despite renovated room and convenient location close to motorway, there is a big problem with cleanliness management in hotel common area (doors dirty, old carpet dirty, lift wall and floor soiled...). Also too cold room and breakfast room. Why windows are still open when temperature is 16°C outside!!

Good. Twin beds a little narrow and range of complimentary drinks could’ve done with a couple of bottles of water or a soft drink but was happy in general. Breakfast was a positive, lots of choice and good quality.

Great location for visiting Knebworth Park. Welcoming lobby and check in staff very friendly. Family room was a great size. Few small details let it down. One of the towels was filthy. There were a lot of stains on the carpet. Breakfast was good but the coffee machine was broken and didn't have any milk. No note or explanation, everyone was being left to figure it out on their own.

Verla not too bad, however I did have to wait at the unattended check in desk for around 10 minutes, which was a little frustrating.

Generally very good except for two exceptions. 1/ The shower in the bathroom had had a new but unsuitable shower head fitted. This made it impossible to point the shower downwards resulting in most of the water going directly onto the floor. 2/ The service in the bar and from the bar to the tables in the restaurant was polite and friendly but unacceptably slow.

Nice modern and fresh, but one waitress in the evening dining area was not enough, she did very well, Megan, considering she had to do everything herself, despite asking other staff for help.

Both the room and the room service were very good. However the bar was not welcoming and we had to wait for service even though it was a very quiet night. Staff not helpful. On arrival the reception desk were welcoming and helpful. On departure we met with a surly and disinterested person at the desk . Not even an enquiry about our stay . Also my surname was incorrectly spelt and I asked for this to be corrected . However this has not been altered. It should be Pannell.

Good hotel, staff are letting everything down

This hotel is conveniently located and of a good standard. However, as a Gold member, I have not once ever been given a room upgrade and have to ask for drinks voucher. Restaurant staff poor, as well as the buffet food. Continuous issues with invoices and wrongly being charged for services that have already been paid.

Location ideal for me. hotel was clean and spacious. Understaffed, always under pressure but coped very well and helpful. Noisy due to wedding guests, same happened last year, made suggestion then but obviously ignored Food: Breakfast was not very good, cooked food was warm at best although there was variety. Dinner was very limited on choice, portions small for the price. Overall the food was the biggest let down, probably wouldn't eat there again

The room was nice, clean and comfy and well worth the room rate including breakfast. However where the experience falls flat is the service. Staff were slow, and not particularly helpful. Some even showed obvious disgruntlement at being disturbed when asked questions. (Like, can I order food here? Or is it ok to take food outside?) the bar was very limited in its choices and the Stella Artois on tap was off. it tasted sugary and grossly sweet and everyone was complaining about it yet the bar staff didn’t care. And they ran out of lemonade on the Friday evening.. even though a wedding party had booked out the majority of the hotel for the whole weekend, so it was frustrating to have ran out of a popular mixer so early. My evening meal that cost £18 came out within 7 minutes and was clearly a frozen pizza they had warmed up In the microwave. It was rubbery and vile. And not worth anywhere near the price. The same can be said about the eggs at the breakfast buffet. I’d stay here again, but wouldn’t eat or drink here again. The cleaners were lovely however and very helpful!

Check in slow, room ok but unsuitable for disabled use as wet room did not have sloping floor and water did not drain away making it very slippery. Restaurant under staffed on Friday evening had a long wait although staff apologetic. Long wait at bar for drinks. Breakfast good. Beds comfortable. Generally in need of redecoration as paintwork scruffy in areas. Reception area needs air conditioning. Tables not cleared quickly inside and out, cans and glasses left outside for long period
