« Ideal location for visiting the city. »

Comfortable hotel. Well appointed with helpful staff. Good access to public transport to and from the airport and train station. Good restaurants in the vicinity. Our only complaint would be about the condition of the bathroom with mould around the shower.

« Great Location, Lovely staff, slightly dated decor »

The location is within walking distance of anything of interest. The staff were polite, helpful and knowledgeable. Breakfast was copious and good quality. The only slight let down was the decor and particularly the bathroom that could have done with re-mastication to get rid of some mould that had accumulated and to better waterproof the shower experience. But this is a detail. Overall we were very happy and would stay again.

The team at reception were very helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. The waiting staff for lunch and dinner were very efficient and polite. Rim was extremely helpful with my Meeting Room arrangements. A good experience overall.

« Disappointed »

It was really disappointing . It was more like an IBIS than a Novotel : plastic cup innte bathbroom and for the coffee facilities, no amenities, old sofa with holes, smelly: old stuff... the room was clean!

We enjoyed our stay as always. We had a suite (Room 815), and the sitting room looked as if it needed a renovation. Obviously, there have been a lot of meetings in there. Also, it would be better if there were proper cups for coffee and tea rather than the cardboard ones. Particularly as it is your highest price room.

« A great stay in a beautiful city »

The highlight of our stay at Novotel Bordeaux was the exceptional service provided by Lucy. She was delightful at check-in, extremely helpful with information about getting around the city and went out of her way to help sort out a problem we had with a local taxi which was booked by the hotel. She is a great ambassador for your organisation .

« Great location! »

Our room overlooked the plaza, which made for a quiet room. Service was friendly and helpful. Parking is adjacent to the hotel so very convenient. The breakfast selection was very good with eggs (scrambled, fried or boiled), ham, bacon, sausage, cheese, fresh fruit, pastries, croissants, pain au chocolate, cereal, yogurt, juices and coffee. The restaurant for dinner offered a good choice of items with very good service. The hotel is also very close to other great restaurants and shopping.

« It was a comfortable and quiet hotel which allowed us to have a relaxing stay. »

It was as we have come to expect from Novotel, a modern, clean, and comfortable lodging. The important issue was that we were able to rest well at night because it was quiet and the bed was indeed comfortable, as usual. We have become accustomed to the Novotel quality and service, and do not hesitate to make a booking. However, we have had better experiences at some of your other locations. There were two issues that I would raise: 1) The front desk staff in some cases were somewhat aloof. They were professionally courteous, but not more than that. Mostly, they were officious and they rarely, if ever, smiled. They gave only the information we requested, for example about accessing the car park. The code was written on our ticket, but it was not clearly legible, and the front desk clerk made no attempt to clarify it. We had to go back and ask, and she provided the information with something of an attitude that we were being bothersome. 2.) I found a charge for 60 euros on my statement after I returned home. I recall being asked for my credit card when we checked in, and the clerk ran the charge through and I approved it. I thought it must have been for some kind of deposit or the like. I now believe that it was for breakfasts for 2 mornings, which we had declined when we made the booking online. We never have breakfast, and did not for any of the mornings we stayed at the hotel. Again, the front desk clerk did not make clear that this was what the charge was for, so we do feel somewhat put out after paying for something we did not want or use. If at all possible, I would like to have this amount refunded.

« Exactly what we expected, nice facilities, spacious hotel, friendly staff »

Overall quite happy. Located right down the street from the cathedral with a local cuisine Michelin 2017 restaurant in between and a couple Chinese restaurants. An Ibis and a couple other large chains nearby. Woke up with electricity out but was fixed after a phone call. Was told at check-in that my reservation included breakfast, but that ended up not being the case. Otherwise very accommodating, friendly, helpful, multilingual staff. Next time I'll try the newer, more pedestrian friendly area of the city near the river, but I must say this hotel is a great, comfy choice.

