« Disappointment that Mercure standards were not reached. »

We were disappointed with the Hotel . We had problems with the flushing of the toilet in the room which was not fully resolved. We also had difficulty with the availability of the Express breakfast. We had chosen the Mercure on the basis that a continental breakfast option was available but it proved quiet difficult to get the staff to provide this breakfast option.

The floor in the room felt very dirty. there were yellow stains on the sheet (i choose to think it was clean, just looked unclean). Staff very helpful, nice pool and breakfast.

Everything was fine apart from the drink (above) which meant we declined to use either the restaurant or bar and the proximity to a main road which meant we had to keep our window shut so the room became too hot

We have stayed with you before as its convenient for the airport. The servuce is very good , this time we were a little disapointed in the breakfast , there were no fresh scrambled eggs and limited choice of hot food this time.

A comfortable stay at a well placed hotel near the city centre. We upgraded to a Privilege Room which was very well fitted and stylish. We used the outdoor pool before dinner and after breakfast. We enjoyed our dinner in the hotel restaurant - and lingered over the extensive breakfast buffet the next morning. a

I booked a room in a so called 4 star hotel and realized that air conditioning wasn't working at all. As a consequence, I didn't sleep at all the first night and my wife didn't get much sleep neither. The situation was even worse on the second night and we nearly broke up due to the unbearable heat in the room. As a consequence, I went to the lobby at 4:30 AM and was ready to sleep on the couch in order to get at least a couple of hours of sleep. The receptionist then told me that there was a room which got free due to a no show and I called my wife and offered her to sleep in this room where there was proper air-conditioning. I returned to my room in order to get some sleep but was woken up at 5:30 AM by garbage men on a sunday morning !!! As a consequence, I wasn't able to sleep at all and slept one hour in two nights. I would have expected a proper air conditioning for a 160 euro room, I could have booked a camping for 30 euro and would have enjoyed a better night for sure !!! Staff offered a 5% compensation but I refused it because they told me hotel manager would call my wife the day after and he hasn't called her so far of course. You will understand that I won't come to any mercure hotel anytime soon as the staying completely ruined my week-end. Furthermore, I find it totally unprofessional to tell my wife who is very busy with her work that the manager will call her on Monday without having him do it at all. A fair compensation would be to reimburse at least the first night as we didn't sleep at all but I don't expect much from someone who doesn't even take the time to call very dissatisfied customers.
