« Excellent »

We have stayed at this hotel for many years and find it very convenient for visiting Bruges and for parking. We didn't have breakfast which was expensive and only worth having if we ate a lot which we didn't want so we enjoyed coffee and croissants in a nearby cafe. We found the room clean and pleasant after we asked to be moved up from a fusty and dark room on the lower floor to floor 1. We used the bar every evening and enjoyed it very much - good atmosphere, service and beer. One small complaint - smokers standing just outside the entrance to the hotel so we had to walk through unpleasant smoke and a litter of cigarette ends when coming and leaving.

It was mostly very good but the room was cold and we couldn't control the heater. The fist room we were in the heater wasn't working at all and we were moved to a second room where the heater worked but stopped heating when the room was still cold. We were told that the thermostat was set to 26 degrees. A thermometer showed that the room was about 20 degrees when the heater stopped heating. The member of staff seemed to imply it was our fault we were cold in Brugges in November. I noticed the heating was always working fine in the reception area where the staff member spent most of their time. The staff member even stuck the a thermometer almost in the heating unit to show us the room was over 26 degrees. The warmest her thermometer could show even when doing this was only about 20.8 degrees. It never went over 21 degrees. When you are paying over £100 a night I think the least you can ask for is that you are warm. We were not warm in either room in fact we were very cold and uncomfortable.

« Good Parking, Excellent Food, Close to Town »

This is our second stay here and we travelled specifically to stay here as part of our longer holiday. The hotel is clean, the food and service are excellent and the staff welcoming. There is a really safe and happy feel to the bar/restaurant area and I would even feel comfortable as a woman travelling alone here. Parking right below the hotel and the main areas of attraction in town are within walking distance. We checked in early evening and were in smaller room (than last year) on the top floor which had a very squeaky air conditioner/heater that we had to turn off as it was too noisy for us to sleep (reported to reception who already knew of the problem but who could not move us because the hotel was full). The squeaky heater and slightly small room were minor negatives to a one night stay - we will still stay here again.

« A lovely stay »

A very enjoyable stay, an extremely comfortable bed and a great breakfast were highlights. The hotel is in a very good location, a short walk from the railway station and the Markt, I can thoroughly recommend this hotel.

« Very good, great location, but upstairs needs TLC »

This hotel is centrally placed, with close, well priced parking. The staff are friendly and helpful. Drinks prices were high - 38€ for 2 large gin and tonics. The downstairs is very smart and the breakfast was excellent. However, the upstairs needs refurbishing, especially the hallways. The rooms are ok, but the pillows were very poor and we had to return one of them to reception to be replaced. The towels were very thin and the bath towels were small. There were no hand towels provided. The bathroom was clean and everything worked but there was a smell of sewerage in the bathroom and upstairs corridors. This hotel isn't quite up to the standard of other Ibis hotels we have stayed in.

« Ibis Brugge »

On arrival we were greeted by Tomaz on reception, he could not have been more helpful or friendly and is a credit to your organisation. The room we had was nice, clean and tidy as was the rest of the hotel, the hotel breakfast was very good value for money. This is an excellent place to stay and only a 5 min walk to Brugge centrum, there is also underground parking next to the hotel and reasonably priced at 8.70 Euros for 24hrs. The only issue we had was when we went to get served at the bar one evening, after waiting for 5 mins the young lady who decided to serve to 2 customers that arrived after me which in a busy bar I understand but there were only 3 of us there, she then told me her colleague would be there to serve me in a shortly? So time to order another drink and again another 10 min wait while she was busy on her phone, however she did serve me in the end when she realised that the other 3 members of staff were not around. Of all the Ibis hotels I've stayed in the bar staff here are by far the rudest and most miserable looking I have come across.

« Great location but dated rooms and breakfast charge con »

Not happy to pay on arrival and stated that we did not require breakfast. Upon receiving check out bill, breakfast was charged. When I queried this at reception was told it was 'policy' to charge and then up to guests to state that they did not have it. Not sure if this is even legal but I certainly won't return to an establishment that tries to 'trick' a customer into paying for something they have not had. I will not return.

« It was ok, no positive or negative surprises »

Clean room, everything as described on the site. Beds were comfortable. Air Conditioning was noisy and bathroom was poorly designed and not comfortable, especially if you are tall (wall was too close to the stool which left really little leg space - but that was the specific room I guess). On the positive, you cannot get a better location in the city and the price was fair. Would visit again.

« Excellent location near the centre of the city. »

Rooms clean and comfortable, albeit small. Bathroom could do with a little updating. Good value for money. Slightly odd musty/damp permeating the common areas, but I noticed this in other locations in the city, so probably not a problem of the hotel's making. Staff very friendly and small, but decent bar. Public car park very conveniently located immediately adjacent to hotel.

« Bruges is Stunning, hotel in great location. »

Overall very good, comfortable & the location is a great base to explore Bruges. However the room was dated & in need of an update. The room was generally clean, but there were stains behind the curtains & elements of the breakfast were disappointing. The sausages were not pleasant as too was the rubbery scrambled egg. The plates could of been warmed for the hot breakfast as the food went cold quickly. The toaster took an age to toast bread which increased the likelihood that the food would go cold while waiting. The layout of the buffet was cramp & the one way flow of traffic meant if you forgot something like your cutlery you were waiting too long or people were getting in the way who had the same problem. Overall the selection was good & elements were lovely. The staff were very friendly & informative when required.

« Great location but dated rooms »

The hotel is in a very convenient location to visit all Brugge has to offer and there is a pay (very reasonable) car park next door. Disappointed with room, very dated with virtually no hanging space. We were asked at check if we wanted breakfast and we declined. When we got our check out bill, breakfasts were included! When I queried this at reception they said it was POLICY to include breakfast and it was for the client to advise if they had it or not! I am not sure if this is legal but definitely is 'sharp practice' and would make me not want to deal with them again.

« Good most of the time »

We had a nice room. The time at the hotel was spoilt on the Wednesday night when a large party of people arrived late at night. The noise started at about 23.30 and was continuing until 01.45 when we had to go to reception to complain. At 0205 we had someone banging on our door. It seemed he didn't know what room he was in. All this rather spoilt our stay.

« Good Location and Value »

We went for a long weekend in Brugge including a day long tour of WW1 sites. Our requirement was a centrally located hotel with somewhere to park the car while we were there. We were not looking for luxury as we intended to spend our time on our pre-booked tour and exploring Brugge by day and by night. The Hotel is in the "old" city and a short walk to restaurants and bars and to points of interest and the underground carpark beneath it, while not cheap was a reasonable price compared to many UK cities for parking by the day. The staff were friendly and helpful and the on-line check-in system worked well for us. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. It was quite small but we weren’t in it much and it had everything we needed for a short stay. All in all a very enjoyable weekend helped to a great extent by the convenience of this hotel.