Rooms very nice and well sized as is tge bathroom. Breakfast service downstairs also good. Location, however is not as good, although tram service is readily available. Hotel is a good value, but one have to add the cost of taxis.

« Disappointing »

The reception desk got our booking dates wrong. They booked us for 3 nights instead of 4 and we had to change hotels. This was such an inconvenience and completely unnecessary.

« Average hotel, not up to Novotel standards »

I booked this hotel even though the reviews were not so great. The reason behind it was I am a Gold member of the Accor program which means i get some benefits. I will try to review each thing separately: 1. The reception. I almost never mention it but the girls deserve to be mentioned. It felt like they were just hired, they don't have any customer service skills and they try so hard not to be rude but, of course, they fail. Not all of them are that bad, one of them was actually saluting guests in the morning. Unfortunately I don't know her name 2. The room. It was of a decent size for France. The bed was with memory foam and it was very comfortable. I felt fresh after waking up in the morning. My room was also clean and they even changed the sheets after 2 nights. You also have a large flat screen TV with a decent selection of channels, most of them in french. 3. The bathroom. Clean, simple and with the amenities of a 3* hotel, not 4. A lot of things were missing, like the small bottles of shower gel, shampoo or even the shower caps. They had a sign saying to call the reception and ask for anything. I called one night to get facial tissues. 90 minutes later i got toilet paper instead 4. The breakfast. It was varied, with 3 types of cheese, 2 types of meat, lots of local pastries, coffee, tea. Not the greatest breakfast I've seen in a Novotel but certainly not the worst All in all, if there is no other 4* option in Bordeaux, book this one

« A so-so experience »

When you come to a hotel, the first impression you get is from the reception. Mine was bad. When I booked the hotel, i clearly stated that I would be coming in the morning and I asked for an early check in. 2 days before arrival, I asked again for the same thing. Guess what happened? The reception was completely unaware of my request and of course there was no room available. After I insisted a lot, they finally gave us one of the handicapped rooms in the hotel. I expected to be told that we can move later to a normal room but that never happened. I arrived early in many other Accor hotels and they always found a room for me because those hotels appreciate customers that spend thousands of euros in Accor hotels every year. However, here they behaved like they did me a huge favor. Also, as a Gold member, I would get a so called VIP treatment. Here I got a chocolate bar that was expired. Way to go Novotel for making me feel special by trying to get me sick. And another thing that involved the reception. We came one night back from the city only to find no facial tissues in the toilet. So I did what any other guest would do, called downstairs to ask. After waiting for 30 minutes (a first when staying in an Accor hotel) I went myself and got it from the reception. One hour later, someone came and brought me toilet paper even though I had asked for something else. There's not much to say about the stay. The bed was quite ok, probably the only positive experience, the room was clean, the towels and the sheets were changed regularly. The breakfast was good. Compared to other Novotels, I would say it was average.

« Disappointed withj our choice »

Unfortunately we chose a hotel which was quite a distance from where we needed to be to commence a river cruise. However the hotel was adequate for just the one night we stayed.

I do not like to write things like this, but in this case I really need to say something. Your reception, front of house personal is really rude and unfriendly. They did not make us feel welcome at all. They have no name tags to tell us to whom we are speaking to and what langueges they speak. Arriving they did not even say good day or welcome to Novotel Bordeaux or how can we help you. We have booked using some of our reward points and they did not know how your system is working regarding the use of points...happened when we checked in and checked out. We were not informed how late breakfast is where to go. Gave us our key cards and that was it, no information regarding hotel and how things work. Your rooms are great! Making the booking I have spoken to Dan and he was brilliant. Also Lucy was of great help when I phoned the day before our arrival. She even said we arrive early so she is working and she will assist us in where to go and places to see. Arriving asked for Lucy...with no Lucy up to today. Breakfast arriving before 10h00....eating area to small, we had to sit outside and food was finish....We were looking forward to our stay there, because we like to stay at Accor group hotels....it is always a great experience. But to what suprise... we tried to avoid the front desk....
