« Great location but average experience overall »

We stayed three nights in a standard room. The location of the hotel is excellent, only 5-10 minutes walk from the cathedral and very close to a tram stop for reaching more distant places such as the Cite du Vin. Parking in the reserved section of an adjacent public car park worked well for us (albeit at EUR13 per day). Our room was spacious (nice sofa), simply but comfortably furnished (and particularly comfortable bed), and clean. Useful to have a small fridge, but unimpressive coffee making facility - paper cups, meagre supplies (bring your own). The ambience of the hotel is quite pleasant. The staff we dealt with were friendly, but lacked urgency. The safe in the room did not work; it was never fixed despite saying they would, and no explanation given. Breakfast was pretty good - a fair selection. Scrambled eggs - our litmus test of breakfasts in hotels - was terrible one day, not so bad the next, and brilliant on the third day. So more consistency needed. Also cold plates for hot food. On one morning the staff were overwhelmed, but showed little urgency in clearing tables and topping up the buffet to keep pace with the guests arriving. People were left standing around. We had dinner in the restaurant one evening. The food was pretty average - nice foie de veau, but the gigot was an odd cut, a large fatty lump. Service friendly but slow - possibly disrupted by a conference dinner elsewhere in the hotel. We've stayed in many Novotel and Mercure hotels around the world. For the Novotel brand we would say this is the bottom of the range. We'd stay again, especially for the location, but there's room for improvement.

toilet broken. reception not friendly. old room. only 1 voucher for drink for 3 persons. only plastic cups. no tooth brush, tooth paste, shaving set, ear cottons, without asking, very hot room and no airco. no upgrade offered to new room. service oblivious, etc.

« Good hotel but average experience for me. »

ON arrival I was offered a room which had strong smell of fresh paint in it. Since I am allergic to paint odours, it was not a pleasant experience for me. I could not change the room because I was told that the rooms are sold out so only the rooms with no view (rear side) rooms were available. I had to also wait for an hour before I got my room cleaned up.

« can do so much more »

Arrival drop off = messy small layout. There is a fitness centre on ground level and guests have to go up to level 1 for the reception. The entrance could be so much more inviting. Check-in = good. Accessibility = good Rooms = small. Long wall w a tiny window out. Separate WC from shower. refurbishment of an old tired looking building. Air conditioning pumps out warm stale air, even though thermostat was turned to lowest. Had switch off and leave the windows open. Provided a bar of soap and in shower, a wall attached squeeze bottle of all on one gel. No moisturiser, conditioner. Breakfast = good spread. Continental w a small hot buffet selection. DIY fried egg stand, impractical and v unhygienic. Le club Accor benefits = the first time ever was given only 1 voucher for welcome drinks even though there are 2 people in the room. Had to show staff the fine prints on the Accor website before they reluctantly accepted and provided a second voucher. they need to be better informed. Suggestions to improve. - Improve entrance. - provide more toiletries at least list on website what is provided. So that guest can prepare. - enlarge the rooms. - introduce a club lounge - add more personal touches. Feels like a cold business hotel .. might as well be an ibis!

« Perfect position. Easy to get to from bus or tram. »

Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff who were more than happy to suggest places of interest to see. The room was clean and big enough to spread out. The separate lavatory was a bonus. The location of this hotel is within easy walking distance to the main city centre, the river and transportation . We really enjoyed out stay here.

« Wonderful Stay »

The availability of illicit drugs and cheap slutty prostitutes made my stay quite enjoyable. I was really pleased that the concierge was willing to suggest the highest quality brothels close to the hotel. It was really convenient to be able to walk to one and only be gone for a short time as not to arouse the suspicions of my wife. I would happily recommend your hotel to anyone who is looking for a high quality suite to stay in while spending their time intoxicated on alcohol and illegal drugs and enjoying the company of loose women.

« Clean well located but basic »

Overall a comfortable stay and would revisit because the location was excellent with good breakfast. The room was clean but basic for an executive room having stayed in upgraded rooms at the Novotel chain before was expecting a little more in terms of decor by comparison. Towelling was a little on the tired side

« My stay was OK. »

The bath drain was blocked so it kept filling up when I was showering. Apart from a bar of soap, there were no body cream or shampoo which is nearly standard in most hotels I've stayed in. I was charged €16 for a breakfast on the day that I checked in which was after 4pm so not sure how I managed to have a breakfast at this time, nor did I have breakfast on my last morning there. Very expensive for what you get.
