« Good enough hotel »

efficient receptionist, but no note was taken of my request to have a top floor room, so we had to request another room. Room itself was adequate, but did not meet the standards I expect to get for 90 Eur per night. In particular, the plastic shell of the shower/bain is quite depressing. Parking nearby, but not cnnected to hotel: another missed opportunity?

« Disappointing stay. »

We were told we were staying on the 4th floor as there were refurbishments going on and the rooms we were given were in desperate need of refurbishment. We had black tape covering holes in the curtains, filthy old carpet and the bathroom was stained and although was “Clean” it certainly didn’t look like it. The breakfast wasn’t any near as good as we have had in over 20 years of staying in this hotel never once being greeted with a good morning by a very unfriendly staff member. Outside between the Ibis and Novotel there are many broken paving slabs that need urgently replacing as are uneven and trip hazards.

Warm welcome from reception. Extremely helpful staff provided information about the city and local events. The room was perfect with useful extras, fridge, coffee, hairdryer, tv. Reception readily provided plug converter which I had carelessly not packed. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.

« A Nice weekend in Brugge »

We are long term Accor business card holders, so we do receive benefits, there was no difference here, I booked a special offer 3 day break, which was brilliant, we even had breakfast, not something we normally do, as our normally chosen hotels are the IBIS marque, so we breakfast outside. This time as it was the Novotel, we had breakfast, were a little disapointed over the range of food, cold cuts were limited to cheap ham and salami. The hot food, well of the normal 5 or so items, some needed replenishment, as all that remained were crumbs. This was the same for the following two days. Our room keys were a little dysfunctional, each return to our room, opening the door took minutes, as the lock did not open until the 5-6th attempt. Staff were very good, but as we didn't get a chance to use our welcome drink, the receptionist could only supply a couple of soft drinks, not the bar drinks we asked for.

« Pleasant & welcoming but dated »

Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is well located with good facilities kept very clean. Rooms are dated especially the bathroom and toilet. We were first put in a ground floor room adjacent to the service road with the hotel rubbish skip located outside, this was noisy and disturbing from 5am but we were well accommodated in moving rooms.

Good overall experience, friendly staff at reception & in the restaurant. One point the bar staff on the Saturday evening was trying to close the bar at around 23:00 which is disappointing for a 4 star hotel with plenty of guests returning form an evening out.

« Great staff, great breakfast, great location but dodgy plumbing still. »

Overall, very good indeed but room 314 and 316 both suffered from sinks that smelt of rotten eggs at times. This was disappointing because we had complained of the same problem when we last stayed at the hotel in 2017. I spoke directly to a housekeeper on Saturday the 29th who entered the room carrying chemicals and cleaning materials. I heard her working hard for about five minutes after which our problem was solved. On the Sunday, room 316 had the same problem but housekeeping was not informed. We really like this hotel but is it possible that there is a problem with housekeeping?

The experience we had was good but a bit disappointing. The shower used to get suddently extremely hot, it could have burnt someone. The room service was not only limited (2 choices at 10:30pm) but extremely pricey (a vegetarian lasagna for 17€ and a creme brulée for 8euros). Finally, there were only two paper cups for coffee in the room with limited milk (only 2 pods). The rest of the experience was good.

« Perfect location for experiencing Brugge. »

WE were greeted by a very friendly, professional and helpful receptionist who gave us all the information we needed to set off on our visit to your beautiful city. Our room was , as you come to expect from Novotel, spotlessly clean and lovey and warm but, best of all, really quiet. The bed was really comfortable and we slept like logs after walking for hours around the city. Breakfast, at first glance quite expensive, proved to be very good value as we ate late and didn't need lunch! The hot food, however, could have done with being a bit hotter though. There was a large selection to choose from , something for everyone. The only negative comment I can make is that I don't like the flimsy paper cups you put in the rooms for the tea and coffee. They really let you down and, in my opinion, are not very safe. It might be a bit more work but I think you should provide a mug or a cup and saucer. The best bit about this hotel is the possibility of being able to park your car in the underground car park. It's not free but it's worth every penny to know that your car is safe and nearby. We were only in Brugge for a very short time so we will definitely be back and we will certainly be staying with you again.
