Cigarette smoke on 3rd floor. Sewage smell when taps turn on. Toilet in one room and have to wash hands in another room is unhealthy and doesn't work. Couldn't access double bed from one side. TV way off centre in the room. Sockets not positioned for modern use. The dinner food was very poor, the dining room grossly understaffed. The staff to be fair were very good, friendly and helpful.

The Hotel is located close to the centre,which was a plus,from checking in my experience was just average,The staff were not very friendly,The room was an executive room,Which was ok.The cups in the room were paper cups,which i asked the reception to supply me with normal cups,after waiting until the following day these were replaced,The following morning they put paper ones back in.The free mini bar was a nice touch,I had a beer and a bag of snacks on the first night,These were never replaced,just the bottled water was replaced,We had a meal in the restaurant on the last night,The food and service was terrible,Overall the standards throughout were not very good,compared with previous Novotels i have stayed in.

We have stayed many times at Novotel Bordeaux and have always been very satisfied with both the friendly welcome from staff and the quality of the accommodation. The hotel is very convenient for visiting the city being only a 15minute walk to the centre. Bus and tram stops are also nearby. We were also given a room upgrade which was much appreciated. We had another enjoyable stay at Novotel Bordeaux. We also had a room upgrade which was much appreciated. The hotel is ideally situated for visiting the city being only a 15min walk to the centre. Bus and tram stops are nearby. Friendly staff and good quality accommodation.

I enjoyed the hotel services, the level of cleanliness and the courtesy of the receptionists, especially for me to mention Gav. Lucia. Breakfast was very good. The dinner was expensive compared to what we had ordered and it made the impression that the dish was quick and not tasty. Sorry but that's how we felt.

The room of this hotel is very nicely fitted out with every modern amenity. The service, however, is another matter. I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and I checked in at around six 4pm. The moment I entered the room I realised the aircon was not working. I did not know whether or was the aircon in my room or the hotel had decided to turn off the aircon for the hotel for the season. I asked the front desk immediately at 4 pm. The lady said she did not know if it is just a my room or the w tire hotel but she would ask someone to check. I went out and when I returned at 9 I asked again. Again she did not know if it was the room or the system. Unneeded to now because if it was the room it could be fixed but if it was te hotel I needed to move for the remaining 2 nights. Still no one could tell me if it was just my room or the hotel! If it is a system wide shutdown of the aircon it is a matter of hotel policy and the staff at the front desk should have been to tell me. But no one cold. The next morning the aircon was still not working. When I returned in the afternoon I asked again and the lady said it was fixed, when it was actually not. I asked again and finally the repairman went up to the floor and apparently switched a few buttons to finally turn the aircon back on. This flick of a button was only effected after 24 hours and repeated prompting and questions.

4 nights in Bordeaux, we checked-in online so everything was waiting for us. I asked for a high floor and a bathtub and got a 6th floor great room, with a bathtub. Location was great and staff were friendly. as club members, we received a voucher for a drink at the bar, which was really nice. bed was fantasticaly comfortable, breakfast was generous and rich (though no vegetables at all!) - they hold breakfast from 04:30 - 10:30 and on weekends till 12:00! great service. every morning we received a fresh bottle of mineral water, and it's nice to have the kettle with coffee and tea. Other emneties however, were supplied upon demand like sleepers, body lotion, shampoo and conditioner. the room had only a soap bar and an all-in-one shampoo, shower gel and handwash. Thank you! we will surely come back.

on arriving at the hotel,we checked in with out any problems,The room was clean and modern,we booked an executive room with free mini bar and espresso etc,We were disappointed the following day,The mini Bar was only topped back up with the water,and not the can of beer or peanuts,Also we only had one bathrobe and one pair of slippers,The most annoying thing were the cups in the room were paper ,we asked the reception for the extra robe and slippers and normal cups,Nothing arrived during our stay.On the last night we ate in the Hotel,Both my wife and I had terrible food,The tables in the restaurant were dirty and dirty plates and Glasses were left on empty tables,I have been a member of Accor Hotels for many years,This was not a very enjoyable stay,The city is wonderful,I would visit again,but not this hotel.

I was very pleasantly surprised to find, at check-in, that I had been upgraded to an executive room where everything in the minibar was free and replenished daily. Lovely slippers, terry cloth bathrobe, and bathroom amenities. Rooms were quiet - no noise from outside or inside the hotel. All of the hotel and restaurant staff were efficient, helpful and friendly.

my rating would have been higher , if it was because the was no air conditioning and had to pen the window to get some cool air. the problem is that the hotel is in front of the main forestation and having the window open we would be serenaded by the sirens of the ambulances and fire trucks during the night at least two a night. i understand the need to conserve energy but mid Oct was not cool enough to have the room at a confortable temperature,

« Very average Novotel stay with some service issues »

Stayed in Novotel Bordeaux Centre. It is a standard Novotel which has clearly been refurnished in the last couple of years. A few areas of improvement are required: * Breakfast lacks organisation with common products running out often and the staff there doing nothing until prompted * Put more staff on reception at busy check-out times and importantly don't answer the phone half-way through checking someone out and take a phone booking - it's annoying * Free drink vouchers should cover all people in the room. The "one drink" rule looks cheap and lacks class - Marriott and IHG's similar schemes for regular guests both offer free drinks for all guests in a room. If that's too much just remove the benefit.

« Decent hotel, needs to think through some of the service standards »

Travelled to Bordeaux for a short break. The Novotel Bordeaux centre was relatively pricey but probably reasonable value for a city centre hotel, albeit on the outskirts of the "true centre". The hotel is an average Novotel, clearly having been refurbished in the last few years. Rooms are clean and bright, but air-con is a little feeble. Breakfast is the standard Novotel fayre, but the small room can get very busy with over-spill into the less than ideal bar area.A couple of things to consider:* As a lowly silver member of the Accor loyalty scheme I was give an voucher for a welcome drink at the bar. What is not clear is that this is for one drink. Surely, if you are going to make this gesture then at least offer a drink for both people in the room. The current system appears a bit declasse* The breakfast process is a little disorganised, with a number of items running out and the person in charge of the room doing little about it until prompted* When dealing with a guest checking out, don't answer the phone and then spend several minutes taking a phone booking. It's annoying.Saying that I would probably return if the price was right.

« Very disappointing stay »

Problems with check in really tainted our impression of this hotel. We had received a fast check in email from Accor, which we did but it failed to point out strongly enough that this was subject to availability. The hotel was full the night before so we had to wait an hour while they found a room. Breakfast was the same for four days running and was poor in its offering and cutlery/ china. Everything about this stay felt as though it was done on the cheap for Novotel, not for the benefit of the client. Staff were indifferent with no greeting on arrival or departure. I sent an email to Accor but I have never had a reply. I will never stay in a Novotel again.

Easy & quick pre-booked check-in. Executive room excellent. Helpful staff. Easy check-out. Nespresso machine provided but didn't use it because no instructions card provided. Key cards didn't work on days 2 and day 3. Had to have them reactivated. Why?

« Nice mid range hotel with easy access to all of bordeaux »

Room was very nice. Sufficient room and nice couch to sit on. Room was veryquiet with all we needed Bar service was very disorganized. Bar person had no way to settle accounts so he ran back and forth, leaving people waiting a long time. Breakfast was ample and good
