Very helpful reception staff. Air con a bit weak. Breakfast far too expensive for what it was. Room comfortable.

« Pleasant 7 day stay in Nimes »

We arrived at the railway station, it is only a 7 minute walk to the hotel, reception staff were efficient and found us a room on a low floor as requested. Room was of generous size with efficient AC, it was very hot outside. Breakfast was adequate, but items would not be in the same place 2 days running, needed to hunt. Tea making facilities were poor with a funny taste to the water used, but the hot chocalote was good. We did eat one evening in the restaurant, the menu was limited, but the food was cold, very disappointed. I saw another guest send her entire meal back to the kitchen. The reception staff were very helpful in trying to sort out a couple of issues we had with lost glasses and wallet.

« Great location, but parking commitments are not held »

As a family with a small child, traveling by car, we chose this hotel for two key reasons: very central location and possibility to reserve parking. Parking was reserved and confirmed, yet none was available when we are arrived. Rather than the “We are so sorry” I had expected, I got more of a “Tough luck, reserving doesn’t mean that you are guaranteed a spot”. Yes, the location is great and the rooms are typical Novotel style. I will however never stay there again.

The rooms were clean, but need - at least - new carpets, as huge stains dot the existing carpet from door to window. Very noisy air conditioning. When I raised my concerns with the front desk staff - nothing but excuses. Of course this is not a Sofitel, but Accor has chosen to be represented by this property in Nîmes, and it should do better. I’ve been careless enough to prepay another stay at this hotel 13 days after this stay. Keeping my fingers crossed...

For the first time ever, I’ve stayed at an AccorHotels property that I cannot recommend. First of all there is absolutely no recognition of guest loyalty. Only stayed one night as we were getting the TGV / EuroStar back to UK. Room was roomy and the bathroom and separate toilet very good. Breakfast was fine and covered for all tastes.

A great hotel for its location as walkable to town and arena . The hotel itself is rather tired and dated, cramped dining but pleasant staff. Difficult to get to car park with luggage. As no lift and steps to car park.

Nice hotel in centre of town with parking garage (parking is a problem in Nimes). Restaurant and room-service is not what one might expect from a 4* hotel. Friendly staff. Sleeper sofa is of poor quality but the main bed is more than OK.

« Not up to the usual standard of this hotel. »

Online check-in worked flawlessly this time, so this is an improvement over past experiences. Front desk staff were courteous and efficient as usual. However, the room we were first assigned reeked of cigarette odor, even though it was a designated non-smoking room. It was necessary to go back to the front desk and get another room assigned. Unfortunately, we discovered during the night that the A/C in this room did not work properly since the temperature would not lower according to the thermostat settings we made. So we became uncomfortably warm during the night and slept badly. Another problem encountered was in the restaurant where we have usually been quite satisfied. The quality of the meal was not up to par, even though there was a special "Feria de Nimes" menu. My wife's main dish (magret de canard) was not even warm when served, and the magret was excessively fatty, with very little meat. We had also opted, at the time of making our hotel reservation online, to purchase the offered dinner option; however, we were told that this was not available due to the special menu, but that we would receive a reduction on the dinner cost. When we checked out, however, even though the line item indicated that the dinner was charged at "Taux Reduit", the price charged was the full price listed on "la carte." When I reviewed my bill two days later and noted this situation, I called the hotel to request adjustment, and spoke to the restaurant manager. He said that he would research the problem and respond to me by email. I have received no response from him as of today, a week after speaking with him. Finally, the WiFi service in the hotel was not working throughout our stay. We were not advised of this problem upon check-in, and learned of it only after asking the front desk, after wasting more than 30 minutes trying to establish the connection. Because it was a holiday, we were told that no one was available to repair the problem that had started the day before our arrival and continued throughout our stay. These experiences are not of the standard that I expect from Novotel, and certainly not like our prior stays at this hotel.

The hotel is very conveniently located near the train station and the main attractions of the city, notably the roman amphitheater. It's nice, modern, a bit overpriced for what it offers. Breakfast was particularly disappointing. The very few staff available were more preoccupied to try (and fail) to separate a large tour group from the rest of the guests like us, than to provide service. Empty trays of food were not replaced and nobody came to clear dirty plates from our table. Overall, an unsatisfactory experience, compared to other Novotels we stayed at.

Excellent location. All the staff in all departments were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were very good. Room was spacious with a lovely view but carpets and décor need renewing, they make it look tired and dowdy. The large double bed was far too close to the wall. I am small with short legs but getting in and out of bed was not easy , especially in the middle of the night. This could be a great disadvantage to a bigger person. It was good to have the toilet separate from the shower room. Shower room was spacious with a good shower but grouting around the tiles needed renewing. Good to have tea / coffee making facilities but cardboard cups and just one tea bag of each variety seems penny pinching. We had some faults while we stayed - safe not working , shower tray not emptying but these were fixed promptly by two very efficient female employees. The main plus points for the hotel are its location and its staff - we can`t praise the staff highly enough.

Hotel in the perfect location for all the attractions and railway station.Very helpful staff and comfortable room.The dinner menu was very limited and not to my tastes with the days special repeated for two days and surrounding resturants not always open.
