« Very friendly staff,room was very clean but too small for us. »

Anything we asked for we got which was great. We were staying for 5 nights but we didn't have enough space for our things unfortunately. Felt a little cramped at times. Bed was very comfortable and bathroom was small but had a great shower. Place was always spotless. Next time we stay we'll ask for a bigger room if possible and make sure we have breakfast there. It looked lovely. Hotel has a fantastic location though. Huge plus. Thanks for everything.

« Warm room , comfy bed helpful staff and right in the centre of things »

I only drink coffee once a day at breakfast. It would have been good to have the facility of hot water as I like to drink Earl Grey tea especially before bed . It would have been lovely to have a kettle and cups . I brought my own teabags but could not use them.

Card stopped working at every entrance and exit and needed to be fixed by the reception every time we wanted to access our room. Also, we were once provided with a dirty towel and guests once left food in the hallway creating bad smell since it was left until the next morning to be removed

« Bad start, great stay »

The booking was made last August for two friends and myself for twin rooms. The hotel got this wrong and allocated us 2 doubles with no twin rooms left. Manon at reception dealt with thus very quickly and efficiently and we weee given an extra double at no extra charge. The rest of the stay was then excellent.

« Good location, pretty good breakfast, small rooms, okay luggage storage. »

Overall, good. Breakfast was delicious, although the 'hot' milk was cool. But when I asked if there would be more eggs, I was personally offered to have eggs prepared for me which was delightful! Thank you! The room was small, but the bed was good. Great location! Toilet placement in bathroom was not good though, as it was too squishy and close to the wall. No safe in the room was not good. Free luggage storage should be offered to guests, rather than having to pay. Our bags were too big in the end and were taken for free, but I had to carry a heavy backpack all day :( However overall, a good experience.

Besides what I have written above there was too little choice of healthy food (one could only choose to buy an apple for example, whereas in the cantine there were no vegetables or more healthy dishes)

« Location excellent, Average rooms. »

Room wasn't available, so left luggage, and went to explore a new city. Got a text as we were nearby so went back to check in. Room was adequate, though bathroom far too small, and poorly designed. Toilet was only about 8" away from a wall, only 1 door on the shower could be opened. Also, a fire alarm at 2:15am made our short stay in Brussels worse, as it took a good few hours to get back to sleep... a free breakfast was offered, but really shouldn't have happened. Our room wasn't ever made up which was surprising.

Exelent location. Staff was kind. First night was noisy because of neghbors, but others nights - ok. Breakfest was really good! It is too espensive to leave bagage after check out.

« No Sleep at all due to renovation »

Our stay at the Ibis Grand Place was terrible. We were accommodated in a room that was dirty overall with spiderwebs hanging from the ceiling and the AC unit. The heating was terrible as well as the AC was shutting off once you set it past 15 C. Upon check in we were asked to pay the city taxes in cash (and the charge of the company card wasn't possible) even the rooms were prepaid by our company. At the second day of our stay- and with no knowledge before we arrive- there were disturbing drills and knocks throughout the day from 08:30 in the morning until 18:30 in the evening due to renovation on the above floors. When we complained at the reception they told us that the works will take place everyday and for the next 3 months from 09:00 until 17:00 -which was not the case-. We received a refund but the damage was already done, as we were not able to sleep at these hours. Upon our departure we asked a late checkout (2 hours after 12) in order for us to return from the training and collect our luggage. We were told that we will be charged for 10 euros per hour for that, despite the fact that when we checked in, it was at 19:00 in the evening, When we refused to pay that amount and we asked for our luggage to be stored at the reception until we return, we were asked to pay 10 cents per hour per luggage (!). Horrible accommodation but it is worth to mention that the staff was very polite and friendly.

Of course that is in the case that you are coming back in Brussels, you can book for more than one night but in anyways I will offer you one night in this kind of room as compensation ! The reception stuff gave me a room 511, explaining that room is quiet??!! Room 511 is next to ventilation or heating roof exhaust. I had to move to another room at midnight. I loved your hotel and I want to stay in it again. Pls double check your stuff.

We loved this hotel for so many reasons, the primary one being its location. It is in between the central rail station in Brussels and the main square, making it a prime place to stay. Also, the room was simple but well appointed and perfectly comfortable. Our breakfasts were delicious and plentiful and a great way to start a day of touring around town.

« Very bad, awful »

1) I did not like the fact that the heating was with air conditioning and that it had a nasty smell when turned on. Therefore I had to ask for a heater which was brought to me but again that was dirty and smelly. Therefore, as my trip was in January, it was very cold in the room - normally if no heating. 2) I did not like the fact that at breakfast the cutlery, glasses and plates were dirty, with stains on the glasses and cutlery that was sticky 3) I did not like the fact that some food at breakfast was not very fresh, for example the ham had a dubious color. After the first breakfast I had a bad stomach consequently the next morning morning I ate only bread, butter and gem. 4) The towels were not good (very used and thin) but this was the least inconvenience. The only positive thing about the hotel was the location but this did not compensate for the rest. I stayed several times in Ibis hotels in different cities and I was satisfied before; this is why I have chosen this hotel. But I shall never take an Ibis hotel again after this experience.
