« Hotel needs a fresh update, little wear and tear »

This Hotel is still very good but starts to get worn out from the interior & decoration side. Staff fantastic, beds are the best in the world. Bar and restaurant need firm upgrade or paint job. Roller-stair was out of order.

It was only one night, so i just enjoyed that wonderful bed! It was the best sleep I've had in a while-it felt like sleeping on a fluffy cotton cloud. So good

I've just spent a night in a junior suite at the Sofitel. The hotel is well located near avenue Louise. Accomodations are very comfortable and the staff is quite efficient and friendly. The bar bar is the place to be at cocktails time.

We always like the service at Sofitels. The décor in Brussels is not as much my personal taste as, for example, the Washington and New York Sofitels, but the experience was still very positive.

The hotel was very clean and comfortable and in a good location. However we ate in the main restaurant one evening and was very disappointed. Example: Scallops 19 euros starter, 39euros main. The only difference was one scallop more with the main. All dishes had the same small boring veg,( starters and mains.) Really not worth eating.

« As usual good experience but.. »

Was not the first time I came to this hotel. Reception was excellent as the rest of my stay except for the breakfast service. More than twenty minutes to get some coffee after asking three times ? The server excused himself in a very polite way, so I guess it is more a question of not having enough staff. This was the first time this happened to me in this hotel. I hope that when I get back at the end of september the problem will not reappear.

Overall - the stay was okay. But as a 5* hotel there has been a few mistakes that are not supposed to happen, even in a less luxurious hotel. First, I have been contacting the hotel both via booking and phone, asking for a wine bottle to wait in the room. After calling me back and confirming the type of wine and the time - the wine wasn't there when we arrived (And we arrived 2 hours after the time I gave them..). Then we decided we'll get some wine at your open air bar - it was beautiful, we were suggested a wine that was the exact opposite of what the waiter has described - but after mentioning, it has been replaced, good job with that. But the worst part in my opinion, was what happened in the breakfast the day after, my partner asked for soft-boiled eggs and we were in a rush to leave for work, it was promised it will take 5 minutes, it took 10, but that's not even the thing - we've been served almost raw eggs. It is dangerous, unprofessional and really really bad looking. If it was cooked, it has been 1 minute max, which as far as I know in some countries against the law. Of course it has been replaced with proper soft-boiled afterwards, but then we were really limited by time to enjoy it. You do have a great place there but it has been too many problems for the few hours of stay we had. Hope it will help you improve the service. Thanks!

« A great location with charming staff (who kept feeding us cake!) »

This was the best hotel booking I have ever made! It was my husband’s birthday and our wedding anniversary, and I had one of those random thought processes that ended with “Why not Brussels?” The hotel is in a superb location in Sablon; close to the heart of the city and 10 minute’s taxi ride from Midi Station where we could catch the Eurostar back home. It is situated on Avenue De La Toison D'or, which is the only road I have seen with a Hermès opposite a Marks & Spencer and a Wok Express opposite Cartier! You will notice that the hotel décor is very theatrical and playful with tributes to Magritte’s surrealism in places. It has a nice atmosphere and “feel” about it. There is no doubt in my mind that the lifts (elevators) are padded to help those of us who eat too much food to comfortably lean on something while we are transported. We noticed that within 3 minutes’ walk (in any direction) from wherever you are in Brussels, it does seem that there is a yet another cake or chocolate shop to help us on our journey. Within 15 minutes’ of leaving the hotel, we were in the centre of Gross Markt looking at the stunning guild houses, taking photos of all the huge cartoon murals on the walls, trawling through second hand record shops (in between eating cakes), laughing at the Manneken Pis (the statue of the weeing boy) and going crazy in the Tintin Shop and Pierre Marcolini (chocolatier). But this review is not about Brussels –yes, it is an unassumingly exciting city – this review is actually to highlight why this hotel is memorable – for the right reasons… stay here because of the vibe and the hospitality. I appreciate that it was our special weekend but I thank them for the surprise of a room upgrade. We have never been upgraded for anything in our lives so this was a wonderful experience for us. When we reached our room and finally realised that the door was not faulty and that we had been swiping the door with a train card and not the hotel room card, we finally entered a very funky room with chic décor and more storage space for clothes than we have at home! About 5 minutes later, there was a knock at the door – a chef stood there with a long plate stacked high with chocolates, cakes and macaroons which he gave to us with a hand-signed card from the team. This was a very heart-warming gesture; it was so unexpected and so thoughtful. Then, later that evening, we overdosed on the free cakes that arrived for us, courtesy of the warm and funny Maitre Dit (I wish I could remember his name) who spent time talking with us in-between attending to the other guests. A really lovely guy! We thank the team at Sofitel Le Louise for looking after us. They were warm, extremely professional, engaging and charming and we thank especially Leonard, Agnès, Nicholas and Karim who were wonderful to talk to and made us feel very special.

« (Almost) everything good, but... »

In general, we would have been, like always (after having spent many nights in Sofitel Hotels all around the world), very satisfied with the hotel, if that one incident wouldn't have happened. In the evening we went dining in the Crystal Lounge restaurant at 7.15 pm , and i left my wallet on the desk in our room (in the restaurant we paid by credit card). In the wallet were at that moment 1x 50€ and 1x 100€ (i checked just before leaving for the restaurant while taking my credit card). After dinner, i didn't check my wallet anymore but it was still on the desk. In the morning, during checkout, i paid breakfast and the rest of the invoice with my credit card. After checking out, whilst putting my credit card back in my pocket, i realised that the 100€ bill had disappeared. Since the wallet didn't leave our room, the logical conclusion is that a person must have entered our room while we were gone (during dinner or breakfast) and took the 100€ bill. I immediately contacted a person from the service, and the lady in charge checked which people had entered our room since the evening before (1x Turndown Service in the evening at 8.20 pm , 1x Technician who checked the minibar at 10.05 in the morning). The lady guaranteed that those people would never take money from anyone. So i had to accept the fact that my 100€ bill, who had still been in my wallet at 7.00 pm, must have vanished... I realise that i should have put my wallet in the safe-box, but to be honest, i would never have thought that anything like this would be possible in a Sofitel Hotel. It never happened before, but i guess that even in 5* Hotels, nobody can be trusted... This leaves a very bad aftertaste to our trip and i am deeply disappointed.

Firstly, thank you for upgrading me as an Le Club AccorHotels member. Unfortunately, my experience thereafter was not satisfactory. There was intrusive noise from the nearby elevators. After departing at 10 AM, I returned to my room at 6:00 PM Monday night to find that it had not been serviced. I had to ring downstairs to get housekeeping to service my room when we went out to dinner thereafter. Although I was entitled to free minibar with the upgrade, when I rang room service to get some fresh milk for coffee when our minibar supply had expired, I was charged approximately 7 euros for a glass of milk, an excessive charge for replacement milk and not applicable in my case anyway. The Wi-Fi to my room became non-functioning on Tuesday morning, but was swiftly corrected by a staff member. Lastly, the Bose audio system in the room (603) had a broken 30 pin iPhone dock, superseded in 2012 by the iPhone5 lightning dock. I doubt that anyone is still using iPhone 4 these days! I carry an adapter for such situations, but it was rendered useless by your broken dock. (You are not the only Accor Hotel with antiquated iPhone docks and this is not the first time I have recommended updating them!)
