« Worn out hotel not quite keeping up with other IBIS hotels. »

The hotel lobby is nice and also the staff is attentive on arrival and departure. Location is easy accessible by car and it is just a short drive into Colmar. Rates are usually reasonable. In general the hotel is quite ready to undergo a renovation and rooms / bathrooms could be cleaner. Compared to some modern IBIS branded hotels it is not up to the group standard.

« Good basic hotel »

We stayed two night here. The room is clean and basic. A little old times for example they use key not room card and the WiFi is just ok. No kettle in the room so that u can not get hot water by yourself. Parking is so convenient and there are enough Parkplatz. And nearby there are supermarkets and McDonald’s and one Chinese restaurant.

« quiet and comfortable hotel with friendly staff »

A warm welcome by the receptionist got us off to a good start. I couldn't get wi-fi to work on my laptop and returned to reception where the lady stopped what she was doing to help me, I did not get the lady's name but she deserves a special mention as does Elise, the lady who checked us out in the morning. Elise is a very pleasant lady with a helpful attitude. Both members of staff enhanced our stay by their friendliness and can do attitude.

We have stayed here a few times now as it is on our route home. It is definitely one of the better Ibis hotels and we always find the staff to be friendly and helpful. The food is okay too.I is not far from the main routes and the surrounding area is very peaceful.

Hotel room was grubby and dated. Needs refurbishing. The tables and floor in the bar are was dirty. Evening meal in the restaurant was average and very expensive for what we had. Restaurant was very utilitarian and felt more like a canteen. Breakfast was good.

The hotel was very disappointing and not the usual standards I expect from Accor. The bed had two mattresses of different sizes and was incredibly uncomfortable. The pillows - I can’t begin to guess what the filling was, they were horrendous. The bathroom was extremely small and toiletries (in particular the toilet roll) very cheap. The tiny towels were paper thin. Sorry but I would not return. Breakfast was disorganised and selection poor.

your questionnaire doesn't ask the right questions. The was great the staff were friendly and welcoming but the service in the restauraunt was really really slow for all the guests on that evening because a big group arrived on the evening we were there and the kitchen staff were overloaded and could not manage. Your questionnaire would not make this point clear. you have not seperated the hotel room quality staff qualities , breakfast service and restaurant service clearly enough review it and ask me to complete your questionnaire.

We enjoyed our stay which was for 5 nights. We ate breakfast each day. Some days, certain items were missing at breakfast but overall our experience was good. Our room was modern and cool in the heat. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. The car parking was busy but we always found a spot and it is free. We ate dinner only once and felt that the menu was a bit limited. The staff are excellent and very helpful and hard working.

We have stayed many times in the IBIS in Horburg en route to Italy. It’s previously always been convenient welcoming and clean but I am sorely disappointed with the service we received on 23 August. We arrived at 20.30 after a very long journey from Rome to find the room we had been allocated had a “do not disturb” notice on the door and it had not been cleaned. Another room was found for us and we headed to dinner. In the past this has been a lovely experience- a rustic style restaurant with good food and wine from the Alsace region. We waited 30 minutes for our order to be taken, despite asking multiple times. We had a drink and asked for bread while we waited- the table was not laid so no cutlery , condiments, serviettes, water glasses. Nothing. When the food finally came we had to ask for cutlery and serviettes. I had the impression that the two young girls serving were trying to do three jobs- bar work, restaurant and reception while the manager was in the reception on the computer with his mates for a good hour. There were tables needing to be cleared and dirty glasses everywhere in the bar. While I recognise this is not an upmarket hotel or restaurant, I still expect good service, which I did not get. We were also looking forward to a Pinot Noir from the Alsace but were not given a wine list and the information on wines was sorely lacking. I don’t blame the girls - they haven’t been trained properly and couldn’t cope. The manager did nothing all evening - resolved no issues and was disinterested in guests. It’s very disappointing and a pity that this hotel has changed so much as it had a great ambience before with a really good rustic restaurant. It needs attention. We will not be returning after 7 years of using the hotel. It’s a great pity and I hope these comments will help the company to implement improvements. It was definitely not worth the money we paid. Incidentally the wine we ended up having - with no wine list offered was €20- not cheap.
