« Overpriced, small, nothing special »

There was nothing particularly wrong with our stay but the room was tiny, overpriced, and not what you would expect from a price point at this level. The temperature control in the room was very poor. Apparently there was a another air-conditioning unit located elsewhere but this was not properly signposted on the temperature control which was visible simply did not work.

Helpful staff, clean and comfortable room (a bit small but normal for Paris), good breakfasts. Gluten free rolls (request in advance as not usually provided). Not great for metro lines to the centre, but half an hour's walk brings you to most of the main museums and shops.

« No folly to stay near the Folies Bergere. »

We received a warm welcome at reception and our room was ready. The room was clean and tidy and all the amenities were in good order. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice and competent and helpful staff were on hand. We would look no further for a hotel on our next trip to Paris.

We received a warm welcome on reception and our room was ready. The room itself was clean and tidy and the amenities were all in good working order. The buffet breakfast was extensive and the staff competent and helpful. We certainly would look no further than this hotel when making trips to Paris in the future.

The rooms were small, but clean and fresh. The staff was friendly & helpful. The location was great. We loved the restaurant and cafes in the area. The wall between the rooms and the doors were not well insulated. So we could here all that was said in the room next door and in the corridors.

Arrived there on time, online checked in. There was a group of 30 people already waiting for their rooms. As I understood that since I had received a sms saying,"your keys are ready, we are waiting for you" I assumed that I would not have to wait in such a queue to get the room keys. When I approached the desk, only 1 person working there, I was told. As you can see I'm helping these other people first. You must wait your turn. I told the lady, I had done online check in and my keys must be ready. So are you sure that I should wait? She rolled her eyes and in the most condescending way told me that she is going to help the group first. I had to wait about 40 minutes. Now, I have checked in, in groups many times. Either the keys for the whole groups are ready before the group arrives. Or if the group arrives unannounced the group has to wait, as the normal guests must not be made to wait. This was very rude of the staff and made me look as if I have come to stay at a hotel for the first time and I lack all civic sense. I shall never visit this hotel again.

« Poor facility and amenities »

The hotel is in the prime location and room rate is high, each staff is full in service mind. But very poor in facility and amenities. We stayed for 4 nights but given with only one bottle of water and a few sachets of coffee/tea throughout of 4-night stay without refill as the hotel said it's rules of them. In addition, the air condition was changed to heating system during our stay because the hotel said it's autumn however the weather was still very warm when we visited there so we was forced to open the window to get cooler (than the heater in the room) air which led to losing privacy as the guest in other rooms could see into the other guestrooms plus very noisy from the outside.

Apparently you can expect an A/C on the room even if it is 25 degrees Celsius outside just because it is already late autumn ... I cannot accept that for a hotel with a rate around 300€ per night. Rooms are also quite loud (doors, TV from neighbor, etc). Cleanliness was acceptable but not great either. Size is quite small

Room and hotel was lovely. However, our room was boiling hot even with the heating turned down. When I questioned the reception about the lack of air conditioning I was told that the air conditioning in the whole had been turned off due to the time of year and that there was no way it could be turned back on, despite me explaining to the receptionist that it was so hot in the room I couldn’t sleep. Considering it was hitting 30oc in Paris during my stay it was extremely invonvient not to have any sort of cooling system or air conditioning in the room. The room didn’t even have a window that could be opened, the only aid was the balcony door which could be opened throughout our time in the room but due to security reasons couldn’t not be kept open during the night. After the second night of no sleep due to the heat I almost checked out of the hotel early to find another hotel! I would suggest that situations like this should be judged accordingly by hotel staff. I understand later in the year services like that being switched off but when the temperatures are hitting 30oc during the day and irritated guests are complaining about the heat in the rooms then something should be done! As an Accor hotel member, I felt that this experience has really put me off going to future Mercure hotels. Guests should be made comfortable at all times and this was not a comfortable stay.

« 4 star hotel ruined by poor services »

We had a nice comfortable room in a nice location. Our experience was thoroughly ruined by the lack of air-conditioning in the room. We complained to Reception and were told that despite temperatures of 27 degrees, ‘it is October, and the air-conditioning is switched off’. Instead, we were recommended to ‘open the windows’!!!! This, in my opinion, for a four star hotel, is totally unacceptable particularly as you charge 4 star prices, and you do not say on the website that there is no air conditioning in the hotel. We also found housekeeping to be pretty shabby. On the first day, the refrigerator was not stocked, on the second day, we had to ask for coffee, milk and body lotion as these were not replaced after the first day. The breakfast was good as were the staff. But overall a Disappointing stay!

« disappointed considering the extremely high rate »

The staff were pleasant and helpful but the room (410) was incredibly small even by Paris standards. Having stayed in a Mercure in Lyon and another Paris location we expected more particularly at the extremely high rate. The room was drab and the walls so thin that we could hear the people in the next room coughing. As regular Accor users (mostly Pullman, Sofitel and Novotel) we would be dubious about using the Mercure brand again.

Having stayed in the Mercure in Lyon and another Paris location we were disappointed with this property. The staff were very helpful but our room (410) was minuscule even by Paris standards and the walls were so thin that we could hear people coughing in the next room. The decor (supposedly in keeping with the Art Deco theme) was drab although the room was clean and the bed comfortable.

Dear Liz, I regret if you did not enjoy your stay in our hotel. The size of the rooms in Paris are generally smaller than other European cities and this may surprise our anglo-saxons guests. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the typical art deco style of the building. Hope to see you again in Paris.

« Not bad but not very good either. »

We had what was called a suit with a sofa which proved to be a vinyl covered single bed, totally useless as a sofa. We were regularly treated to the loud sounds of upstairs toilets being flushed down pipes which must have been right behind the plasterboard with no insulation. During our stay the weather turned cooler and it became quite cold in our room. Radiators were not operative and when we asked at reception we were told there was 'no heating at this time of year'. We were offered extra duvet but that was not really the point. The air conditioning tended to blow cold or nothing. However, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was sufficient. The hotel is not convenient for metro stations all being about 15-20 walk away. Listed as 4 star this is definitely not a 4 star hotel.
