« Attentive staff. »

Staff helped effectively to resolve technical problem resulting in double booking on the web. Comfortable room, though netting over the façade for repairs covering the window. The hotel door was closed when I arrived at 9:45 pm and had to ring the bell. Fortunately, the restaurant was still partially open.

« Everybody was very kind and professional. »

The only big problem is the parking. We have to go at the reception first, then go back to the car and try to have to go backwards to get into the parking place. When there are already 3 cars behind you it is impossible to backtrack and so you have to drive around the place which is very very very complicated, certainly when you have driven 900 km by car.

It was close to the Railway Station and I am a Accor member so it made sense to stay there. There seemed to be some external work to the building which had minimal impact, other than that it was fine..

This is a terrific hotel from where you can access all the wonderful historical sights of Nimes through walking. Finding the hotel and organizing parking was a little challenging (confused GPS) but the desk staff and manager were committed to caring for their guests. Undercover, protected parking in the centre of Nimes is a huge advantage. We were very pleased to get a view looking across to the Roman arena at night and could watch the light show changing colour. We had some confusion over our pre-paid dinner (choice of menu) but again, the manager intervened swiftly and effectively to ensure ours was a positive experience. Buffet breakfast was very good. Great experience.

« Room too hot, and control was not possible. »

We are regular visitors to this hotel - convenient location, reasonable price, and generally good rooms. This time, however, the room was quite warm. I requested a room change, believing the temp. control was not working. However, I was told that throughout the hotel, the air conditioning had been turned off for the season (heat also not yet turned on either), so there was no ability to control room comfort. And even the fan, to circulate air, was not functioning properly - at "high" setting, I could feel no air movement. We tried to keep the window open to let fresh air in, but the street noise, even in the middle of the night, was not tolerable. It was a very uncomfortable night!! It is not acceptable for a hotel of this quality to simply decide to shut down the ability for guests to control the temperature in their rooms! On a positive note, however, the food quality at dinner was markedly improved since our stay here in May, and we will again consider eating at the restaurant (we did not eat dinner here during our last stay in August because of the poor May experience.

Four night stay in NImes - good sized double room with a view of the historic city centre. However, we did not like the breakfast system: full breakfast served in the restaurant, mini (City) only at the bar, so if two people wanted different breakfasts they had had to eat separately

Réception staff very friendly and willing to help. Google Maps need to be contacted how to get to hotel since new roads have been in place since 4 years. Entrance hotel: dodgy looking. A tired look and old furniture in lobby that has 90s look and feel Beds too small: 160 cm while most hotels have beds 180cm. And no twin beds available. In stead an old looking couch with 2 separate beds in it. Room also looks 90s. A plus: nice size tv Bkfst: ok and plentiful

Most things was excellent however the the quality of the breakfast was at best poor, even when the hot food was replaced it was cold, the staff in the dining room were not attentive to the guests and seem to want to clear down the sides rather than replenish hot water for the Tea, also it seem that we as guests to be an inconvenience. No staff member attending the bar when wanting a drink ( so don’t us the free drink vouchers) Being a members of the group this was our worst experience within the many hotels we have visited all over Europe

We are regular Novotel guests, so these comments are relative to our years of prior visits. Reservations ease (online) and online check-in ease have improved noticeably. The front desk service has also improved. Room quality was of the standard of excellence that we expect of Novotel. Breakfast service, including food quality, and bar service also remain at levels of quality we expect. However, we are very disappointed in the scope and value of the dinner offerings. Over the past year, we've seen a marked change in the range of foods offered (significant reduction) and the value and quality of the offerings. This is very disappointing to us. Previously, we saw Novotel as a warm and welcoming pause in our travels, and looked forward to enjoying evening dinners at the hotel. However, since the evident change in approach, at least in dinner service, we will now begin dining outside of the hotel. We sincerely hope that the current strategy for the dinner service will be reversed!

I have stayed at this hotel many times. Received an Accor loyalty welcome, and an upgrade. I have never had a bad stay here, and the hotel is both centrally located and super quiet. No problems ever, and great people on the hotel's team.

« Not up to our expectations. »

The evening meal was very poor. The chef did come out and apologise and gave us the main course free but then we didn't eat it anyway!!! Too many staff in the morning in front of guests with coffee and chatting. Not everyone I noticed got a "good morning" more like "what is your room number" without eye contact. Too long for guests to cook their own fried eggs---cooked trays of food not replenished. Staff at the reservation desk very good and welcoming.

Having used Novotel many times I was disappointed in my stay . Although you had contact details and could have emailed guests to advise of th esituationwe were not allowed in the hotel for 45 minutes on arrrival due to PSG team bus being there and guards not allowing entry. We were not allowed to enter the car park as guards directed traffic past the hotel only. When we finally persuaded these heavies to allow us in I mentioned this to the gentleman on the desk and he simply said it's security. As we had parked elsewhere he said we could use the hotel car park but didnt advise I would not be allowed in. Hence I waited another 45 minutes outside in 30c temperatures even though I spoke to the same security man by the team coach as i had when he let me out!! I was advised it would be 5 minutes and it was much much longer. even the Police attempted to get access for guests but failed. If the team were about to walk out i can understand the security situation but when they were still in their air conditioned rooms it was unacceptable that guests had to stand outside so long for no reason. Other guests have as much right as footballers to be in their rooms as oposed to being treated like a lower class. It was more like the former Queen of France saying "let the peasants eat cake". Very disappointed with Novotel and it does make me think again about using the hotel chain
