« Nice Hotel in Center of Paris »

It's a nice hotel in the center of Paris and provide good value for money. The breakfast is simple but decent. I will recommend it if the plan is to stay visit Paris for most part of the day and stay in hotel at night.

« Friendly and helpful staff »

It is my third stay in the Mercure Faubourg Montmartre, I've always been happy however this time not really. The all air conditioning system of the hotel was inoperative since it completely broke down while outside temperature reached 36 degres. I arrived on Sunday evening and was informed by reception that AC broke down, managed to be fixed by Tuesday evening sleeping with open window for some air. Hotel staff stated that AC was so old, therefore food for thought for the hotel management to invest and maintain instead of being greedy. Reception always professional and helpful and offered free breakfast as a service recovery. I'll be back ...

« Noisy + boiling = very little sleep »

I stayed for 2 nights and the room was absolutely boiling. I was told after a first night of very bad sleep that the air conditioning was broken and being fixed. It actually felt like the heating was on. Far from being fixed, the second night was worse. Still boiling and I realised the walls are paper thin so the conversations and comings/goings of the neighbouring room also kept me awake. The front desk staff blamed the delay in reparing the heating system on heavy rain, which I questioned as the day had been mostly dry. A reluctant apology was offered but no compensation. The saving grace was a gorgeous breakfast and close location to where I needed to be. However the disrupted sleep made my task over this work-related stay very difficult and I am disappointed as a result. Not what I expected from Mercure!

« Very Poor, not what i expect »

Staff were not helpful nor truthful to me during the stay, no care to the fact that i am a platinum accor member, For the duration of my stay i had issues with my TV (only English speaking channel was not working) i had to ask everyday if it was going to be fixed, they kept saying yes and it never was. My room had a bad smell - no one cared I ordered room service one night which after an hour had not arrived (it was already 10.30pm) so i cancelled it and went to bed that night without eating any dinner Air con in the room did not work Overall not a nice experience for me

Small and old room, no desk, food not on par, slow check-in. Membership rate almost 3 times as high as rate on online booking sites.

« Perfect hotel for our needs »

We don't travel internationally so not sure how it lines up with frequent travelers expectations, but we loved this hotel - clean attractive lobby, English speaking front desk, everyone very nice and pleasant. We got very lucky - top floor room with no neighboring rooms/noise, no street noise and great views, so not sure about 'normal' rooms. The bathroom was modern, there was a mini-fridge we could use (not loaded with overpriced stuff), beds were comfortable, carpet was clean. Not much lighting was a little strange but not a big deal. Definitely nothing fancy but everything nice and clean and well maintained. Tiny 2 person elevator but no problems. Very convenient location for restaurants, and only a 10-15 minute walk to Galleries Lafayette. The main boulevard the hotel is off of has a lot of American Tourist chain restaurants (starbucks, chipotle, etc) but packed with small restaurants and very close to Metro stops. Our first time in Paris but we thought we lucked out - great value as far as we could tell. Easy check-in and out.

« Nice peaceful hotel but tiny room »

All ok but the rooms are small and air con not sufficient to deal with hot weather. Some mornings the noise from dustbin lorries collection was too much. The cabs the hotel recommended was overcharging. Different prices every morning to go to the same station. Check fairs before you accept.

« Not value for money »

- tiny rooms for >€300/night - hardly functioning air con - no extra amenities in the room (no ironing board available for the whole stay)

« Couldn't ask for more, everything was too good! »

Good location, easy local travelling, local shops/restaurants, tourists attractions near by, friendly & helpful staff, tea making facilities & mini-freeze in the room, free Wi-Fi & printing facilities.

« It was dirty, stuffy, and extremely small with indifferent staff. »

I booked a balcony room but instead was put in an extremely small room overlooking the glass over the bar area. Supervisor never there to talk to about it. Staff was mostly indifferent to our needs. We were dying of thirst but they wouldn't sell us anything to drink as the bar man wasn't there. Why couldn't it be added to our room? Our second night there, the power went out! Staff never told anyone what was going on. My family came to my room as they could see fire trucks & firemen bringing water hoses into the building. Was the building on fire? Should we leave? Never a word! We decided to leave & go outside to be safe as we had 3 children with us, but upon leaving the room, discovered the bulbs in the emergency lighting were apparently burned out as it was pitch dark! Luckily we had flashlights on our cell phones. It was a very dangerous situation & extremely scary! Finally, someone told us that it was a fuse in the kitchen, there was no fire, but you could definitely smell burnt wiring even on the 2nd floor where I was. Air conditioning kept going off so room was too hot. I have asthma so made it harder for me to breathe as I need the cold air to sleep. Could barely walk around the beds at the end and one side. Other side a bit bigger but had to put suitcases there, so left with next to no room that side, too. Beds were clean but mattresses broken down and very uncomfortable to sleep on. Didn't help my arthritic bones at all! Carpet was shag from the 1970's. Filthy, was never vacuumed, and the padding was non-existent under most of it. My room had a shower but the floor of the shower was very slippery. I inquired about a rubber mat, but never got anything. I asked about a handicap room, but was told there were none. Then halfway through our stay, I was asked to pay the bill for the stay so far! I was shocked! Made me feel like I was not to be trusted to pay for it at the end. It was humiliating! I was paying for 2 rooms as I was treating family. My total bill for both rooms (both in the same condition except family did get a balcony room) was well over 5,300 Euros, which is around 6,000 USD. I expected a lot more for that kind of money. I will never stay with them again!

« Carpet is gross  »

The location is good , friendly staff, shower situation could improve; the glass is too short and water went everywhere, also the shower head woulf, carpet on floor is not great.

« The hotel is nice enough to be considered a 3 stars, definitely not a 4 stars »

For the first two days there were issues with electricity in the building. The breakfast, which we payed in advance, was subpar compared to other Mercure hotels we've been. Likewise, the room was very small compared to the previous experiences and we had to ask for "bathroom bags" and soap.

« Electric  »

The electric went out for an entire night and following mining; no phone charging no hot water no lights no elevator. I should of just camped and saved myself the headache and price sticker

Great, everything you need for a hotel. We weren't in the hotel a lot because we were sight seeing however the accommodations were good! Air conditioning could be better

« Nice hotel with good location »

Everything was good, the check in and check out were fast. The hotel is located just opposite the Folie Berger. The room was quite big but I would like to mention that it was privilege one. It was a bit strange for me when the electricity stopped during the night and the problem was not fixed till the afternoon. Overall, I am satisfied with my stay in this hotel. I would recommend it to every one who wants to be in the centre of Paris, close to Opera, Galleries Lafayette, etc.
