Looked like a good hotel with pleasant helpful staff. When we checked our twin room one bed had multiple SHORT hairs over the fresh bottom covers and their were no protect mattresses on the bed. The other bed had hair on the bottom sheet also. The new room was better with protect mattresses on the beds.

Every time I stay at Novotel I come across staff that really don’t know what they are doing which means their hospitality is below the standard I usually receive from other hotel chains.

We had a great stay the room was spacious. A larger bedroom window would have been nice. Not just a curtain over a wall. Bathroom was really nicely done. Would have preferred a toilet in bathroom. As you may want to wash hands immediately. Breakfast was good, although there was not enough staff on especially if breakfast was very busy. But would come back certainly.

Felt much like a budget hotel, bedroom carpets were stained, took a long time to be served at bar for drinks, breakfast choice much better but looked like it had been out a long time - hash browns were stale. Glasses from the bar and at breakfast were dirty.

Clean room, good size and specification. Fair price but I ordered a meal that was expensive and just too hot - chicken noodles. Breakfast was good and staff friendly i would recommend you but not the evening restaurant or the bar prices - Second night it was cheaper to get taxis to Stevenage than eat and drink in the hotel

I travelled from Scotland for a wedding and the journey was a very long 7 hours. I was able to get an early check in so that I could freshen up prior to getting to the church and was greeted by extremely helpful and accommodating staff to ensure we were ready for our day ahead.

A year ago when my son told us he was getting married I booked 4 rooms. On the 14th August, 2018 I was asked to confirm the rooms. As there was an extra room booked I sent an email confirmation. On the day of the wedding they had the wrong names on the system. Obviously they didn't change it when I emailed back. Also on the 27th September I requested our room to be prioritise on the 29th as my husband had recently had two procedures done on his back and needed to lay down before the wedding. This was not done. Just as well that we get on with my ex husband and his wife as we were able to use their room. To sum it all up the rooms were lovely and the breakfast first class but the booking was an utter shamble. Very disappointing.

Bedroom fine,clean and well kept;we had two rooms with breakfast for three nights but the hotel had functions and groups on two nights;breakfast was therefore unsatisfactory despite the efforts of staff and Saturday evening there was nowhere pleasant to sit- chairs had been cleared in the social area which was very untidy no doubt as a result of the wedding reception; however you need to safeguard the interests of private guests so as they are not swamped by functions.Also no newspapers available Saturday or Sunday
