Unfortunately the disabled room was not big enough for a wheelchair user The distance between the bed at the bottom and the cupboards was too narrow and I needed wet room facilities rather than a shower tray.

the hotel is in a good location for the reason for the stay, easy to check in and out - asked if stayed before and had so not needed to go through breakfast, leisure facilities etc.

« Fantastic »

Me and my Mum stayed here for her birthday present as we went o the Theatre nearby. We both thought the room was really clean, relaxing, had everything you needed in it. Breakfast was lovely and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed our time here and would definitely book here again :)

« Excessively hard bed made for poor night's sleep »

The service was friendly and generally good although hot drinks at breakfast caused problems for the staff and we had to request cups and milk. The room was generally fine but the rock hard bed meant poor sleep with my wife decamping to the sofa wrapped in a gown and towels.

« Very impressed! »

My partner and I were very happy with our 2-night stay at Novotel in Southampton. All the reception and restaurant/bar staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. One evening we had a 3-course dinner meal at the hotel's restaurant - the food was delicious and we had some very nice cocktails. We enjoyed using the hotel's pool and sauna facilities. The pool is fairly small but good enough for a swim, especially in the evenings when it wasn't busy. We liked the room and slept very well on the bed. The hotel is well situated just 5 minutes walk from Southampton Central train station, and 10 minutes walk from WestQuay shopping centre. Overall we were very impressed and would stay again.

« Satisifies but not great for a 4* »

All staff where welcoming and accommodating. Room was very small and not enough towels or toilet roll (but was very easy to get more). Room card didnt work first time. It haad tto ve changed 3 times and in the end needed to be used 5x plus before ot actually opened the door. No clear instructions on how to work eletrics. Facilities where goodbut not big enough for the size of the hotel.

The stay was as expected. I have stayed at the Novotel for the last 7-8 years and it has been consistent. The only setback was, I requested for an early check-in but this was not available. This has been the case for each and every visit. I stay at the Novotel Southampton at least 3 times a year. Never once did I got an early check-in.

I've stayed here at lot over the last two years on business. This trip was for pleasure attending a function in the hotel. The only thing to improve on would be free parking for loyalty program holders.

« Tardy and not up to Novotel standards »

We were disappointed from start to end with the poor, cheap, decor, old fashioned room design and layout, narrow corridors, cell like rooms, cold showers and changing rooms in the spa, and mediocre breakfast. I had better overall customer experience at the Premier Inn at Sutton Harbour during the week for work at a fraction of the price. This was not s 4 star experience and should not be advertised as such.

Staff were very helpful. Rooms were big but a bit tired. Thought the separate toilet was very odd. Appeared to be building work going on which wasn't explained but it is possible this wasn't actually works in the hotel although it certainly sounded like they were.
