Room was nice but the main reason for our high rating is that you helped us with a commercial problem we were facing. We had some food samples (in packaging) that needed storing in a fridge overnight and your chef very kindly allowed us to store them in the kitchen. Without that our whole trip, flights , hotel and car hire would have been wasted.

OUr room already had someone in it so we were very efficiently moved to another. The bar at the event had tesco tonic but on telling the hotel bar that also was quickly replaced. Not that impressed with the buffet but maybe that was the hosts' choice.

No one on reception when we arrived so we had to stand and wait for some time to check in. No apology from the young girl who eventually returned to the desk. The room was adequate and the beds were comfortable, but the pillows weren't. At the breakfast desk we got no smile or good morning from the young men serving both days, they just asked for our room number. Breakfast was good and the hot food seemed to be replenished quickly. Check out was much better. Very pleasant young lady on reception and no waiting.

« Modern and comfortable but beds too firm. »

We found the hotel in a very handy location off junction 7 on the A1 (M) motorway. Modern building and very comfortable. Our room was impressive with air conditioning and walk-in shower but immediately found the beds were too firm, a common fault we find in hotels. We asked for a mattress topper but all we were offered was additional duvets and pillows. Not good enough. On our 2nd night we took the mattresses off the fold down bed and put them on top of ours. This was much better and we had a good sleep. The only other suggestion would be to provide a shower cap. My wife went into town to buy one.

Hotel lovely reception desk staff very good but the Restaurant Evening meal my Husband had Pizza and the hash browns at Breakfast was over cooked so not an enjoyable Evening meal or Breakfast and I had fish & chips they had run out of ordinary chips and I don't like mushy peas and they run out of ordinary peas we where not impressed.

We have been staying at the Novotel in Stevenage in order to visit my mother who is very poorly in a local hospital. The hotel staff have been so helpful and caring, noticing that I have been on my own trying to manage with three children and helping out wherever possible. I can’t thank them enough and despite the awful circumstances of our stay it has been a comfortable experience.

We arrived after midnight and greeted by friendly staff.. The room was clean and modern, with I believe 24hrs of wi fi. There was some miscommunication re breakfast times. I thought I had heard 12pm like the late checkout but it was 11 am. We had missed our prepaid breakfast, but Eve (Hospitalty Manager?) managed to get a satisfactory breakfast for us, abley assisted by Pam. I am aware she could have kept to the hotel timing and said it was too late, but she did not. This act of thoughtfulness made the next part of my journey with the children less stressful.
