We had a nice stay, the room was very good and we ate diner in the restaurant which was very good. Unfortunately, the breakfast was very poor. The breakfast was insufficiently refilled, the bread and eggs were hardly refilled and was immediately finished. From bread there was only 2 pieces of sugar loaf.

The hotel was as comfortable and quiet as possible, the employees were very nice and breakfast was perfect. However, I was travelling with english speaking friends and we were very disappointed on the service at the restaurant. The non-english speaking waitress made no effort whatsoever to try to understand the people around the table and she showed rude manners. Without a few french persons with us, ordering diner and having the food we ordered, would have been nearly impossible. It's a pity for such a hotel, located at a national border, and close to the airport.

My Easyjet flight from Lille to Geneva had been cancelled. I gave my Name/Family Name at the airport as everyone else to get a room for the night (in the Mercure of Lesquin). When I arrived at the Hotel, they did not have my name, just a number of rooms to provide for Easyjet passengers. All the rooms had already been attributed. I had to pay my room ! It should be managed in back-office between the airline company and the hotel because this happens quite often and the weight of the bad organization should not be put on the passengers. Now I cannot get a refund from the airline company. Sense of service should be this way.

Disappointing room but good food

We had a 3rd floor room in an attic. The window does not open so no fresh air at all. Room was hot despite air conditioning so had to leave the door open to get air in the room. The shower smells of sewers/ drains in the morning so quite an awful room. Dinner in the restaurant was outstanding and all staff are friendly and helpful

Every time when I come to this hotel I do the Online Check-in. I am still trying to experience the added value of doing this. This time I had to use my AMEX card for a payment guarantee, while I have done this also with the Online Check-in. This was not required for my previous visits. The hotel room is spacious, which is very nice, but it misses a nice look-and-feel. The lights are inconvenient and there is one light in the corner which is far too bright. I think some improvements can be made here. The room itself looks a bit 'boring' and somehow misses some decoration on the wall. The shower is powerful, which is excellent in the morning. For the second time in a row, my card key stopped working within one day, which is very annoying, and needed to be reprogrammed at the reception. I don't keep it in my phone case but just near my phone but seems to be very sensitive. At the bar, the bartender Gael is a great person en true bartender. Very friendly and welcoming. I didn't have dinner in the restaurant. Somehow it misses something and it is an open space where you feel you are being watched from the bar (if you understand what I mean). I think some improvements can be made here to keep the people inside, especially with the competing restaurants in the neighborhood. The breakfast in the morning is good with a friendly welcoming from a young lady. Anyway, hopefully some constructive feedback.

We stay at this hotel every month primarily due to its location, general facilities and excellent staff. The hotel was refurbished recently after many years without updating but the makeover was unfortunately superficial, mainly paintwork and a new design to the reception area and restaurants , which to us, does not seem a great success.

You can clearly see the visual improvements made in the hotel. Nice! The hotel room looks nice and I have a few constructive comments; One comment would be that I feel the lights can be improved. It misses a little class and quality. The is one big light in the corner. When it's on it is too much and when it's off it is too little light. Hope this makes sense.. Other comment would be the bathroom, which could also be a bit more classy (the walls and maybe in combination with the lights). The last comment I want to mention is about the heater in the hotel room. Some people might like it to be warm in the room, not me, I like my room to be fresh and would even prefer an open window when I enter the room.

Was pleased to find large room with two comfy beds and spacious bathroom. Was dissapointed to find that staff on check in not overly welcoming and then again when i went to enquire if they were serving food, staff member tried to make out he didnt understand the word "food". For an international hotel i would expect all staff to know a simple level of english and for an airport hotel even more so! He was quite rude and told us that no food until 7pm so yet another dissapointment after a long day travelling. Breakfast was good but again was left dissapointed by fact no porridge available and no offer to try and help us. Had to return to room to get our own porridge pot so that my husband had something he could eat!
