Bedroom 216 plug by bed not working and cover plate broken Poor room decoration with horrible textured paint on ceilings and walls We were charged 3 euros for a bottle from the bedroom fridge we did not take. Was refunded immediately No option to book breakfast after you have booked your room online should you decide that you will have breakfast after you check allergen information Rip off of 10 euros each for adults at reception and that’s a special deal. Usually 12 euros .Breakfast same items most mornings and water down cheap juices Not the best location without a car Expect traffic around the hotel in the mornings Disappointed

Booked this place in advance for the family however decided not to go and book breakfast as had some allergen issues at the time Shame the website doesn’t allow you to book breakfast after you booked Spoke to the hotel regarding ingredients and was surprised the price was nearly double what the website was charging for breakfast purchased at reception So for ten euros each you just get the same breakfast every morning. The cakes and fruit seemed to be one order and each morning the same stuff. Three days on the trot scrabbled eggs,bacon and same sausages We had booked six breakfasts however only stayed for three and the remainder were refunded without question The juices are nothing special just a cheap brand put into a jug. Some seem either very bitter like the orange has worn out or watered down. Awful stuff A question whether they are a Novotel as have seen much better standards in these places The bedroom decor is very basic with textured paint used on the walls and ceilings.Its just basic and poor Not happy that they wanted to charge for a bottle from out bedroom fridge which we did not take. Was refunded without further question so worth always checking out with your final bill at reception I expect the Manager to comment but not actually read what I have said and hope I come back next time .We’ll see

« A wonderful stay »

Very well situated hotel, but you will need a car. Excellent value for money with spacious, very comfortable rooms with tea and coffee making facilities and a safe. The breakfast was superb with a wide choice of fruit, breads, cheeses as well as hot food ie sausages, bacon , mushrooms and tomatoes. This is the best breakfast I have had in an Accor hotel and it should not be missed. 10 out of 10 for everything.

Booked Novotel with a set of expectations and a level of comfort, ended up feeling cheated. Air-conditioning was not working which made our stay very very uncomfortable. We were not told about the issue upfront but were told causally when we complained about it. Moreover hotel staff was not ready to do anything about and were simply sorry which didn't help. Apart from the breakfast nothing was Novotel standard or even worth the money.

good room, helpfull staff, early breakfast at 04:00 is nice. Not so many hotels offer it. Only parking with tickets could be adapted to accept also hotel room cards. The scanner was not at the best condition and I had to scan more times for acceptation of ticket

Overall the stay waa ok, although the hotel needs to be renovated as it is a bit old and the rooms are not rated for a 4 star. I have been in Novotel in other countries, e.g. Milano and they look much more nice and modern.

I normally stay in Porto center when I visit this city. This time I chose Novotel Gaia. Located in the top of a mountain in Gaia with magnificent view of Douro River joining the sea, Nice hotel, great rooms, Yummy breakfast and gentle crew all very well located, few minutes from Gaia's caves as well as from Porto riverside. I really enjoyed it and recommend. Very good hotel for family with kids with playground and eletronic games attractions.

Friendly welcome and excellent staff. Nice clean comfortable room. My daughter enjoyed the pool. A little out of main tourist area but an easy, quick and inexpensive trip in by taxi (6 euros). Good breakfast.
