Lobby, crowded, no sitting area, no water available. Rooms, shower in the slippery too high tub with no safety bars. Towels are worn, small and rough. Everything is below standard. Room itself is like in the 60's. No comfortable sitting area. Poor decor. Terrible! No amenities, not even slippers.

Unfortunately during busy cruises time our lobby could be crowded, we do have more spaces in the bar area where waiting guests can also use for the time before check in. Our standard rooms do not have a slippers but we do provide it in the reception by request free of charge. We do have a non slippery mat they are provided also by request at reception. The room was a great size, but the shower leaked and so the carpet was always wet. The room smelt of smoke the whole time we were there. The two evenings were very very busy so glad we didn't have to use the restaurant or bar.

Satisfactory but not a 4 star rated hotel. Pool extremely small whilst kids also ran on electrical equipment like treadmills when wet. That could be a dangerous situation. Hated the fact that you had to pay £10 to park even though we were guests and had already paid a lot of money to stay. Breakfast very mediocre. Staff lovely.

I was disappointed to find that the swimming pool (the reason I booked this hotel) has a maximum amount of guests that could use the facility at one time, only twelve. I cannot find any mention of this on your website. Not a good start to the stay.

There is no air-conditioning in the room but rather an “air-cooling” system but it didnt work at all. I could only rely on the table fan or opening the window to lower the rook temperature. This was indeed disappointing for being a Novotel hotel. The staff were nice and helpful.

Despite having checked in online, the reception didn't have a key ready. The staff on reception felt low energy when I was checking in. And when I sent some clothes for laundry, it didn't come back to my room, and I had to specifically ask for it back at check out.

We have stayed many times at this hotel but did not enjoy the food this time. The breakfast is overpriced and the evening menu very repetitive and the portions too large. We had no car so did not use the car park but had family visit us who did drive and we were disgusted when told very rudely by 2 female receptionists that we would have to pay for 2 hours parking!

We staued 2 nights. After room service from the 1st day a lot of the rubbish was not taken away. We were also very angry that we found a pill under the bed that one of my small children could have picked up. We did complain at the desk but nothing was done regards compensation.

Really pleased we chose Novotel Southampton - the family room was excellent value, clean and very comfortable. Pool was lovely and nice to get free towels to use for swimming. Our children loved the bags of goodies they received when we arrived. Would definitely chose again.
