in the restaurant, which I mention each time I visit. The other issue was the lack of room service in the self catering apartments particularly with 4 young children (only available in the main hotel accommodation) despite the documentation in the apartment indicating otherwise. However, these are minor gripes, This is a fabulous hotel and these little niggles will not prevent me from visiting again, with or without family.

Shame the carpark is so busy, can be difficult to park, swimming pool is good and the jacuzzis are good. Have swimming towels in the pool. Too.was good, had small balcony with 2 chairs but we didn't use it because it was raining
