Hotel was clean and great location close to museums. Bathroom sink was cracked and did not drain properly. Staff was great and warm reception. Hotel is a bit aged in hallway carpets which need replacing. Don't buy the in house breakfast, eat locally better value.

Firstly I was disappointed that I was not acknowledged as an Accor Plus member at any stage. I had a package which included a complementary mini bar - but this was not restocked everyday. I was disappointed with this. Overall the standard of the hotel did not seem as good as other Mecure Hotels. Otherwise my stay was very pleasant.

Check in was smooth and staff very helpful. The entrance to reception and the lift is up steps so not easy for people with mobility problems. The rooms were a bit shabby but reception and the bar area pleasant enough. Unfortunately to buy drinks in the bar they only accepted cards. We didn't have breakfast as we thought it a bit expensive.

Firstly, you need a ramp at the door to be able to pull up our bags. I was not the only one struggling. There is no available assistance. We all know and appreciate that as a visitor, you make maximum usage of time available. On arrival I left my baggage in storage as I had booked an excursion. I was only handed a tram map when I checked in at 22:00. There was no available ice as the ice machine was not functioning. The little pedestal at my bedside had dust on it. Rooms were clean, bathroom clean which was a help

I checked in late at night with no problem, not just that, I felt the welcome I received at reception so enthusiastic and informative of local sights and activities in which I could participate. My room was fantastic, great space including the bathroom. Well presented and clean. I had a slight negative experience with one of your cleaners - it was a misunderstanding on her part, but a conversation that went on too long than needed. I had put the door sign saying my room didn’t need to be cleaned at around 7am. I’d gone about my day outside, and returned to your hotel around 2:40pm to refresh - greatest nicely by reception. As I got into my room I noticed that the door sign along with the complementary voucher to use in the bar had both been put under my door. I had just settled my things, when I saw the door handle opening, and so I opened the door. One of your cleaners was at my door, I was a little surprised to see her but she told me that she needed to clean my room, to which I replied “errr...are you sure? Ok, erm well you can if you’ve been told to, but I’ll be in this room right now while you clean my room if you’re ok with that?” She then started to tell me if I didn’t want my room to be cleaned I should’ve put up a sign...I then explained to her that I did put up a sign...then she started arguing with me saying about the voucher, and if I put it up she doesn’t get paid, and kept saying “do you understand?!” I kept saying to her “please don’t clean my room if you won’t get paid, I’m really not asking or assuming you to do so...” in the end I finally found that voucher and showed her. I found that part of my experience quite uncomfortable; I was meant to be staying with a friend for the duration of my stay, however we ended up with her just accompanying for the 2 breakfasts already paid. At the time this happened, I was in my room alone. I am assuming that this cleaner, if not more, have had experiences where they have cleaned rooms which they didn’t need to and subsequently not been paid for their work. I really was not trying to get her to clean my room; I only reluctantly agreed as she told me that she where here to and needed to clean my room. If she and her colleagues are not always being paid for her work, I can completely understand their frustration, but at the same time it wasn’t for me to receive. I do think that if they have cleaned a room, then they should be paid for their work. I used to work as a disputes & resolution manager, and so I appreciate that when you feel unheard you can slip up in this manner, and when you find what you feel is an issue you may unload ALL of thoughts and frustrations onto the nearest person. Unfortunately in this case that was me! It was a conversation that turned into a confrontation, and really should have ended within the first minute, it went on for well over 5 minutes. I do not feel able to fairly judge your employee on the basis of this interaction, it may be a one off mistake that she regretted afterwards on reflection. I think you need to employ a much stronger system, whereby your cleaners and your hotel can ensure that if a room not only doesn’t need to be cleaned, but also your cleaners will not get paid for cleaning and therefore not mistakenly do so. Perhaps additional sign off sheets that mark such rooms, and are kept with reception and also another copy with your cleaners. If this is something you already carry out, then perhaps it needs to communicated to the relevant staff again. If you stick with just the door signs, I think you need to ensure that this specific door sign is not also put under the room doors along with the vouchers. Honestly, had this not occurred, I would have rated my stay 10 stars. I also suffer from anxiety, and this was something that raised my anxiety levels and made me not leave the hotel for a couple of hours more than planned - which is a shame as I had never visited Amsterdam until this trip. Obviously your cleaner was not aware of this, however regardless of my personal issues I still feel this reflected as a bit unprofessional. Obviously I did not report it until now, and so I do not feel it is fair to deduct another star (I.e. an overall rating of 8), however at the time I felt unsure and awkward about what happened and what I should do about it. As said a earlier, my room was well presented and clean; I cannot fault your staff in this way - your cleaners obviously do a good job! I also did use the voucher and visit your bar where I had a nice time relaxing. The barman on duty was wonderful; I told him that I would like a gin & tonic, something citrusy and he accommodated my order really well. And breakfast is fantastic. Lovely service and variety. I slept well, had a good overall stay, and really enjoyed breakfast. So thank you on those main points. Check out was really easy too.

We enjoyed our stay with you, but I was surprised to find we had to pay more than our friends did for breakfast. When they checked in (before we did) they said they wanted to include breakfast. When we were checking later in the day we went over to ask them what they had decided to do. By the time we came back to the desk to order breakfasts it seems we had missed the chance to get a discount. At no time was this discount mentioned. Apart from that, our stay was very comfortable and enjoyable.

A nice little hotel that was close to the Metro station. Once out on the main street, many little restaurants, bakeries, and bars close by. A short 10 minute walk will get you to the Rikjs Museum and to Leidesplein/Leidestraat where there's lots of restaurants and bars. The hotel itself was off the beaten path just a bit. The room was comfortable and came with airconditioning. The room and bath were small but comfortable. There is only one person at check in and can take 15 minutes if there are 5 or 6 people in front of you. Breakfast is served here but is NOT included in the base price. All in all it was good but nothing special.

Lovely stay, the rooms are so comfy and nice staff not only front office , also people from breakfast helped us with everything we needed . Maybe the room size was a bit small but they were so comfy and cozy that it didn’t matter the size anymore. I will come back for sure !!

They hotel is in a nice and quiet neighbourhood 1 street back from the canal, making it nice and quiet away from the crowds. The room was great and had everything I needed for the stay, Was even able to rent an adaptor from the hotel reception. The breakfast buffet was great too!

We visited the hotel as a family group of 4 people. Had 2 rooms on the same floor. Both rooms were very nice, same decor and shower room but different view from the window. Air conditioning was a bonus. The staff were friendly and willing to assist and the hotel was well equipped. We liked the overall look and feel of the hotel. It was in an excellent location and staff were knowledgeable about the area. It was our first trip to the Netherlands and we felt very welcome. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast which had some items of “gluten free” food for my daughter. We also enjoyed the bar in the evening, the bar man was friendly and welcoming. I would recommend this hotel and would like to return.
