We have stayed at this Hotel several times and the Staff are always very good. This visit we found the bed very hard. This I can understand can be a personal choice. The dinner was not good and not cooked well, in so far my wife could not eat it. We have eaten here before and find it very variable, letting down what is an excellent hotel.

Booked at 7.30 pm for same night, got a call from front desk at 8.00 pm to check what time I would arrive to arrange as best as possible my stay. Asked kindly the lady to have some diner ready to serve into my room at y arrival time between 210.30 pm / 11.00 pm and all was ready when arrived. Super team from the kitchen to the front desk including waiters from the bar. Everybody super smiley, top quality service, flexibility and with good vibes. A pleasure to be hosted by high standard quality. A must come back from my side. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR ATTENTION !!!! Much appreciated !!!

I am disappointed to have carton cups and powdered milk in the rooms in a 4 star hotel. you have a fridge in the rooms so could easily supply proper milk and to have carton cups is disgraceful how difficult is it to clean cups.

Poor standard of room and poor customer service from one member of reception staff

Stayed at this hotel on many occasions but unfortunately we will not be returning following our experience with poor customer service from one young lady on reception who failed to listen to our concerns or try to resolve them. Our room no. 275 was of a very poor standard - stains inside the bath, mould around the window frames, paint chipped off all doors, stained furniture. Unacceptable noise and overwhelming fumes from heavy plant machinery used by gardeners outside the hotel just by our room. We appreciate the work has to be carried out at some point but the young lady on reception was very unhelpful when we asked what time the work would be finished as after a very long drive through France we wanted to relax.

Following a long drive through France to Anglet we were looking forward to the normally high standard of the Novotel brand.On checking in we were allocated room 275 which in our opinion was certainly not of a superior standard. The inside of the bath was stained, all painted doors were badly chipped, there was mould around the window frames, the furniture was stained and the bathroom mirror was badly chipped around the edges. We have stayed at this hotel on many occasions but have never stayed in a room that was below an acceptable standard. However, we decided to ‘make do’ and look forward to our stay the following evening at the Novotel, Valladolid in Spain where excellent standards in all aspects are guaranteed.However, we were not able to ‘make do’ with the awful noise from the heavy plant machinery used by the gardeners working outside the hotel just by our room. Also we were not able to open the window to allow fresh air into the room as the room was hot – in addition to the awful noise the fumes from the machinery were overwhelming. I went down to speak to Nina, the young lady on reception to enquire what time the gardeners would be finished only to be met by an unhelpful, disinterested attitude and to be told she didn’t know but maybe 5 or 6pm. I also mentioned that the room was of a poor standard but my main concern was the noise. She checked on her computer and informed me that she had no availability to move us to a different room….I didn’t actually ask to be moved to a different room but simply wanted to know what time the gardeners would be finished and to make her aware of the poor standard of room we had been allocated. I informed her that we needed to relax in our room after our long drive and if we knew what time they would be finished we would maybe go out for a drive and return when they had completed their work. Nina did not seem that interested in our concerns and did nothing to try to resolve the issue.However, I would like to say a big thank you to the young lady on reception who checked us out the following morning as she listened and acted upon our concerns and who went out of her way to liaise with the reception staff at the Novotel Valladolid to organise some special treats to be delivered to our room which was totally unexpected and much appreciated.Unfortunately I would have to agree with another reviewer that this hotel has lost is sparkle and we will probably not return any time soon.

Stayed at this hotel pre and post makeover , and in the past my experience of this hotel was very good ,and i even claimed it to be one of my favourites , my experience this time did not meet my expectations. Did online check in and arrived at 1245 , got key to our room ,however when we went to the room the maid had not finished ... no problem , and made it clear to take you time , as we would go for something to eat .No hot soup on the menu , and no tastier burgers , a winning formula in the past .ordered ham omelette (omelette jambon ) but got a plain one instead , nothing wrong with it ,and it was nice ,but not what i wanted. Breakfast is served between 6.00 and 1030 , someone needs to tell the waiter that , first morning , arriving just after 10.00, no milk in the coffee machine , and the other one had been switched off for cleaning , the hot ovens had been switched off to , bacon and sausages cold .....Next morning arriving before 10.00 hot ovens switched off , but one coffee machine still going the other being switched off for cleaning ...3rd moring no sign of the clock watching waiter , got hot bacon and sausages and hot coffee, it was nice to sit and take your time and enjoy your breakfast , 1 out of 3 is appalling.This hotel is not cheap and breakfast cheap either . This used to be a really good hotel that i enjoyed coming to , based on my experience this time it really needs to improve.No doubt i will get a apology and will thank us for my feedback , but something needs done , judging how busy the hotel and restaurant was at one time and look at it now , well it has lost its sparkle .Would welcome any feedback ...........
