« Everything very good (reception staff, room) but the breakfast was not »

The breakfast: eggs left under heat lamp so yolks were hard; bacon was under cooked; coffee was from a machine; tea was not served to table in a teapot; fresh fruit was tasteless; yogurts only offered as low fat or no fat - no full fat available All other aspects of the stay were very good

« Room was clean but very dated. »

Overall stay was let down by the meals I had in your restaurant. Friday night not to bad but Saturday night the meal was that bad I could not eat it. Tried to talk to duty manager. Overall service very poor. Bar staff and chief messing around behind the bar.

All good meaning business trip was fine. Friendly staff at reception and breakfast. Only thing to be improved was the organisation of the car parking. I arrived late and parked in car park, but was not told of the need to pay until checkout the next morning (seeminglt I'll get a letter that I need to ignore?)

Room had no air con and was on 1st floor right by a very noisy roundabout. As it's so hot I tried sleeping with the window open, but Ipswich is clearly a town that doesn't sleep! As a consequence, I didn't get much sleep either.

Check in was efficient, pleasant and hassle free, receptionist acknowledged I was a previous customer. Hotel overall is excellent and extremely well located for a business trip to Ipswich. I didn't eat in the restaurant apart from breakfast which was very good. Bar service good and even on the second night when there was a wedding party there was no disruption or excessive noise.

They have clearly spent money on the reception and bar but the rooms are a big disappointment. Old textured wallpaper, discoloured doors and generally tired in appearance. For the same money I would stay at the nearby premier Inn for future visits.

« A comfortable overnight stay booked very late/last minute »

As usual, spacious room with mostly good facilities and clean bedding. Good shower. I called hotel directly very late (10pm) to book a room, and most things were fine. Carpet had a few stains on it - could do with changing. Bathroom toiletries (shampoo, shower gel) were missing, which we only discovered in the morning. I tried calling Customer Service on 888 several times but the phone was never answered (around 8.30am on morning of 24-Jun), so we had to go without.
